DDC is my first studio dance experience in Vancouver. I got a really good deal from wonton, 5 class for 29 dollars. With the five classes I have tried street jazz, Burlesque and Pussy Cat Doll. The last two are my favorite. They are both taught by Joey, a confident, sexy and inspirational instructor. Her teaching really breaks the ice between being shy and being sexy. As she puts it, sexy is not something she can teach, but something that is already in you, every woman, regardless of their sizes and shapes. What she can do is to bring the sexiness out off you. And she did a great job. I learned how to move my body to the beat, how to touch it and be proud of it. It is the lesson every woman should take. And by the way, I totally rocked the dance party at my school, after attending only 3 classes!
I would have given five stars were it not for the out-dated facility and sometimes over-crowded space. All in all, my experience is satisfying. The instructors and the inviting environment they provide are the reasons to keep me going back. -

Okay -only share this amongst your nearest and dearest. The Drive's Burlesque classes are more giggles and winks than you can shake your booty at.
This is not a pole dancing studio. They have all sorts of classes - like the "popping" class that follows the Burlesque Beauties. There's hip hop, tap and contemporary jazz.
Attending as a beginner burlesquer (but going with the moral support of an experienced dancer) we both agree that the classes offer something for all skill levels- a workout (yes, they tone your abs and butt), a social experience (giggles) and a choreography that you can impress your friends or significant other with later on (Britney Spears, "Pieces of Me" is what I learned last time!)
It's a non intimidating atmosphere that makes me want to take all of the classes they offer. But patience I tell myself - I only have 2 feet, and most of the time they're both lefties. Must learn one step at at time!
