I work around the area so usually I go there for dinner with co-workers. I love the decoration and the astmsphere but the space between tables is a little small with waiter and waitress walking around.

The food is great. love everything I had. The scallops are the best!!!

Came here for dinner on a Friday evening with my boyfriend since we were in the area. The decor and ambience are so great! We didn't have reservations but the place was relatively empty. Service was great.

I ordered the special -- tempura soft shell crab. It was delicious. Served on a bed of arugula, dices of pineapple, cilantro, and a great yummy sauce (tasted like an Indian dish -- reminded me of a great dining experience at Rasika in DC). Yumm. My boyfriend ordered the duck breast medium rare, served on a bed of wild rice.

Overall the food was great. However the menu is a bit limited (albeit with great options) and relatively expensive. No glasses of wine were less than $11, some being as much as $17, and no entree was below $25.

Would recommend but I'd probably only come back if in the area.

    AMAZING!!! Mother's Day 2012.

    Ambiance:
Comfy, Romantic & Calming.  Great background music (oldies soul/rock). Perfect mix of casual but still a little dressy. just the right amount of "stuffiness".

    Service:
FANTASTIC! I couldn't have asked for anything more from our server. she rocked!

    Food:
Although it was all yummy (scallops, Banana Tart are A MUST TRY), everything did kind of taste alike. My pork belly had the same flavor profile as the duck and steak. There wasn't much variety in taste from dish to dish. But each was yummy in its own way.

    Cost:
Moderate- not outrageous. 3 people w. drinks, apps, entrees and desserts = $250

I would go back without a doubt. Just be careful on your timing. We ate @ 6pm with only 2 other parties in the restaurant. By 7:30 it was a FULL HOUSE!! The restaurant fills up fast.

Dressler has one of the most intimate, beautiful dining rooms I've ever seen. I love the super intricate metal work that can be seen throughout the restaurant, from the chandelier to the seats at the bar. The cushioned seats (if you're lucky enough to sit in them) on each side of the restaurant are pretty comfy. It's one of those restaurants that's just as nice to sit inside as it is outside.

We came here for brunch with high expectations, and Dressler did not disappoint. My eggs benedict was near perfect. The combination of the soft, delicate poached eggs and the slightly crispy cheddar biscuit was amazing. It came with some potatoes, which was delicious as well. I think it's safe to say that a lot of places overcook them, to the point that they are dark brown in color, but not here...they were cooked perfectly and had a golden brown color. The greens that accompanied the eggs benedict and potatoes were great as well. Very fresh and covered in the perfect amount of dressing.

    Will be returning this week!

Had dinner a while back at the Dressler for the second time.  As a foodie and server, I want to like the place, I really really do. And yet...

    Food was pretty delicious.
    Starters:
My raviolo was delicious, not too heavy. It came in a delicate broth that was perfect for dipping (though I had to find someone to ask for bread because they do one of those "choose one roll at a time deals"). The raviolo was covered in a sheet of parmesan, but unfortunately the corner of my sheet was the rind and so probably should have been cut off. It's a cute idea, but it's like keystone cops on a plate trying to get a bite of everything organized.
I tried the scallops and they were perfectly prepared, melt in your mouth. My friend said his sturgeon was fantastic, but I didn't get a chance to try it.

    Entrees:
I had the dayboat cod. It was buttery (read, BUTTERY) and delicious, hot in the center, cooked a bit over what I'd prefer, but still great. The lentils were a nice accompaniment; cooked really well, though the chorizo that was mixed into the lentils was dry, tough, and felt like a weird bacon bit-sh afterthought. I wish it hadn't been so butter heavy. I understand cod is a bit of a bland fish, but I think there are other ways to make it interesting beyond dousing it in butter. It needed acid. It wasn't a huge serving, but I couldn't get through it. Though don't get me wrong, butter is delicious.

My friends loved their duck and monkfish. The bacon-wrapped monkfish was delectable, I'd recommend that if you go, but the duck breast was a bit overcooked for me. It was still pretty tender and tasted good, but the server had asked my friend if "medium rare" was ok for the duck, and it definitely came out he duck more medium/mw.
I've been once before and had the pork, which was, unfortunately, dry. They didn't take a temperature on it, and it came out medium well and... dry. The set it came with was to die for, but the pork was dry. What's the deal with over-cooking here?

