Dragon City Mall is one of my favourite visiting digs, I mean I swear I am there at least once a week, I get my watch batteries replaced there, my favourite hairstylist is there, I get my pants hemmed there, my favourite bubble teas shop is there and I totally get my din sum and sushi cravings filled there. Well it is a nice feeling walking there I know most of the shop owners now so sometimes I sit and have tea and it really is like travelling to the orient which is a great distraction to the weather we are having inside.
But what people don't know about Dragon City is that at one time in the early 90s it was actually an office building. Plus when they originally constructed the 3 levels they actually consulted with a FENG SHUI master. The mall is said to bring peace or good fortune to anyone who visit. NO WONDER I AM ALWAYS THERE!
How lovely, a mall out of the cold, with all the amenities, that brings you good fortune and peace anytime you enter...there is even a karate dojo on the third floor. -

Now Dragon City is my kind of place. Set in Calgary's burgeoning Chinatown, the Dragon City Mall is everything your conventional westernized North American mall is not. Although I don't speak Chinese and although I have no clue as to what any of the signs or products are, they all look awesome.
Mainly, I used to come here for delicious Thai subs and bubble tea. I no longer live near the area and don't frequent Dragon City much anymore. But this store brings the orient to Calgary and offers a little bit of everything. One'll be pleased to hear that Dragon City is relatively cheap compared to going to Chinook or something. -

I love love love Dragon City Mall. Located right in the heart of Calgary's Chinatown, Dragon City Mall transports you to a farway place within minutes. The stores, the goods, and yes, the prices, all take you to the East Asian side of the world, without the 'hours on end' flight.
Whether you're lookin' for some good ol' Chinese candy, spices or bargains, Dragon City Mall is sure to deliver. They've got everything from pork buns to pokey sticks, DVDs to car accessories, Dim Sum to the latest East Asian Fashions. It's no wonder that Dragon City Mall is known as a one stop shop! -

I went there with four people very disappointed, Fung Shuie'd or not. Sorry to all of you who like it there. Owners of the stores seemed welcoming!!

Dragon City Mall is AWESOME. I don't know why I love it so much but I do. From the DVD store selling $3 DVDs of Chinese Operas and Dramas (and the occasional western best seller) to the Asian candy store to the second floor's tiny fashion outlets that sell cheap jewelry and leg-warmers, there is always something to love. They have an anime and stationery store, several tasty restaurants like the King Fisher and the Regency Palace, Bubble Tea galore and a calm, feng shuied atmosphere. It's tiny, but if you're in the area for dim sum or other it's perfect to kill an hour or two and see what there is to see.
