Favorite bar in Whistler Village! A pub-- I know right? It's generally not my style but the crowd, the service, the vibe at this place was just way better than any other bar in the Village.

The first time my friend and I came here, it was the night of the Vancouver and LA hockey game. Being from SD, BUT not much of a hockey fan, it was intense being in the bar. It was quiet and then all of a sudden SCORE! and the bar went nuts. Everyone toasting, everyone drinking, everyone dancing. At the end of the game, even more dancing and drinking. Vibe was great!

When the game's aren't on, they have live music where a little bit of some folksy dancing took place- again.. I know right?! But it was fun!

Drinks and selection were great. My friend and I must have come here at least 3 times during our stay at Whislter.

    Definitely check the place out!

    Favorite restaurant in Whistler Village.

There's live music on most nights that play celtic-inspired songs. Totally adds to the feel of the place. It can get pretty packed though. But in these types of places, the busier the better.

I always come for dinner. Get the bangers and mash and hunter's pie? Both are amazing. Also love the Irish beers on tap.

If you're straight from Ireland and want a piece of home, you're lucky because they have a Bank of Ireland ATM you can use.

If you had to go to only one restaurant while you're at Whistler. Choose here. My absolute favorite.

First off I LOVE their countdown to St. Patrick's day calendar above the bar...only 361 more days left when I was there, haha.

I ordered up some Strongbow and appy's...we had the baked Stilton which is a blue and cheddar cheese dip and chips and dip which is fries and your choice of garlic mayo, chipotle mayo, sour cream or gravy. I have never had blue cheese and wasn't really a fan but I think that was just personal taste...the chips and dip we opted for chipotle mayo and garlic mayo, both just kinda tasted like McChicken sauce.

I loved the atmosphere of the bar, it's all wood and brick finishes, and the live band really added to the atmosphere

Fun pub because of the ambience and live band!  Great place to go for apres ski or to hang out in the evening!  Rukus, the cover band that plays, is very versatile and can sing everything from Prince to Adele!

Great drink menu.  Right in the heart of Whistler Village!

Something has changed about this place.

First the positive - full disclosure, I'm from Ireland and I can tell good Guinness from bad Guinness - they have PERFECT Guinness and that sadly, is where it ends.  The pints are good, but they are $8 a pop.......pricey.  Normally, I camp out here 'apres-ski' because the pints and grub are so good - not this time.

Oh the food....for what it was, it was a bit pricey.  I had the smallest, crappiest tasting shepherds pie evah!  It's hard to screw up sheppie pie, but they did.  it was about 3/4 potato and 1/4 'meat sauce', in a thick gravy. The serving was quite small (so I ordered a big side of fries - can't have enough potato can you?).  I would give the dish 1 star.  My better half had the Guinness burger and was sick afterwards.....

So come for the pints and don't stay for the food - it has gone way downhill (or they had a bad day).

    Awful fish-n-chips!
Purported to be the best in Whislter.
Three of us ordered the fish-n-chips. One order was raw in the center. One order was "fishy", and the third order was mushy. The "chips" were forgettable.
    How sad!

Known more for the after slopes party, but don't pass on the breakfast... some great benedict choices here to go along with some fluffy buttermilk pancakes, next throw in a stout irish coffee making this a great start breakfast right next to the Blackcomb gondola!  Strawberries on top of the pancakes with the fine canadian maple syrup provided were awesome!

We went here for lunch after reading the good reviews on this place for lunch. It was Labor day weekend in Whistler and everyone was sitting outside, so we had the inside to ourselves. Service was great and the food was okay. I got the lamb stew and my husband had the shepards pie. He said it was okay.

They had a good sized menu to pick from for lunch and the atmosphere is pretty decent.

When you purchase a Ziptrekking/Canopy Walk tour, you get 20% off at Dubh Linn Gate -- and that's how I ended up here on Sunday afternoon!

Was here for a couple of appetizers:  Baked Crab and Artichoke Dip and Chicken Wings (half BBQ, half honey garlic).

The Crab and Artichoke dip was a larger portion than I expected! It was packed high into the dish and came with baguette and chips.  It was pretty good.  My only note is that I do like to see chunks of crab and artichoke in the dip and this one was minced.

The wings were average.  The flavor was definitely there and they weren't small wings/drumettes either.  This also came with celery and carrots and both ranch and blue cheese dip.