But the food was good, high quality. I enjoyed it; I'm just nit picking after the fact. The flavor combinations are interesting. It was Monday BYOB (which is a VERY cool move on the part of Dressler), so I brought our wine. It was a good bottle of Amarone, I understand the sales lost with no wine sold, and I wouldn't bring something that wasn't worthy. That said, I can't comment on their wine.
But the real problem was service.

Service was astoundingly nonexistent. Our server
    a) took our order
    b) refilled our water glasses, once with the addition of ice spilled all over the table
    c) nope, that's it, just a and b.
Never did he even come over and ask how ANY of our food was. That includes appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Not a SINGLE "how is everything?" As a fellow server I am both inclined to be overly kind and, yes, overly expectant. To NEVER ask how a diner's experience is going is unheard of in my book. We finished our bottle of wine; he never asked if we wanted more (we did). He asked if we wanted coffee as he cleared our empty dessert plates. As he took AWAY dessert...
    And to add insult...

We were clearly right next to an important table. Which is fine, I understand it, I've been there, it's true, not all diners are created equal. But to sit next to a table that was being catered to hand and foot from course to course, while we were ignored completely, was a hard pill to swallow. To see the manager go head over heels to make sure they were having a good experience and never ask once how our dinner was (or have anyone ask how anything was) was a big old blow to my foodie/food service pride. To go above and beyond is fine and dandy, but if it's at the expense of another patron, it's not ok (in my 'being the other patron' book.) If our meal had been seamless, we wouldn't have cared/noticed what was going on next door. Unfortunately, it was so laughably contrary to our experience, it was hard for all of us (who wanted to love our night out) not to comment on it. For the money we were shelling out (even without wine, the place is pricey), we didn't deserve second class treatment.

    Buuuuuut we still tipped 20%.

The food was some of the best I've ever had - especially the hangar steak and veal cheek. Coming from Kansas City, it's hard to impress me with red meat, but they managed to make everything literally fork tender and bursting with juicy meatiness. The scallops were seared perfectly - with a carmelized exterior and mousse like interior. Scrumptious! Everything they served was incredibly well done in a technical sense and was a complete delight to the most primitive areas of the brain stem (salt, fat, and sugar: hooray!). The lemon and EVOO cake along with something like chocolate lava cake were memorable.

The food deserves five stars, and it's actually not too expensive. Even with wine you can get out for less than $100 if you don't splurge. However, I dock them a star because:

    - Food was delicious but pretty standard. I was hoping for something more inventive and for the food to be presented better
    - Lack of a tasting menu / sommelier
    - The service could have been a little better, especially given that we were there a bit early (7 pm or so).

Best roasted balsamic chicken with potato dumplings and garlic spinach ever. The meat was tender and juicy (hard to do for chicken) and lightly breaded and crispy.

Appetizers: you must have the crab cakes and the scallops. Both will melt in your mouth. They also serve some seemingly house-baked whole wheat buns before the meal.

The decor: dark and ambient with a gothic feel. Red walls and droopy chandeliers. There seemed to be a diverse range of people there from young adults to senior citizens. Everyone looked good.

The downside: the prices. At $80/person for an app, entree, and wine....still worth it.

The crispy baby artichoke salad and Scottish salmon were out of control. I would go back just to have that salad again. The duck breast was also good, but in retrospect I would've ordered something else, I felt like it wasn't as delicious as the other two plates.

The Sazeracs were tasty. The service attentive, but unobtrusive. The ambiance was terrific, picture a fancy restaurant went into a bar for a few cocktails and came out a brasserie in the evening, tipsy, but still elegant (although a large party next to us became pretty loud after a few rounds before heading out). The bill, expectedly pricey.

All things considered, quite a pleasant evening out.

Came here for an early brunch with a companion. Was very pleasantly surprised with fantastic decor and ambiance, good service, and delicious food!

My eggs benedict was delicious! I was sad to only see one cheddar biscuit, but the amount of food was just right. Came with a nice simple side salad and home fries which were so good. I also got a side of bacon that was cut thick and cooked to perfection.

My mouth is watering thinking about this meal... see you at brunch!

