Rob and his brother Paul and their (gentle) Pit Bull run a fun bicycle shop in Dunbar/Point Gray. Don't let the Shop's relaxed attitude fool you this a Shop for serious rides. I brought my flagship Giant Roard Fittness Bike at this store and brought it in last week for a major service.  At pick up their was problem with the new chain that was installed.  It was closing near closing time theTech that was left in the shop stayed late to get it right. I say that was above and beyond service.

I took my bike here last summer for service before a bike race. Boy did I regretted that decision. I called ahead to make an appointment and was told to just bring my bike in a few days before I needed it done and they would have it ready. No appointment necessary, wrong you need one.  Wait time was over a week for service.

The guy in the service department was nice enough to help me out and do some of the work required but they didn't have time for everything. I got a phone call saying the bike was ready for pick up. When I went to pick up my bike it was discovered that they had mixed up my bike with another one. They serviced the wrong bike and my was sitting in the corner untouched. Not really apologetic about the mistake I was told that even less work could be done as the regular mechanics were away. Super. Just what a customer wants to hear.

The day before my race I took my bike for a ride to discover that the front and rear derailleur were not set correctly and the rear calliper was misaligned. Ugh. I will give them a positive that they did flush the brakes properly.

Overall experience was a complete disappointment. I wont be back.

I had a problem with my electric scooter, and even though they don't specialize in motor vehicles, or anything other than bikes, the staff helped me out.  I would recommend this bike shop.

I was in the market for a new bike helmet but I had absolutely no expertise in picking out something that would protect my last few brain cells without making me looking like a bike racing poser.

The sales guy was extremely helpful and patient in directing me to helmets commensurate with my skill level and almost as importantly to me, having a color that works with my bike.

Dunbar had a nice selection and prices that were in line with other stores.

I bought a great bike here 2.5 years ago. As much as I loved my bike (Devinci Copenhagen) I did not return to Dunbar Cycles for a replacement when my bike was recently stolen. While the sales side was ok and the bike servicing very satisfactory, there was no "wow" factor. I could have been a loyal customer. They didn't seem to care.

I love this place because it has the trifecta of great customer service: employees are friendly, helpful, and know their stuff.

I'm a novice and needed a lot of information. I got most of it from a part time staff.

They seemed okay but the after sales service was lacking. I had my bike for about 3 months and wanted to trade up but was given a ridiculous trade up price.

I sold it on craigslist and got a brodie elsewhere.

Was actually referred here by the boys at Steed Cycles.  Nice place, good service, and the bike was actually cheaper here than any other place I found.  Not bad for a place in a rather expensive area of the city.

my only experience here is buying a chain tool, so i can't cover anything more comprehensive. the service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. these guys know everything about bikes and their staff are cool and laid back. give them a shot.
