This is a great store! the people are very friendly!! If you're looking for ANYTHING vintage, this is the place for you! Even if you're looking for something that is "up to date" but not mainstream, you will find it here! I didn't get anything this time (I didn't have cash, and they don't take credit or debit, from what I've heard) but I will defiantly be back to get the things I was eyeing.
I LOVE ALL THE HATS!!!! Vintage or not, the are so nice! They have dresses that would also be great for prom!!!
Yes, I am giving them 5/5, but there is one thing I didn't like. It's not a big deal, but I don't like it: I found it very tight and a bit claustrophobic. And the fact that there was no music/sounds playing made it a bit awkward when there was other people in the store.
Overall, Dressed In Time is great!!! I am defiantly heading back very soon. Don't be like me and ask them for help if you need it... CHECK THEM OUT!!! -

Dressed in Time is a gem. I love pieces that are a bit funky and have a vintage flare, and this is the perfect place to find them. The prices are reasonable and it's a welcome way to find clothing when you aren't in to whatever trends are currently dominating EVERY store (I have curves. Skinny jeans will never work with me. Stop being everywhere, skinny jeans. You can exist, just let normal jeans exist, too.)
Ahem. I digress. You won't find denim here (unless it's really unique) but you will find great pieces organized by decade. Staff is also very helpful and will often disappear into the back or into some far corner to pull out suggested pieces. -

Who needs a time machine? At this extremely cool little shop full of wonders from bygone years you can enjoy take a peek at some of the memorable (in fashion, anyway) icons of times past without having to go all H.G. Wells or Doc Brown and shut yourself in your basement for the next 5 years trying to unlock the secrets of time and space or something crazy like that...
I'm really glad that Halifax has a store like this, and I hope it's around for a long time to come. I love the thrill of the hunt that comes with second hand shopping, the chance to find that perfect item, for an equally perfect price. When the mood to dig for such potential treasure arises, Dressed in Time is a unique and interesting spot to check out.
First off, the staff are wonderful. Friendly and engaging, they really know their merchandise, what they have and what they don't, and are eager to help you find what you are looking for, without being pushy or hovering over you while you browse.
Their stock itself consists of a WIDE variety of items of from varying decades past, and there seems to be a little bit of everything here, and something to appeal to everyone. It can also be a great place to visit when putting together a costume. One year for Halloween, when dressing up as a gypsy I bought a great peasant top, flared skirt, gypsy-style dress here. A good friend of mine found an awesome top hat at this store for a costume of her own a couple of years ago. -

I love this vintage store and always find something exciting amid the crowded shelves. The owner has a good eye and understands what brands and styles will be of interest to their customers.
My husband is a photographer and he often finds unique clothes and objects to use in his photos. -

A welcoming busy store of gems. Se dresses for $25, and a few very special pieces as high as $140. (though i didn't browse the gowns) A bit of something from many eras well curated and all looking in good shape. A hopping place on a sat afternoon, could use one more dressing room. Loads of shoes, some quite lovely and old (40s) in good shape. Hats, caps, coats-- loads of ladies dresses for day, and night, etc . Cash only , ATM nearby. In biz 11 years. Really friendly. Got two very special unique pieces in good shape from 1940s. Well priced! I will return again on my next swoop thru town!!

Every summer, when I come back to Halifax, my first stop has to be Dressed in Time... and then it feels like home again!
Vintage/second hand clothing shops are among my favourite haunts and between NYC and Helsinki, this still has to be my most very favourite one of them all!
Gosh where do I begin?? It may be little, tucked away on Brenton street, but bursts with the loveliest pieces from long gone times- from shoes to dresses to cowboy shirts to motorcycle jackets whew! A veritable oasis of hip for all the cool cats and babes in town.
You can easily while away hours sorting through the neatly arranged racks of clothing, listening to Neil Young- who always seems to be on when I'm there :) and chatting with the owners who are basically the bees' knees: helpful without being pushy, keen to shoot the breeze; they always make you feel comfortable.
So, with a selection that never ceases to make my heart sing, prices that are still pretty affordable for a student like me, and the coziest setting you could ask for in a shop, Dressed in Time is pretty swell in my book! -

