While the name suggests Ham&Cheese alone, Dussa's is definitely more of a cheese lovers' haven. I couldn't even manage to count how many types of cheese they had - many of them house-made I believe. I went with basics mozza and havarti - both delicious and simple.

Alongside the cheesing I also got some deli meats. I picked out the Dijon turkey, black forest ham, and pork kiebasa. The turkey and ham were both really fresh and gourmet-tasting; the sausage was great too but milder than what I'm used to. For everything that I got, it was very affordable.

My only complaint is that the staff did not seem to be experts on the products they were selling, in fact they seemed like they were new or just didn't care too much. They could direct me to specific types of cheeses, but when I asked for suggestions, they didn't really seem to know how to respond. Also, as it was a bit small, I would love for them to expand their deli selection!

Wow, I think I've become a foodie - coming from northern California and being friends with the cheesemonger at the best worker owned co-op ever can make one throw that term around much as one would throw around the word "hipster".

Dussa's has a great selection of cheese, but I'm not really feeling it. I stopped in the other day on my way home from work to pick up a couple of cheeses for a cheese plate and I really had a bit of a hard time making my selection, as while they do have a good variety of cheese - most of it feels like cooking cheese to me.

I settled on a delicious medium rind chevre and a wedge of Taleggio, both of which were great of course, but I love visiting the cheesemonger and finding new things to try every time, and I just get that more at Le Amis or even at Urban Fare.

Yeah they had a great selection at first glance... but the girls that worked there couldn't tell you what any of them were. I got a smoked gruyere, now I know cheese.... I worked on a cheese farm for god sakes..... and this was not a gruyere, it was soft and barely smokey. Ie it was labeled incorrectly.

The rest of their cheeses looked awesome and I'm sure they were great but the girls were kinda hipsterish and not very friendly... actually just talking on the phone and not really helping me. So three stars for good cheese selection, minus two stars for the crappy service.  Stop talking on the phone ladies and make sure you've got your cheese labeled right and help the customers.

If my boyfriend ever loses sight of me while visiting Granville Island's Public Market, he knows to begin his search here. Upon returning to Vancouver after my stint in Asia, I spent nearly $50 on cheese.. a paltry affair, really, when considering the vast selection here. That first visit brought me a smoked gouda, asiago and a six-month old manchego. At the moment, I currently have a creamy havarti and an aged cheddar in my fridge, on top of the stock standard fresh parmesan that I buy bi-weekly.

Aside from cheese, Dussa sells crackers, tapenade and deli quality meat.

If I could, I would give Dussa's five thousand stars.  Everyone at Dussa's is just fantastic.  The folks that own and work at Dussa's are truly the most wonderful people in the world and I mean that very sincerely.  The wonderful array of meats and cheeses are world-class and you won't find a better establishment anywhere on the globe.

They have a great cheese selection, but i love that you can taste them before choosing some random one and hoping it works out for the best. It's a great way to open up your world to cheeses and realize that it can be so much more than cheddar or mozzarella (of which they have too, but more gourmet!)

With plenty of locally-made and international cheeses at your disposal, it would be prudent to plan a fondue asap!  The daunting selection of fromages will no doubt have your head spinning with recipe ideas and if you have any questions the friendly staff will do their best to answer them for you.  The meat selections of fresh ham's, sausages, salami's and the like will have you dreaming up your next gourmet sandwich and a variety of imported mustards, horse-radishes, crackers and other Italian specialities will keep you coming back for more.