Overall it was a great meal. We ordered the diver scallops and the veal cheeks for appetizers. Both were excellent. I would order them again without a question. Main course we had  the duck and the pork chop. Same thing as the appetizer. They were great.
Overall there was not a bad moment during dinner. Every aspect from the food to the service, to the restaurant itself was perfect.

I wanted so badly to give this place 5 stars, really I did, but in the end I just couldn't. I came here a few weeks ago with a friend who was just as excited to give this place a try and we overall had a great experience. The service was top notch, the decor was a nice blend of classy and hip (check out those chandeliers!), and the drinks weren't half bad either.

We started with a pair of appetizers, the grilled octopus and quail, and both of these were very good. I was a little weary of ordering the octopus because I usually am not a fan but I think it may have been the highlight of night. The meat prepared just right and wasn't overly chewy and the bed of chorizo and lentils it was served upon was likewise very good. The quail was also flavorful and the only slight downside was you had to work it a little to get the meat from the bone.

Now, the reason for the missing star. We had our main courses come out and I had ordered a special lamb shank and my friend had the bacon wrapped monk fish. We both agreed that while both were pretty good, they fell a little below our expectations of a Michelin starred restaurant. We capped the meal with a decadent chocolate souffle cake which had us nearly melt in our seats.

I definitely look forward to trying this place again and I hope that this experience was the exception and not the rule.

I've been here quite a few times since I used to live in the area and I recommend it for an array of different occasions be it date, valentines day, or just drinks. To be frank, the value here is super high considering this place has a Michelin star and the food reflects that. Definitely do a tasting here with friends or a special somebody if you can. You wont be disappointed.

So happy we ventured to Brooklyn (hey, it's not easy leaving Manhattan) to try Dressler.

Started with the Market Oysters - Wellfleet's from MA - they were very fresh and came with an excellent sauce.

I tried the Long Island Duck Breast which was cooked just how I ordered it - medium rare. There wasn't a lot of fat on the duck and the saltiness of the skin paired well with the tenderness of the meat. The sauce it came with was good, not mind-blowing, but there was not a drip of it left on my plate at the end. The risotto was cooked in chicken broth, making it lighter than most risottos. It was perfectly cooked and the butternut squash cubes were a welcomed addition.

My boyfriend tried the Pork Loin and was just as satisfied. Cooked medium, the pork was tender and the vegetables that accompanied it were fresh and cooked well.

For dessert I tried the Banana Tart tatin - it was amazing. There was a little too much of the pastry part for me, but the components worked well together. It came out warm with a small scoop of ice cream on it - highly recommend this to end your meal.

Cocktails were just ok. The Picante Mole and the Oxacan were a but watery, but both were strong.

The space is cozy with a good vibe. Service is good, not over-powering or annoying.

I'm glad I found a good reason to come back to Brooklyn :)

Anyway quick list of must-have items from the menu -
FRENCH TOAST with blueberries and vanilla marscarpone sauce.
    HOME FRIES
And I am still drooling over the ARTICHOKE salad with ever-so-thinly sliced and crispy fried lemon. Mmmmmmmm!

First time here, and the service was 10/10,  The food was a 9/10 (or a 4.5 on the yelp scale).  The space is small, intimate, dimly lit and cozy.  My water glass was always full, when my girlfriend dropped a fork a busboy handed her a new one before she could even reach to pick up the fallen soldier.

We started with the crispy Jerusalem artichokes with arugala, shaved parmesan, lemon and creamy garlic base.  I can't imagine a better appetizer to start things off with.  The crispiness of the artichokes added a great consistency to the dish against the bright flavor of the lemon juice and parmesan-coated arugala.

I ordered the lamb roast confit over fava beans and my girlfriend ordered the Scottish salmon over roast cauliflower and brussel sprouts.  Everything was cooked exactly as ordered and subtly seasoned.  The only reason I gave the food a 9/10 was because the confit portion of the dish had a large piece of fat dominating the meat, and the confit ended up being a very small portion of an already small dish.

We ordered the banana tartin for dessert, and as someone already said in their review--it was fantastic.  Highly recommended.  Candied Macadamia nuts sprinkled around the plate where the focus is a flaky pastry crust lined with sauteed bananas and caramel sauce, and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Great dish to end on.