Both were $13 each, which was average priced for anywhere in Vancouver/Whistler.

The atmosphere was fairly good for a pub -- not crowded and quite clean.  The service was good, nothing to complain about!

Would definitely come here again, especially for 20% off!

Good booze.  Really good booze.  Giant Irish Car Bombs.  We had my dad drinking those and were drinking shots of Red Breast, we were feeling no pain or cold...and it was so nice to be able to walk a short distance back to our hotel.

There's lots of room, lots of live music and much frivolity.  Combined with the copious choices in alcohol, you can't go wrong here.

Very large menu with all the classics, well prepared: Shepard's pie, bangers and mash, fish and chips, - and my fav, steak pie.   Many unusual Irish pub offerings:  nachos, pierogies, and lentil burgers.

Prices are high - but Whistler is generally expensive - so I can't really fault that.  Most entrees are in the $15 or up range.  Even nachos are $15 for a half order.  Soup is $10.    Seriously, your booze is a better deal, but...what would you expect!?

I have to say it:  Proud to be a quarter Irish, but most people can't tell!

This place is probably a millimeter from 4 stars. The atmosphere is quite decent, with live musicians, and decent service. I've had many the fun night in this pub. It certainly is not cheap, but it's Whistler and that's to be expected.

My one gripe was from this morning. We got to the pub just before noon. There was a group of 12 of us. We sat down and began looking at the menus. We noticed the serious lack of brunch items, so asked for a brunch menu (as every last one of us was craving breakfast). The waitress stated that it was now 12 and they were not doing breakfast anymore. I had just seen people being served their breakfast as we were walking in! Check-out in most hotels is 11, so it was pretty disappointing that brunch ends so early on a long-weekend. I also thought considering it was noon (or just before) and there were TWELVE people, perhaps an exception could be made. The waitress suggested we go to Ric's Grill if we wanted breakfast (which was closed, btw). So we left and went elsewhere, and Dubh Linn Gate lost out on a couple hundred dollars.

That being said, when I am in Whistler again, I would definitely knock down for a pint.

I did not get a chance to eat at this restaurant on my visit, but I wanted to point out that it is right where one gets their whistler passes and rentals.  Therefore, very convenient location for lunch while skiing/snowboarding on Whistler mountain.  Prices seemed average for whistler ($15).

After going over the reviews on several different places on yelp to eat, we decided to stop here for a bite to eat. The place is so VERY charming. As you walk in, you are greeted by the most beautiful stained glass doors, to the sound of live Irish music! The waitresses all female and wear these cute kilts. The people and waitresses are all to kind and fast!!! The food, OMG...make sure to have a big appetite, we ordered the 1/2 order of the nachos (it was enough of 4 people! The Shepard's pie was huge, big enough for 2 people to share and so very good, the halibut and chips are also amazing!!! The Irish Stew was out of this world!! Now drinks, they had some amazing happy hour specials, the Bloody Caesars were so good. A meal on there own!! Make sure to try a Kilkenny beer on draft! The BEST, I am not kidding, the best!!

I am so glad we stopped here! It is such a charming and fun place, everyone singing, great food, great service and so much more!!!

I normally grade an establishment downwards if I find that they're too pricey.  However, because Dubh Linn Gate is located in a ski resort, I will assume that things at a resort are just pricey across the board.

But make no mistake in that DLG IS pricey.  But for their price, you get a good Irish bar.  I had a Reuben-style sandwich, with house-made corned beef.  The beef was thick-cut and chewy, but good.  They pressed the sandwich in a panini grill, and it worked!  Also, the fries on the side were thick-cut and potatoey.  And given how many mediocre fries, I've eaten, saying that they were "potatoey" is not faint praise.

Come here during slightly off hours of the day, however, because it gets crowded right after the skiing time closes.  (Did I say that correctly?  Heck, I grew up in the Midwest, so I don't know.)

Great wait staff and fun music helped the ease the pain of Whistler prices, even found in an Irish Pub!!

Guinness on special was still a solid $6 a pint and well drinks were around $7 a pop! Two of us had hot wings which were fairly disappointing in flavor and quality, $13. We ordered a club sandwich and a cobb salad, each around $15. The Club was good, but the Cobb was quite disappointing, the flavors were all overwhelmed by the bleu cheese, even after picking out the major crumbs.  By the end of the night, we were both still hungry and had spent $100!!! (3 drinks each)

It was a fun night out in Whistler, but would rather have gone looking for a little more delicious a dinner for that kind of coin, especially with how crappy the US dollar is treating us these days.

