The Duthie Gallery is slightly off the main drag in Ganges, but well-worth the effort of seeking out. The gallery itself is in a charming, cabin-like structure, and the surrounding grounds contain surprises at every turn, including oversized wood lampshades hanging from the trees, and spectral whitewashed figures congregated in a gazebo.
Inside, the gallery is a showcase for contemporary wood furniture and sculpture. Prints of urban and industrial landscapes by Vancouver artist Richard Tetrault provide a gritty complement to the sleek lines of the wood. -

Yes, this is the same Celia Duthie who was the entrepreneur behind Vancouver's famed Duthie Books. This shift into a gallery that showcases unique woodworking and other artistic objets is a journey that Celia and Nick can share with you. Located just beyond Hastings House, the Duthie-Hunt's have created the sculpture garden concept, which has been expanded at both Hastings House and Harbour House Hotel. Their discerning eye showcases the very best of the B.C. wood artists and artisans, with many of them calling Salt Spring home. Don't miss this one, when doing the Studio Tour.
