It was by happenstance that I stumbled into the East Coast School of Language. My boyfriend and I plan to visit the Czech Republic for a couple of months to see his family - all of whom live in Prague or the surrounding areas. I figure it would be a good idea for me to at least be able to say hello to them in their native tongue.
So, when I saw this place I decided to venture inside and see what they had to offer. I was sad to learn that they mostly deal with foreign students looking to learn the language. Their primary classes right now are English, which I already know.
The receptionist was extremely nice and actually gave me a number I could try, since they could not meet my needs. She was such a pleasant lady who obviously enjoyed what she was doing. A couple of students came to the front desk and she was able to acknowledge them all by name. There must be a lot of students there, but she took the time to know each one's name. I think that's saying something about the quality of teaching they do here.
I wish that, as an adult, I was able to attend a school like this. The place was decorated like I remember my kindergarten classes were. There were bright colours everywhere and posters on the wall. It was a very warm, welcoming environment, which would make learning there quite fun. It seemed like a great place for people looking to learn English to go. Perhaps I should just go back and update my own language. Nah, I speak good English.