We ordered the Beau-Site red from Bordeaux, which I loved.  It was dry, earthy and well-suited for any red meat dish.  I enjoyed that the fruit flavors were depressed, and the mineral flavors were upfront.  Very similar to a dry Napa Cab, like a Louis V. Martini with more tannins.  I'm no wine expert, but I do know what I like and thought it was very good.

Came here for Sunday brunch and I'm dying to go back from dinner! Why's that? Because I had the best BLT i've ever had. I was the fatty who ordered the Winter BLT for breakfast but there were no regrets. The berkshire pork belly tasted like REALLY fantastic chinese pork belly and I love how they reinvented the classic BLT into something else. Feeling like you want to treat yourself? Get the Winter BLT. DO IT!

My dining companions ordered the omelet and eggs benedict, but I didn't think it was anywhere as good as the BLT.

The cocktails were pretty good, but my friend thought her "Greenpoint Ave" was a little strong for a Sunday lunch.

The staff were friendly and our waiter was exceptional - attentive and friendly.

Would definitely come back from another brunch. I want to try the smoked trout or the crab cakes!

I've been here a few times now, but my first experience was the best, by far.

The place is gorgeous, well designed, with intricate work you just don't see in new establishments anymore.

The bartender I believe is also the owner, and if he isn't, he sure knows his stuff.  The cocktails he made my wife and I were amazing.

Food here is very good as well, and the overall experience is extremely positive.

Many reviews act as cheat sheets on what & how to order when you walk into a restaurant.  I do it for reference all the time!  With a restaurant like Dressler I feel there isn't a need.

Dressler has always provided me with a great dining experience.  Whether I'm getting brunch with a friend or taking the gf out on a date.  This place truly has all aspects covered.  The decor, food, the staff, etc...as cliché as it sounds, it's in the details.  If you haven't been my advice would to make reservation and give it a try.  Order what your feeling that day & you won't be disappointed.

I recently moved to Williamsburg, so when I was asked by my mother, who rarely leaves Manhattan, to pick a restaurant for my birthday dinner, I had quite a few options to choose from. The Dressler offered everything that I could have hoped for and more. I had requested a booth in the back to ensure that we would have some privacy as I believe we would have felt crowded had we sat at one of the tables in the front. Management accommodated my request even though there were only 3 people in my party.

We started with the scallops and the special of the day which was a grilled octopus. Though both dishes were succulent, our main courses cemented The Dressler as one of my favorite restaurants. I got the bacon wrapper monkfish on a bed of shrimp risotto. Finger licking good.

Not only was every dish that we ordered impeccably cooked and seasoned, but the ambiance was intimate and the decor aesthetically pleasing which I greatly appreciated. I hadn't written a review on Yelp in quite some time, yet this experience compelled me to dust off the old typewriter. That is truly a testament to the kitchen, the service and the decor of The Dressler.

As i entered Dressler i felt myself being taken back to another time, a time when etiquette elegance  well tailored suits and top hats were the norm.  The decor is ornate beautifully crafted unlike most fabricated restaurants of today.  The Iron and metal work throughout the restaurant is amazing and really gives you a feel of the past but all of that didn't stop us from being ravenous bohedonist pigs!

Every drink was perfect. It was as if the bartender knew exactly how i liked it, not to sweet not to strong just right. Boy did our bill reflect at how much i loved them! (drink list at bottom)

I first indulged in a Beet & Navel Orange Salad greek yogurt, feta, cucumber, mustard greens & dill. I love me a citrus tangy salad, i wish i fought the other forks off for more.

OMG this was my absolute favourtie blew me away... Elmer Fud eat your heart out, Bugs Bunny never tasted so good! Rabbit Ragout fresh herbed ricotta, Parmesan, fava beans, parsley.... drool

By the time my main came i was already in seventh heaven, could i handle to get higher off of this addictive food? This dish was rustic and felt less like nyc and more like home. The Long Island Duck Breast was crispy and seductive. the meat was a perfect pink it melted in my mouth. It was paired with wild rice, roasted peach puree & wild mushrooms.  By the time i finished i had to undo the button of my jeans... oh mon due? in a fine dining restaurant? i know, classy, right? We were gluttonous pigs and im not ashamed in the slightest.

I wish i could remember dessert but i dont at all!  I was either distracted by my attractive date or was it the downright delectable cocktails?  actually who am i kidding it was both!

