Great food and cheap beer specials, what more do you want?

Not bad, not bad. If a hip, laid back drinking lounge married a Milestones chain restaurant, this would be their love child. Their food selection leaves a bit to be desired but apparently, they're working on that. At the moment, the menu consists of stuff I can make better in my own kitchen (the mac and cheese everyone's been raving about, sandwiches, flatbreads with mediocre toppings). With an improved tapas selection, this place has the potential to rock New Wests world. They could seriously give people more options than the dingy lookin' dive bars or The Keg.
Now what I LOVE are the drink prices. Very reasonable and reflects the currency of the area. They only need to amp up their cocktail selection to be known as THAT drinking place (like Pourhouse cocktails). Right now, they're staying on the very safe side with tried and true recipes (read: boring).
Perfect location, right near the Columbia SkyTrain and a huge parkade across the street. -

Gourmet Mac N' Cheese in New West- who knew?
I must say I don't dine in New West often, so I wasn't expecting much from the menu. Let's just say the Drink Urban Lounge's rendition of the classic Macaroni and Cheese would bring me there every week. Perhaps it was the addition of Gruyere Cheese? Or maybe it's the nostalgia of eating comfort food during the good ol' college days?
It's served sizzling hot in an iron pan, accompanied by 2 slices of garlic bread and a lovely garden salad with tasty champagne vinaigrette dressing--all under $12 bucks--absolutely delish! -

Drink Urban Lounge is located on Columbia just passed 6th St. When you walk in the open layout is quite inviting. Kate the beautiful bartender, who I'd be glad to take home to my Mom, served me on my occasion and we had a great time.
I ordered the Mac & Cheese with a side Caesar salad. First, the Caesar salad was excellent. The Caesar dressing isn't made in house but is still excellent. Lettuce was crisp and fresh. The Mac & Cheese however is where I begin get giddy with excitement. When I went in it was a rainy, ugly day and I felt I wanted something that reminded me of home and being on the couch wrapped up on such a day. Mac & Cheese! With a sizable portion and so much cheesy goodness I had to "twirl" my macaroni! It was just what the rainy day ordered. With a hint of bleu cheese it made the Mac, and I hate Bleu Cheese! My compliments to the chef!
I'll definitely be returning the next rainy day, and this time I might just bring that blanket to snuggle up! -

After reading Christina's review yesterday I made it my mission to get some Mac and Cheese.
Tonight I had the Mac and Cheese but started with the tater tots. I'm a bit of a sucker for tots, perhaps it's from watching Napoleon Dynamite way too much.
The tots were ok but the Mac and Cheese lived up to my expectations. Nice and creamy with plenty of cheese. I'll certainly be back for more Mac and Cheese, I suspect the reset of the menu will not get sampled.
The downside, $12 is a little steep for the size of dish you get, only a minor issue. -

Forgive me if I rave too much, but in a town where half the bars still feature meat draws and Keno, Drink is a great leap forward in New West's nightlife. It's lovely, lounge-y and friendly, featuring a long list of cocktails and martinis and decently priced bottles and wines by the glass. The bar list tends towards the classics and tries to offer something for everyone, which is fine for this girl, who liked the sound of a "Mr. Belvedere" - does anyone else remember the booze-of-the-month-club episode? - and got a little misty for Paralyzers and Long Island Ice Tea.
The banquettes are very comfy, and there is lots of room in the middle for standing around and mingling. I haven't tried the food yet, but from what I saw of my neighbours plates, it was presented with flair; therefore it looked tasty.
Drink is also not too far from a SkyTrain station, so perhaps I will have to lure more of my non-New West friends here in the future for decadent lounge-lizard times, on my own turf for once.Listed in: Bright Lights, Royal City, Date Night

Went in the afternoon, the place was dead as are most places at 3 in the afternoon... Went inside and was very pleased with the decor but even more pleased with the server. Seldom you find someone with a nice balance of character and keep efficient at their job... thumbs up to the service and the food was good too... nothing too special but didnt expect more was pleased... my friend had a good pasta that she liked which was cheesed out lol