Dressed in Time is a jungle of vintage and kitsch. Be prepared for tight quarters and a floor-to-ceiling sensory experience. Both men and women can finger through racks and tiptoe through footwear offerings in a squeamish fit of joy.
Its definitely a great place for leather boots-- mainly of the cowboy/girl variety. Although, any pair I took a liking to seemed to be too large for my 6.5 tootsies. (Lots of Size 9!) Oversized sweaters and blazers are frequent, as well as a full rack dedicated to Hawaiian shirts. Aloha?
The store is a tickle trunk of opportunity, and a chance to mix some eccentricity into your wardrobe. The overall flavour is cute and quirky. Hats and purses come in all shapes and sizes, and call to an older time. Those looking to support the fedora trend can find some decently priced, vintage sorts here.
This is a great spot to peek through, and a likely place to find a gem. Try not to be alarmed by creeptastic mannequin attached to the phone pole outside. Its a worthy visit for those in the market for some outlandish vintage. -

This second hand shop is absolutely bursting with every type of imaginable vintage wear! The couple that runs 'Dressed in Time' also collects a lot of formal second hand items that are coming back and of which you would pay $$$ at Urban Outfitters, American apparel, etc.
'Dressed in Time' is also a great place to check out around Halloween. Lots of funky options! Last year, I found a pair of plaid golf ankle pants that fit Mark perfectly. Now I just have to try and convince him to actually wear them golfing...
*'Dressed in Time' is cash only! No tax though! -

Jam-packed with some goodies, Dressed in Time harnesses its display powers by using every inch of space for presenting merchandise.
Along the periphery of the entire store's floor, you will find shoes and boots galore. Jackets, dresses and tops line the walls with the occasional hat precariously perched overhead.
This is a fun shop to frequent as they have a diverse selection of vintage and kitsch. For some reason or another, I don't often find treasures for myself, but perhaps the stars just aren't aligning.
Add this boutique to your vintage-Halifax map. The owners are eager to offer assistance and you're bound to at least be delighted by the funky selection. -

Dressed in time is a fun little store that is best suited for hip ladies and tiny guys. Even though I don't fall into either of these categories I still enjoy browsing the shops great and eclectic stock.
Dressed in Time is a little hidden, but generally on the beaten path. Just venture off Spring Garden and look for what appears to be a woman tied to a telephone pole and you're there! The store is a little tiny and can be especially tight if there is more than one other patron, but that's fine.
The quality of clothing in the here is pretty amazing, beyond the awful (not ironic awful...just awful) band shirts there is a great assortment of hats, boots, dresses, pants and jackets for those of you looking for that perfect vintage flare. The clothing rarely fits, but when it does, I'm always quick to make the purchase.
Dressed in Time has fairly reasonable prices for most of their items and is cash only, so be sure to drop into the bank before you head down to do your treasure hunting! -

I now understand why there is a mannequin strapped to a pole outside this store. It's not to scare the living daylights out of people; instead it's the only way people would know the place is there. Unless you're looking for it, blink and you miss it.
I don't mind the items in this store, especially considering it's second-hand. I usually find some used clothing stores to smell musty and carry some pretty ugly things. That's not what you get from Dressed In Time, though. It's got a great selection of various eras.
The people running the place are pretty cute people. They've got interesting style and somewhat out-going personalities. Just the people I would expect from a fun, funky, up-to-date second-hand store. -

Don't let the freaky mannequin strapped to the phone pole outside scare you - Dressed in Time is worth exploring. This funky, jam-packed little vintage store is run by a helpful and talkative man who will go out of his way to help you find what you're looking for. There are plenty of amazing items in here for both men and women, from dresses, sweaters and jackets to hats, bags and shoes. I was looking for cowboy boots and when I was unable to find something in my size the owner popped out to grab the rest of his boot stock (he orders in bulk from Texas!) so that I could check the rest. Very nice of him, and it will definitely make me a return customer.
