I'm not usually a big Earls fan but I actually had a really good time at this location the other night. Perhaps they've cleaned up their act following some of the negative reviews on here from a couple years ago.
First off, the service was amazing! Our waitress was super sweet and personable. She had input on the menu items that was spot on and definitely enhanced the experience. While she never outright said it, I think she was new? She made a couple comments that implied that like mentioning in conversation that this was the first time she had seen their "Moscow Mule" drink (which was fantastic by the way). If she was a new server, this makes it all the more impressive.
I was only there for dessert and drinks which are two things that Earls generally does pretty well. The banana chocolate cake was great! Everyone else I was with really enjoyed their food as well. One thing that they need to do is advertise on their menu that they have multiple toppings for their cheesecake. My one friend almost didn't order it because she doesn't like blueberries but it turns out that they have a number of other toppings available.Listed in: April Underdog Challenge, West Edmonton Mall

I heard many bad reviews on Yelp about how bad this location is but this location isn't that bad or maybe it was a Monday night when I went with my girlfriend and my friends. I had the Haian Kung Pao shrimp and it was really good. The waiter was really friendly and service was really good and also our food came quickly and quality was great.

On Sunday we came to the mall to check it out after working almost everyday. We needed some type of break. We came to row of restaurants and at first chose a place across the way but one of the guys wanted steak so we came back to Earls.
Our waitress was nice but had a problem hearing each of us. With 5 people maybe she should have came to each person while they were ordering so she could hear exactly what we wanted. Otherwise she was on top of service and got us everything we needed even if we had to repeat ourselves.
The food, yum! We order some appetizers, calamari and salt and pepper wings. The calamari was not too chewy and was very tasty. The wings were great because they were crispy on the outside but juicy and tender on the inside. Its crazy on how many places screw this up! I ordered a burger, one person ordered a mango chicken dish, while the other three order some form of steak. Each of us finished our whole plate and thought it was one of the best meals we have had. The guys stated the steaks were perfect and wanted to take more home!
Dessert was also ordered and I only had one bite of the cheesecake but wow, I wanted more. Definitely a place I would come back to. The decor was relaxed and woody. I love the wood stairs, ceiling, bar, etc... Just my type of place. -

This Earl's is located within the West Edmonton Mall. Personally, I find this shopping centre to be somewhat disorienting and Earl's provides a nice port in the storm as part of a more extended shopping day. However, after eating here, I prefer a stand alone Earl's and with a nice outdoor patio.
Unlike the the other 3 reviews posted here, my work colleague and I had a nice dinner here, although I'll admit that the service was a "bit" uneven. The servers were appropriately apologetic and at no time did we fell that we were crowded in. We particularly enjoyed the nice and modern layout and the energy. The drinks were tasty, we both enjoyed our food and some interesting conversations, and as neither tourists nor fantasy landers, we went back to the hotel full, happy, and no plans to do better in Hinton. -

Came here for a family dinner after we arrived at the other West End location which was closed for renovations. I was not particularly excited to be eating at Earls in the first place but the one in the mall is legendarily crappy.
So we arrive and wait 40 minutes for a table of 5 on a sunday night. When we finally get into the restaurant we see that we were waiting for a single large table - none of the staff were intrepid enough to push two smaller tables together to accommodate us. A great start to the night.
So we sit down and place our orders. We order wings & salads to start. The wings come out and the plate is sloppy - I mean splotches and spills all over it - they were too lazy to wipe up the spilled dressing before it left the kitchen. We had to ask for plates and napkins - FOR HOT WINGS. The salads never come and our entrees arrive. Well guess what? They bring the salads at the same time as the entrees. So we have these piles of food in front of us, forced with the choice of either eating the entree while its hot or the salad while its cool. I never even got my salad at all, when I pointed this out they offered to bring it out but I stated that the point was I, and everyone at the table, wanted it BEFORE the entrees as part of our appetizers.
The food itself was poor, the wings were not hot, nor crispy. The burger was decent enough though the fries were cold and it was next to impossible to flag down wait staff for ketchup. My friend hardly touched their pasta but said it was good to be polite to our hosts... My Dad ordered some tacos and there were 3 scrawny tacos for a whole entree. He was finished in approximately 5 minutes. No veggies or salsa were served with it and the proportions were minuscule for an entree.
This restaurant is a complete failure from start to finish. The staff are utterly incompetent and the food is only so good. I suspect that this restaurant appeals mostly to tourists and people staying in fantasy land hotel - as in they do not rely on repeat business, so they don't need to work very hard.

My Husband and I went here for an early evening meal after shopping in the mall. The restaurant is very nice inside, very modern. We were greeted right away by the hostess and told that it would be a 10 minute wait. I was kind of surprised, since it was a Friday evening and the mall was busy as usual.
So we waited and were seated in the middle of the restaurant at a tall table. I have to say that the tables didn't seem organized well, it was like they tried to shove in as many as they could. Our server came quickly and took our drink orders, I got the Doctors Orders, a martini with acai and mangosteen juice in it. We waited a while for our drinks. When she came with them she apologized for the wait and took our food order. I ordered the penne alfredo with chicken and my Hubby got a steak.
My martini was probably the best I have ever had! It was so tasty, I was in heaven! I highly recommend having one of those!
We waited about 20 minutes for our food, I got another martini in the meanwhile. When our food came it was hot. My portion of pasta wasn't huge, but I was content with it. My Husbands steak had some gristle in it, which he didn't seem to impressed about, but his mashed potatoes were really good. Our food was good over all, nothing too amazing. Our bill came to over $60.
I wasn't wowed by this Earls. The place is nice in itself, but the food and service weren't exceptional or anything. The prices aren't bad. I would rather try a different restaurant next time we are in the area. -

It is nice that their is a decent restaurant right inside West Edmonton Mall but I would prefer one of the independent locations.
Whenever I come here I sit in the lounge. The service is pretty fast and friendly but I find that the food sometimes takes a bit longer than other places. The servers are really nice and very outgoing. We sat at the bar once and ordered our food and the bartender gave us sample so many different shots. If we didn't recognize a particular bottle on the wall and asked about it they would let us try it out. That was pretty nice of them.
One of the bigger lounges of the Earls Restaurants. -

We had lunch here during a tour of the mall. My Italian friend Ernesto an I are. Pretty critical about our food an wine because we both have travelled the world for more than 30 years.
The server was outstanding! I wish I would have got her name. You would want her to wait on you.
We both had Indian Curry. I have eaten Indian food for years when I lived in the UK and have been to India 5 times, this Curry is wonderful. Large portion served with Naan bread -

To me, it doesn't matter which location of Earls it is, none of them are up to par.
The food is mediocre - nothing stands out about it. And this particular location is no exception.
They have a "patio" in the mall which really isn't a patio at all because it's IN the mall.
The staff are not great. They are friendly but not very helpful.
Sorry Earls, you are not at the top of my list. -

I agree with the others. Bad service, bad food, bad idea in the first place. We waited an hour to get a table for 6, and then the steak was so tough I thought I was going to have to give my father the heimlich maneuver. I will never go there again.
