Came here yesterday for a birthday celebration. My mom's friend is a regular here so she knows all the good dishes (most are OFF the menu!). All 12 of us were Chinese and thought it was fantastic. Definitely don't get the crap buffet. The dishes are much better quality and worth more of your money. Don't really know the dishes in English, but highlights were seafood soup, bamboo fried rolls with sweet sour sauce, taro fried duck with mushroom sauce, stirfried mushrooms, seafood pots, and fish filets with corn. Mmmmm...
Prices are decent (~250$ for the 12 of us) and service is nice. Atmosphere is pretty much a typical cheap chinese restaurant. The food was definitely the highlight though. Definitely give it a try; It's probably one of the decent places to have REAL Chinese food in Ottawa. -

Somewhat on the depressing, mediocre side... I knew this going in. So why did I bother? Nostalgia, I guess. I grew up not too far from this part of Ottawa, and I had a craving for crap Canadian Chinese food, and this is what I got. Dingy and unimaginative interior (though the outside inspired more confidence, I suppose) with a run of the mill buffet, Dragon Tavern is not trying too hard to impress. You could do worse (hence the 2 stars), but there is little to differentiate Dragon Tavern from the competition.