In my opinion, the best pub in Whistler. A slightly older crowd than the Aussie duuuude bars around town, this place has great live Irish music and a super lively atmosphere.

And the food! 8 of us ordered, and 8 of us were pleased as punch at what we were served. I had the Crab Guinness Bisque - it was so good that I returned the next day after a day in the snow for an even bigger bowl! I now dream of this soup.

When I am seated at the Dubh Linh Gate, I even appreciate the cheesy Irish pub decor. Conviviality is in air, beer is flowing and soup is slurped - I can't wait to go back!

Pogue Ma Hon!  erin Go Bragh!  This place is the best!  The food here was amazing.  In fact, I travel to Ireland several times per year, no stranger to an Irish pub.  And this is seriously some of the best pub food I've had, in or out of Ireland.

Live music pretty much every night.  Very family oriented, kids have to leave by 8:00 PM however, even if you are in the middle of dinner.  It turns into a bar.

We go here time and time again when visiting Whistler.

I've had this in my drafts for ages and ages! As my favourite pub in Whistler, and arguably one of my favourite Irish pubs on the west coast, Dubh Linn is the host for many of my Whistler drinking memories.

    A trip down memory lane:

-Apres snowboarding (aka spending a day on my ass), Guinness's and appies strips the pain away.

-Apres hiking up around the gondola, pints on the patio, watching the glacier boarders/skiers coming down. Discovers Caffrey's on tap!

-Apres zip trekking. Having 1/2 price appies. (I don't know if this is an every day occurrence, but we were there at 4ish on a Friday). And discovering they don't serve any Whistler beer. Weird! And finally noticing the countdown to St. Patricks Day on the wall along with the clock set to Dublin time.

-Dinner and drinks before hard core drinking, almost every Whistler trip, Circa 2000 (first time drinking a lemon drop martini) to 2010 (dirty vodka martini, extra dirty)

Thanks Dubh Linn for all of the memories! You're the best, even if your pints run a little steep!

Great place to curl up for a few beers.  Cozy nooks and crannies, fireplaces, extra-friendly staff, decent beer selection, very solid food.  The people watching was quite entertaining.

The live music really added to the atmosphere.  Just two people - man on guitar and woman on fiddle - but they knew their crowd - played "Sweet Caroline" for a bunch of Boston-ites, then transitioned to that "I would walk 500 miles" song for all us 30-somethings to nostalgically rock out to.  Then a little Dropkick Murphys knockoff and some Mumford and Sons!  What else could you want!

Anyone who knows me well knows thatI always have to check out any Irish pub that I find when I'm on vacation. The name of this place jumped out at me since it's pretty authentic, "Dubh Linn" was a lake from which the name Dublin comes from, it basically means "Black Pool" in Gaelic if my schooling serves me right.

This place is a good spot to stop by if you're looking for a pint of Guinness after an action packed day of snowboarding. They have a lot of cool memorabilia on the walls and I definitely felt a little nostalgic having a pint here.

Next time I'm in Whistler I'll definitely be back.

Being the Irish gal that I am, although I hate beer & meat, I just had to say I love this place.  It is a fun quirky spot away from the teenie boppers that hang on the mountain and wear mini skirts in frigid temperatures.  I clearly did not get the memo and even if I did I still would not have worn mini skirts in 27 degree weather and for gawd sake I would not have been coatless or wearing open toe shoes. brrrrrrrrr

If you have any of that Irish luck you will hear one of the many live bands play the great Irish favorite songs such as Alice Alice who the eff is Alice or top 40's with an Irish accent.  Great service and I mean considerable service since our poor waitress had to deal with the drunken debaucheries of college week, however thankfully there was the Dubh Linn looseley translated means Black Pool, either that or the door person was full of shite.

This place is fun with a wee bit of Irish rowdy!

Dubh Linn is the Irish name for Dublin, meaning Black Pool. Black Pool is what the night here faded into after multiple Guinnesses (Guinni?) and several shots of high-end Irish Whiskey.

Cool, redheaded workers pouring the Black crack just right and keeping you entertained while you drink away the day.