Dressler is perfect for romance. Go there and be swept away to another era.

Dressler made me seriously re-evaluate why the only meat I eat is fish/shellfish.

Came here with a group of coworkers to blow out our budget at the end of the year (oh wait I mean, we came here to have a nice team holiday dinner...blowing out the budget was just a nice addition to the evening). We all tried their cocktails and while I had been most excited to try the maple mojito, it was the Greenpoint Ave that really stole my heart. And not just because I'm a proud Greenpointonian, but that may have had something to do with it.

We all shared some apps and I will say that the only disappointment for me of the evening were the crab cakes. As a Marylander, it's the one thing I allow myself to be self-righteous about and these were more like lemony crab balls. Wasn't a fan. My Scottish salmon entree however was superb and I briefly considered licking the plate when I'd polished off the actual food portion, but I feel like a restaurant with chandeliers probably frowns upon such blatant bad manners. A fellow coworker ordered the duck (which looked so incredible) and I briefly considered throwing self-imposed dietary restrictions to the wind..

Of course we couldn't say no to dessert (even though the company card was begging us to at that point), so we ordered a gingerbread cake, some sort of molten lava chocolate cake of wonder and mascarpone cheesecake. They were all excellent but...oh jeez, the chocolate thing was the best.

This place deserves its Michelin star, there's no doubt. The only negatives for the evening were the aforementioned crab balls and the fact that they don't leave the wine bottle at the table, so a refill is at the waiter's discretion. We were a table of lushes, so allowing our glasses to be empty for any length of time was just unacceptable.

I knew Brooklyn especially Williamsburg had changed in the more than 10 years since I lived there but it wasn't until I was at Dressler that I realize just how bougie parts of Brooklyn had become.  Dressler is where 20 something hipsters go once they realize how silly they looked in their kitty knit sweater and start to dress like the neo-yuppies they always were. Luckily they will get food that is far better than many hipster comfort food places in a place that has timeless style.

Everything about this place screams establishment, tradition and comfort and there isn't a darn thing wrong with that. While the decor is definitely going for a formal style the food and service was totally approachable and modern.

Every single dish we got delivered was excellent. It probably helped that my dinner companion knew the owners and some of the kitchen staff and so we went with their recommendations as well as getting some extra treats but I definitely got the feeling that even without that connection the food and service would have been excellent. The place was full on weeknight and the service and the food was super smooth.

In some ways the food reminded me the California cuisine I eat all the time with lots of good ingredients cooked perfectly and in other ways it reminded me of classic French with a really good display of technique and preparation.

With starters in the teens and entrees going up to 35, it's easy to spend over a 100 dollars without drinks but I really felt like the food matched the prices and was worth it.

The bartender was great about making me mocktails and the wines my dining companion had paired well with our dishes.

All the starters were really good and very complete dishes and the duck in our entree was wonderful. Everything worked well together and the portions were perfectly sizes especially for the price point.

It's the kind of place you can bring your date, your friends, your parents and even your grandparents to and they will all feel comfortable.

I had the cod, she had the monkfish.

The atmosphere was great and the food was good. The service was...peculiar...Overly attentive in some aspects and very aloof in others.

    Would go back.

I came here with a girlfriend of mine to celebrate her birthday.  We had 9 p.m. reservations; they told us when we got there at 8:58 that the table had their check and we were waiting until they left...cue 9:48 when we finally sat down.  It was alright, we had a seat at the bar, and soaked in the decor.  The bartender was lovely, and the drinks were delicious.  There was no problem converting the tab over to our dinner bill either, which was lovely.

Dinner was absolutely delicious!  We shared the oxtail ragout with fresh herbed ricotta, parmesan, fava beans & parsley, which I cannot recommend enough! So delicious - and the portion was definitely large enough to share.

For dinner, I had the LONG ISLAND DUCK BREAST ($30) with Brussel Sprouts, Butternut Squash, Apple, Wild Mushrooms & Red Wine, and my girlfriend had the PRIME HANGER STEAK & BRAISED VEAL CHEEK    ($35), with Boulanger Potato, Creamed Spinach & Bordelaise.  I have to admit, the hanger steak was better simply because the veal cheek was AMAZING!! I highly recommend this.

