I wish they would quickly mention the required cooking times for their pastas. Maybe there's a sign and I am blinded with hunger, but I always forget to ask.

Great display, however, when I took the ravioli home I was sorely disappointed. Not very fresh and it was overly chewy. No melt-in-your-mouth feeling, even though I then tried cooking it for as long as possible. It just turned into a gooey mess. I would rather go to First Ravioli and pick up the real stuff.
Cheese selection is also good, however grossly overpriced per 100 gram. I guess that's Granville Island for ya.

Here, I am the adult version of a kid in a candy shop. I want this. I want this. I want this. Oh, and I want that...
Pastas, spreads, nibbles, sauces. I want to win the lottery just so I can always get everything I want from here every visit. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful...doling out samples to lure me into additional spending. Fiendish devils!

Maybe it was the clerk's bright red lips or her apron, but really, I think she just exuded Italian charm as she spooned servings of butternut squash gnocchi and spinach and ricotta ravioli for me. Before we bid farewell, she said the choicest quote of my day: "That's the beauty of Granville Island. You come to wander around, and you leave with an arm full of goodies." Splendido!

Duso's is lovely. Honestly, I don't know why I bother wasting my time with store-bought pasta and sauce with this place around. They offer a range of different food and ingredients to assist you in preparing a fresh and authentic Italian dish at home while also offering some deli-type meals for take-away. Big fan of their caprese salad. They're quite generous with their mozzarella distribution so if you're like me and have a tendency to try and save the cheese for last, you'll be thoroughly pleased with their rendition.