When our skiing was interrupted by a blizzard that dumped feet of snow on the Whistler area and reduced visibility to near zero, we could have stayed in the condo and continued to drink down our boozey breakfast of champagne cocktails.  But that would have been stupid.  A better option was to brave our way to the base of the Blackcomb lift and continue our boozefest in a public house.

They pour excellent pints of Guinness and have an impressive collection of Irish and Scotch whiskeys.  The food is traditional Irish pub fare - warm and hearty.  Perfect fuel for stumbling home through the snowbanks.

It would have been a 4 star if the staff tried their best to turn on the propane tanks out on the patio (so many people made this request and they didn't do it).

Food:  Bison burger was great.  Just what I wanted for lunch. Lean and cooked nicely.  Nice portion of crispy fries.  What impressed me most was the cheese on my burger. it was an ale cheese and it was really really good.

Nice beer selection.  My blood caesar came in a short glass which I was disappointed in.  But tasted great nonetheless.

On Christmas day, after coming down Blackcomb from the Horseman's Hut (epic ride and view!), I stopped by the closest bar to the bottom, which happened to be Dubh Linn Gate.  As the world's fastest pounder of ICB's (Irish Car Bombs) this is the place for me.

Inside the place was packed.  A guy was strumming a great tune with a sweet lass playing the fiddle with all she had.  A cold frosty New Castle was there for me as well.

I came back later that evening with the wife and we sat and chatted with Andrew the "senior" bar keep and was dropping ICB's with him.  When I finished mine, I tried to give him encouragement to hurry up.

The food smelled good, but I was too busy talking World Junior's, Leafs, Sharks, Cancuks, Jiri Hudler, Devin Steoguchi, and a host of other hockey topics all over never ending ICB's and New Castles into the wee hours on a White Christmas night.

    Gawd, I love Canada!

Our entire trip up to BC we kept finding ourselves in Irish pubs- what can I say, outside of Ireland they're practically all the same so you can pretty much bank on what you're going to get. We managed to get in just in time for happy hour, so it was nice to get some not too-ridiculously expensive pints and a pitcher.

...And then we ordered food. The pirogi things were delicious, and we noshed the entire plate in less than 2 minutes. Whoever said the nachos were great is sadly mistaking. Seriously, how the hell do you screw up nachos??? It was already over 15 bucks for the standard order, which was a mountain of chips with a little bit of cheese melted on the crest....but that was it. We also got the guac and sour cream on the side, not realizing at the time our waitress asked that they were $2 each!! So it was $20 for some chips with stuff to dip them into...thoroughly disappointed and unimpressed.

It got too cold so we moved inside, where we were fortunate to immediately find a table. There was a guy inside playing cover songs intermittently throughout the evening which was nice, although it was a bit loud to hear him very well even with amplification. Our 2nd server was prompt with refilling our pitcher. The bloody mary I had somewhere along the way was strong enough but not spicy, and I would have liked some celery or olives in it to much on something since the nachos were so not satisfying.

After having been majorly sick the day before (maybe 12 hours straight of drinking wasn't such a good idea...), this was a nice spot to ease (if you could call it that) back into my alcoholic ways.

Look, it ain't cheap. Nothing in Whistler is...

This place cranks out an amazing breakfast! Their Celtic Classic is a huge plate of Irish Soda Bread, awesome sausages, potatoes, fresh fruit, eggs and more. It's way more than I could handle and two chicks could easily split it and be full.

Prices are lower in the summer but definitely recommend them year-round. Service has been friendly every time but if they're busy, you could wait up to an hour for your food. Have a bloody and wait. It's worth it.

Great place to go after an afternoon of outdoor fun in whistler. Atmosphere is really casual and fun. The outdoor seating area is a decent size with an awesome fire pit and plenty of heat lamps.

Nice selection of beers and cider. We both ordered the wild salmon sandwhich and it was very nice. They give you the option of having salad, fries, or half and half which is a great option I think.

    Service was good.

The Dubh Linn Gate was a wonderful respite from the madness created by the dirt bike championships in Whistler Village.  Came here for dinner after 3 hours of ziplining through the rainforest.  Snagged a table in the lovely outdoor patio.

I loved, loved, loved the Guinness Crab Bisque soup.  Huge hunks of fresh crab in a tomato-ey soup.  I could eat a huge cauldron of this stuff.  My fish and chips were awesome.  Lots of fish, crispy crust, tangy homemade tartar sauce and freshly cut fries.  Dubh Linn Gate has a wonderful beer menu that includes local beers (like Okanagan Spring Brewery) and McCaffreys (Ireland), which you can't find in the US.

