I've been coming here since this restaurant opened. Over the years the food has had issues, but as it sits now, this is definitely the best restaurant in Port Coquitlam. Unfortunately in Poco there aren't a lot of nice restaurants, and you generally have to go into Coquitlam or Langley to find something.
The place has been completely renovated inside, and it looks great. The lounge, bar and dining areas look great, and the open concept kitchen really makes this place look like something you would see in downtown Vancouver.
For Port Coquitlam, this place is a little pricey, but the food is excellent. Its tough to fault anything on the menu. For appies I personally love the chicken tacos, spinach dip and dynamite roll. For dinner they always have good steaks and ribs. Their rice bowls and salads are excellent as well.
This is a great place for date night or just to go for drinks. The drink menu has really improved over the years, and they make some great martinis. -

They've changed everything on the menu.... and not for the better. oh and they are all kid friendly now. awesome.....ugh.
Husband and I went last night for dinner... 9pm. Got in no problem, the kid server was great. Set myself up with my usual double bellini and geared up for some engaging chat with the man I barely see because we both work 2 jobs. Let's get the dry ribs to start, I say, not even opening the menu. Kid server tells me "ohh sorry, they've discontinued those." say what? they were only the most popular menu item of all time. floored. moving on...
Open the menu. Not only had they previously discontinued the amazing pene alfredo and replaced it with another more "sophisticated" dish for about $4 more, they have now nixed that one too! I nearly lost my mind. We went there because I didnt want a damn burger, or $23 fish and chips (couldnt even believe I was reading that). They've changed so many of the really good staples they used to have, and I imagine we are not the first ones to be turned off by it all.
Because we were so hungry, we likely would have ordered SOMETHING to nosh while we chugged beverages, now going down entirely too quickly... had it not been for the precious new mommy breastfeeding her damn baby one table over. No cover, no modesty, pulled up her shirt.... really?!? is this happening?!? I do NOT like my food with a side of TIT thanks. I dont care if they wanna whip them out in H&M.. have at 'er hippies - but have some respect while people are trying to EAT. NOT the time, or the place. There are bathrooms and nursing aprons for a reason. barf. Couldnt have left fast enough. They need a complete overhaul. -

Slight pretentiousness and seemingly underage hostesses aside, Earls on a Wednesday is a good place to go. Wings half price and pints for $3.99!
I used to cook at an Earls ages ago and still have a soft spot for the burgers. So I'm a little biased, but my girlfriend and I had a good experience there last night.
We were offered fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and there was hot apple cider while we waited for our table. The waitress was a little more experienced than the giggling hostesses and the food and drinks came quickly and were very fresh and tasty.
Although the people that work there are younger and prettier than everyone else, I'll try not to hold that against them. -

I like Earls, especially the Poco location. It is not too busy, and their patio is nice to sit at though not much view but anyways. I love their $4.99 cocktail Thursday as I love their cocktails, no juicy slushy like that of Milestone's. They are interesting and are solid, and come at an excellent price point! (on Thursdays)
The calamari is also good, and the food are generally good, live upto the expection of the big-restaurant chain food. -

First time to this Earl's. Really good solid service... I would even go 5 stars. Good atmosphere typical of what one expects at an Earl's.
Started with the Dynamite Roll which for a non-Sushi restaurant was actually pretty decent. The Dry Ribs, according to my dining mate, was over-seasoned... he actually left two on his plate which never happens. I had the Westcoast Greens for dinner which just had to much going on, (feta, candied pecans, couscous, strawberries, prawns, mixed greens with a vinaigrette and I don't know what else). Brian ordered the Chicken Quasadillas of which he only had half but that may be due to the Strawberry Sundae he eyed just after ordering his entree :-)
The kitchen redeemed itself by doing a great dessert... the Toblerone Brownie (which is a half-portion) was just perfect - no sharesies here - I tackled this one all by myself :-) Tasty, fudgy warm brownie with petite scoop of ice cream - perfect. The strawberry sundae did not disappoint, either - Brian managed to eat all of his dessert. All in all a nice experience... we'll come back. -

Unlike most competitors, the service at this Earls is very good. I've had lunch there about 9-10 times and never been disappointed. High praise, indeed.