For dessert she had the chocolate soufflé and I had the banana tart, which was melt in your mouth, leave you wanting more, delicious!  I could have done without the soufflé..it was more of a cake-thingy than a soufflé anyway. All in all, a delicious meal!

Now, I have been to my fair share of restaurants in Brooklyn over the years.  And I can safely say, now, that Dressler is hands down the best I've ever been to.

Now, perhaps it might be a crime to order a steak from here, when Luger's is just across the street.  But, I wasn't wrong.  I actually really loved my hanger steak.  It was cooked medium rare just like I wanted.  Tender, and the bordelaise sauce was great too.  It came with some veal beef cheek, which was also tasty.  I'm typically not a fan.  And the duck?  Yeah, also one of the best I've ever had.  Granted, I'm only new to duck, but I've had duck at some other fine establishments (River Cafe, Perilla, Lincoln, etc) and this was awesome.

I also must say that the Tres Verde cocktail is awesome.  Jalapeno, cilantro, cucumber.  As you can tell, it's tres verde.  And ridiculously tasty.

Wine list is good, but we opted to bring our own wine -- corkage fee is $40, but if it happens to be your birthday, well, certain things can be arranged.

The service was also excellent -- our waitress was extremely charming.  Overall, this is truly an exceptional restaurant.  The vibe, decor.  Everything.  The only downside is that it's out of the way, but well worth it.

The atmosphere is great.  Nice old music, recessed brick and vintage touches.  Our server was a little slow to take our orders, but his service was impeccable after that.  I'm also gluten intolerant and he did a fantastic job of ensuring everything I ordered was gluten-free.  I had perfectly seared scallops with truffle oil, pancetta, mushrooms and celery root puree  I had a second appetizer as my main course (and still didn't finish it!) - quail with a different type of mushroom, different type of ham, with a cheese grits cake.

I even mentioned to the waiter that it was my husband and I's anniversary (of meeting - not wedding anniversary!) and we got a little candle in our maple panna cotta, which was a nice touch for a semi-special occasion!

This will definitely be one of our go-to places in the neighborhood.

Ventured into Brooklyn for Friday night dinner. Really loved all the dishes we had ordered for that evening. The restaurant is extremely pretty just wish the place had slightly more lighting to appreciate the details.

    Ordered :
QUAIL with Cheddar Grits - Presentation of quail is rather cute. grits were absolutely lovely
OXTAIL RAGOUT  with Ricotta - Absolutely delicious. The fresh herbed ricotta perrrfecttttt
LONG ISLAND DUCK BREAST  - Duck was cooked perfectly. Everything absolutely wonderful (a must)
ST. LOUIS RIBS - fall off the bone style, sensational

Hopefully come back to try several of their crafted cocktails.

Fantastic spot located across from Luger's.  Located in Williamsburg but sans the hipster vibe, Dressler is a cool, classy, intimate spot albeit small so better make a reservation.  The brunch was great; had the Dressler which is eggs benedict with sturgeon(seasonal) which was fantastic and one of the best benedict dishes while my gf got the brioche french toast with sauteed apples and vanilla marscapone which was out of this world good and filling!  Would like to come back and try dinner.

Decor: very dark actually... Candle lit, I had to use my cell to read the menu actually... Music is old school jazz type of vibe.  Rustic environment.

I started with a small plate of crab cakes instead of the features appetizers.
They weren't traditional, but still delicious.
I was satisfied and they were very very small so I had more than enough room to make it to dinner.
Unfortunately my waitress broke my heart when she told me they were out of the pork loin!!!! But I decided to get the bacon wrapped monk fish, I mean seriously how wrong can you go with pork!

    Side complaint:
I'm not used to waiting so long I between courses but there was certainly a lot of down time between my appetizer and my main course... Now to think about it from dinner to dessert as well.  The booths are cozy and intimate but not really suited for more than four people... It can get tight, but thank goodness they have coat check!

On to my review of my main course:

The risotto was a dream, there was shrimp, and buttery heavenly goodness!!!
My monk fish was delicious as it was the first time I've had it.  The portion size was appropriate.  There's no way to over stuff yourself.  Leaving room for dessert of that's your thing.  I will make one critique, it is a bit difficult to get through the shrimp risotto after the monk fish is gone because its very strong(all you taste is butter). Hand and hand though, they work perfectly together.... It's certainly not a meal suited for those who are calorie conscious.

