Earls is a very consistent chain, and this location is no exception. The food is always tasty, service is always good, and who could complain about the good drink specials?
Try the sticky chocolate pudding, it's one of my favourite desserts! -

WHAT A DIVE! Earl's in Lansdowne Mall.
I made the mistake of going to Earl's in Lansdowne Mall yesterday.
This place has been revamped but it is clearly not up to standards with other Earl's.
Decor is way off in here somehow. I was seated in one of their cataract inducing interogation booths - what's with having a stringy four bulb bright flourescent led bulb inches from your forehead - not so comfortable or flattering????
The restaurant was brightly lit with these blazing white LED's, shortly, they dimmed downed the main lights and only had the bright booth lights light up the tables. This looked and felt terrible and accentuated how dingy and old the restaurant was.
Food was nothing special and servers had way to much attitude relative to their C minus looks.
Mediocre overall. Bring sunglasses if u want to eat here. -

My wife and I stopped here yesterday for lunch. We were the first customers in the restaurant and had to wait 15 minutes as the store was just opening which was fine, no problem. We ordered green tea a coke and 2 salads. The check was over $44. Ridiculous amount of money for 2 salads and 2 non-alc. beverages.
My wife said her maple salmon salad was just ok. I had the pecan crusted chicken salad and the chicken was definitely overcooked and had an odd taste to it so that was not eaten. the rest of the salad was ok but come on $44 bucks!
The only thing I found good was the the service was friendly but They did not ask when they took my plate why the chicken was still on the plate and not touched. -

I enjoy coming to Earl's occasionally because it's consistent. I can't say that I've really had a bad meal there. It's a standard West-Coast/Pacific Rim-inspired menu that doesn't take too many risks and will usually leave you feeling satisfied.
I like the seafood linguini and the grilled chicken & baked brie sandwich. Their clam chowder is very creamy with lots of clams and potatoes swimming around inside. They serve a decent sized burger, and good calamari. Also good are the shoestring fries.
My only quibble is that their prices are constantly on the rise. What started as a $14 pasta in 2004 is now an $18 pasta, so about a dollar a year. I guess we'll chalk it up to a very high rate of inflation.
I too will have to agree that the girls working here seem to require a minimum sexiness requirement. Short skirts and low cut tops are part of the uniform here, and short, frumpy, grad-school-looking girlies like me (as i am indeed a grad-school-girlie) need not apply!
Anyway I just avert my eyes from the hemlines and I always comfortably enjoy my meal. Service has always been very nice when I've eaten here with my family and with friends. -

I have a love/hate relationship with Earls. Yeah ok I know it is hip to like them and trust me I like being seen sitting at the bar just as much as the next person but I have had a couple of issues there.
This was the location due to work in Richmond that I frequented more but it pales in comparison to the Burnaby or Vancouver locations.
This is purely from a girl's view but what is up with the wanna be models, or more commonly known as hostesses/servers. I know you have to play up your looks for the men who frequent the bars, I mean a tip is a tip but does it mean that you have to constantly display that attitude. Would someone do them a favour and discover these girls already. Good Lord, don't expect to get the same treatment if you too are wearing a skirt, why I don't know cuz I tip just as good.
Anyhow, getting back to the food. The drinks are rad, my faves being Belini, oh yeah! and green apple martini, mmmmm martinis.
They also have some pretty decent appetizers. I highly recommend the dynamite sushi rolls. Yeah I said sushi. These tender morsels are so tasty and explode flavour in your mouth.
They have awesome stirfies, burgers, steaks, salads and many other choices.
I can't say I like their thin pizzas with a strange "Klik" style topping or better known as spam. Pretty gross!
If you want to have a few drinks, forget about the ball and chain or the dreaded workplace, whatever it may be this is a great unwinding opportunity with ambience galore. After a few drinks it won't matter anymore how that server/model just looked at you.Listed in: Chains: The real truth