The BEST part of the evening was the live tunes belted out by a funny Irishman.  He alternated between the Beatles, Van Morrison, U2 and dirty Irish drinking songs.  Amazing fun.

Okay, I admit it - we were drawn to the pub by their 2 for 1 beef dips - who could resist? We were wary however, what if it was that terrible deli roast beef that always took on the colour of an oil slick on a wet road? But we were starving and we had been craving a good Irish/English style beef dip since we first walked past their sign seven hours earlier - time to eat.

We were not disappointed. When we walked into the pub a musician was singing and playing the guitar; the place was lively and busy but a table was ready and waiting for us. We were relieved that even though it was late they still had beef left and thrilled to see they had Bulmer's Original Cider on the menu. We first drank Bulmer's the summer before in Ireland and England and the first tart, frothy sip brought back wonderful memories.

Our sandwiches finally arrived and the first bite of the meat stacked fresh bun revealed "real" roast beef not the shiny deli substitute. We devoured our sandwiches and another bottle of Bulmer's in what seemed like seconds flat and then sat back to digest.

Although not exactly like the pubs we visited when we were abroad, the Duhb Linn does a good job of capturing the essence of a good Irish/British pub. My only suggestion, turn down the lights a bit.

After skiing down the final slope into Whistler Village, what sounds better than a steaming cup of coffee...with a little Bailey's to take the edge off.  Dubh Linn Gate is literally a stumbling distance from the base of the mountain, drop off your skis, poles, or boards and saunter on in for an apres-ski beverage and snack.

I highly recommend the "Mellow Monk," a tasty combination of Bailey's, Frangelico, hot coffee, and whipped cream.  We kicked back in front of the faux fire and took a load off.  A wonderful way to defrost after a long day on the slopes.

Close to the slopes, with great choices. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I ate - after a few Guinnesses and a few years, I'll need another visit to give tips on specific dishes.

It's a nice, cozy, warm place with good service and good music, and after several visits, I'll definitely go back.

17 taps.  Mmmm. Little more needs to be said.

Stick to the Irish-inspired dishes and the food is very good, although the soda bread with my stew was not fresh.  Move to the non Irish food and it goes from good to OK: I don't think I've ever seen a mountain of nachos that high (may or may not be a good thing).

Nice and large pub cut into two sections (part within hotel you must eat in to get drinks, part added on outside of hotel you can just drink, outside you can just drink). Clean and well lit.

Servers wear small kilt inspired skirts.  All were eye candy.  Ours was very nice and attentive until they got busy, and then we wouldn't see her for ten minutes at a time - not good as they got busy shortly after we had our first round and placed a food order.  I'm not blaming her for the drop in service quality - she was way over loaded.

This is my favorite bar on planet earth.  They serve Kilkenny.  Amen.

Yes, it's expensive, and yes, you are in Whistler.

The waitresses are good looking and kind. The food is solid to upper scale pub dishes.

It's right outside the dual lift area.  They have completely won me over.

    I need for nothing here.

    3 words:
    Murphy's Irish Stout

It's been years since I've had the pleasure of enjoying a pint of Murphy's on tap.  It's that silly non-compete that Guinness tries to pull off at every bar.

This place has all the ambience of a Dublin Temple Bar Bar.  The bar is all hand-carved wood with many Irish beers on tap.  The lighting fixtures are traditional.  Even the waitresses dress up in the traditional knee-high socks and plaid skirt.

I even saw someone scraping their plate of shepherd's pie clean.  If I hadn't eaten already, I'd have ordered that for sure.

All in all, it's great service, atmosphere, eats, and drinks!

We came later in the evening for a pint, great music, and a fun crowd.
The pub is beautiful, and capacious.  Very comfortable.
    Tons of hot guys inside.
    Really nice people.
    First class joint.

Very good bar, but oh so pricey!  $50 one day and $60 the second for only 2 of us. 2 drinks each and we split one app.  And tiny, weak drinks they are. For all the paraphanalia on the wall talking about getting drunk in an Irish bar, they sure don't make it easy.

But we did love the live music, we just wish they didn't stop at 5:30.  And the food was reasonably tasty. And a nice, good sized bar area.  We'd go back if we weren't broke from the first 2 visits!
