really love it here. the food is fresh and delicious. So many different pizza options and their mac & cheese is great! I just wish they had a little more to choose from.

Since arriving on Locke St. not that long ago, the Bread Bar has been a refreshing addition to a street that has been typically littered with antique stores and few dining options. I've been to Bread Bar on several occasions, but most recently I decided to order a pizza and salad for takeout.
I chose to go with the arugula & fennel salad as starter and to finish my meal with the traditional margherita pizza. The salad was very large for a takeout salad, but was just as fresh. My only complaint with the salad was that there wasn't enough dressing, but then again I typically enjoy more dressing then most. The pizza was a perfect size for one and you could easily taste the fresh, natural, and locally sourced ingredients that it was made with. It's was refreshing to see a restaurant not just say that they use quality local ingredients, but actually cultivate an entire meal that speaks to their philosophy.
I'm looking forward to heading back to the Bread Bar to sample the many other items that look great on their menu. -

Although we decided on the basic pepperoni and cheese pizza, we were beyond impressed. Great tasting dough, mild but flavourful tomato sauce, nice gooey cheese. Definitely going back to try some of the other pizzas on the menu.
Salad was great too. Again, we opted for the basic green salad. While it didn't have tomatoes in it, the dressing (buttermilk ranch?) was really tasty. The greens were very fresh, and of good variety.
Post-dinner, we both ordered a latte, and I was impressed with their coffee as well. The decor was very nu-Locke (read: Toronto), and I'm sure they could have dampened some of the noise with drapes or wall decorations, but it was cozy. -

We've been anxiously awaiting the opening of the Bread Bar for 6 months. Our wait was not in vain: the salads and pizzas are fresh and delicious. The Popeye pizza (spinach both cooked and fresh, creamy ricotta and bright lemon zest) was particularly excellent, with the flavorful dough baked to a lovely crisp and the tomato sauce tasting of actual, fresh tomatoes. Service was friendly if not always prompt to greet newcomers (but hey, they've only been open two weeks). We were too full for dessert, but there were lots of tempting possibilities. The free refills of sparkling water and refusal to sell bottled water for environmental reasons is especially appreciated.
Returned the next day for a latte and melt-in-your mouth chocolate scone. Looking forward to many excellent meals here. -

Bread Bar is a great 'Earth to Table' restaurant. They source every ingredients locally, a lot of it coming from the owner's garden. Because of this their menu is always changing depending on what's in season. Their sandwiches are delicious and pizza is to die for. I always leave here feeling full and healthy. Not the usual full feeling I get when I need to take a nap. Bread Bar is a great place to take a health conscious girl on a date to impress her!

This place is in a really quiet location, which is good for finding parking on a Saturday night. It's also really nice on the inside (definitely a place to take a date), and the pizzas are amazing! I've only tried the Wise Guy and Vampire Slayer. If you don't like garlic that much, don't order the vampire slayer! For those that enjoy garlic, the garlic confits come out soft and mushy, but still manage to be delicious. The wise guy is soo good! Don't waste your money on places that give you pizzas that taste like cardboard, go to the Bread Bar!