    Dessert:
I got the apple tart, swapped for the brown sugar ice cream. The ice cream was good but I fail to report I hated my apple tart.  The crisp dough was ok... I guess but the apples I didn't care for at all... I wished I got the chocolate soufflé cake as the others at my table devoured it!!!

I would've loved to give them 5 stars, but that dessert was awful and quite frankly the service was the slowest I've experienced in a long long long long time. All and all I would come back, because my appetizer and main course was fabulous and every one else at my table was really satisfied with their complete meal.

One of THE best egg benedicts I've ever had. Hollandaise sauce was JUUUST right, and the eggs... PERFECTLY cooked. That yolk ran all over my CHEDDAR BISCUIT in a perfect flow. MMM.... flavors were just right, and even though I was STUFFED towards the end... I ate EVERY last bite. I couldn't bear to leave anything behind because I would've regretted it til the day I die.

Okay, so besides that perfect EB, the smoked trout was great. It's a different twist from smoked salmon, and it came in a nice crepe wrapper with perfectly paired frisee and green apples. Flavor combinations were great.

The French Toast was also delicious. Brioche bread = SLIGHTLY crispy edges with FLUFFY interior. Not too sweet, so it was just right. You can taste the cinnamon too. It went nicely with the EB, but it still came in second compared to the EB.

Setting/Ambiance: a bit dim, not the BRIGHT sunny place to go for brunch (unless you sit outside). Bar right at the entrance, so it's got a bit of a more casual feel.

Service: Super. Friendly, but not over the top. Lots of smiles and good recommendations. Water was constantly filled. No complaints.

Definitely a great place to hit up. I think the 1 star pertains to the food rather than the ambiance. Dressler serves dishes that you've most likely had or  heard of before, but where the 1 star rating comes in is the fact that everything on that plate goes together perfectly. Of course, I've had eggs benedict before, but never in perfect harmony with every single other ingredient. The balance and combination of flavors were just stellar in every single thing we ordered, and I can only imagine how much more of that shines through for dinner.

Very happy we decided to come here for my father's 60th birthday.  He figured we were going to Luger's for steak, but was very pleasantly surprised with our meal here.

The 20's style dining room is elegantly appointed with great lighting.  Large, mirrored chandeliers hang from the ceiling, kind of like vintage disco balls. Very chic space without being pretentious or overdone.

Every dish we tasted was absolute perfection.  I'm a hard critic who has eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, so it's very rare that I feel this way.

We started with oysters - they were undeniably fresh and so flavorful.  Then, we split the artichoke heart salad, diver scallops, quail, and smoked trout.  Everything was cooked flawlessly, and the artichoke especially artful and flavorful.  For main courses, the duck absolutely blew me away.  It was so delicious and unusually lean yet so succulent as duck should be.  The light mushroom infused sauce that it came in complimented it perfectly.  I tried the salmon, which was also good.  For dessert, the chocolate souffle was sinful and rich.  A great ending to a wonderful meal.

I'd say overall, the food here is very earthy.  This isn't a super trendy place with food that let's down ....it's all about fresh ingredients, delicious, hearty food, and attentive service here.  Go!

I'm totally a fan!  A tad too salty on the dishes.  My sister and her husband had recommended this highly, and it lived up to its billing.  My father is a hard man to please when it comes to food, but he was real impressed.  I can't wait to go back!

Fine dining (of the Michelin Variety) in Williamsburg.  Unheard of, and awesome.

Dressler is directly across the street from that hovel of a steakhouse called "Peter Luger", and is everything you might want in a Williamsburg restaurant.  Excellent cocktails, outdoor dining, and they even take reservations (unlike that shanty hellhole of a place called Peter Luger).

We started with the heirloom tomato & watermelon salad (hollaa!!!) and the small plate of St. Louis Ribs, which were literally falling off the bone.  I followed that up with some Scottish Salmon, cooked rare, over cream corn and basil oil.  Damn.

Skip dessert and finish the meal with a nice Averna, Cynar, or Sambuca.

Oh, and did I mention you can eat from the sidewalk during glorious outdoor post-hurricane weather.  Awesome.
