Review from Jennifer K.

East Village Yoga is though small... I found the practice room itself is nice and cozy.
The thing that really confused me is the schedule did not put down how long the class is... I was here for a Hatha Flow class from 6 pm...and then suddenly instructor said the class is over, let's do savasana. this makes me feel that the class is not too organize and I feel incomplete...
A really mix level class... with the instructor helping a much older beginner that has knee problem... I really doubt she can really flow anywhere soon...
The instructor though is really patient and work on alignment alot.. that's always beneficial to beginners or intermediate yogi.
BTW, I really think all yoga studios should have a washroom on their premise... imagine after you took off your winter boots when you checking in..and then you have the urge........ -
Review from Roma M.
East Village Yoga is located in a business office building in the heart of Pickering. I took a Kundalini Yoga class here with Christina on a weekday afternoon.
Understandably empty, I waited around for about 15 minutes for someone to come to the front and get me registered for a class that was to start in a few minutes. Although I could distinctly hear the instructor in the practice room chatting, there was no professional pause in conversation to check in the front for customers. I noticed another instructor carrying out an appointment for some private training, and I wasn't about to interrupt her, but she was the one who came out to help. Strange.
I looked around for changerooms once the registration was over, and was told I could use the sugaring(hair removal) room, but later also found out that there are washrooms just next door. Although the studio is very small, everything seemed to be clean and organized.
The class itself was a small disappointment, and not because it wasn't a great workout. It wasn't sweat-inducing, but I understand that Kundalini is more relaxing, and about being in tune with the body. I enjoyed the class itself but throughout, it felt as though I was interrupting a housewife chat session with yoga. It was a non-stop conversation about children, household chores, upbringing, etc., with minor interruptions with instructions for the next position.
If you're not a domestic engineer, if you don't have kids, and most importantly if you're interested in a silent, calming yoga practice, you'll probably want to head elsewhere because you'll feel excluded at East Village Yoga.Listed in: Yoga Fire!
