I was there yesterday for a hydrating facial.  It was my first time at Dove Spa!
And what an experience it was it!

The decor, the ambiance is really, really relaxing... very calming! And the background music is very soothing.  I waited in the lounge for barely a few minutes before Angie dropped in to introduce herself. Book with Angie! She was amazing! Not only does she complete a skin assessment for you but she walks you through every step of the way... she goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed!

My skin feels so soft even after being out in this harsh weather all week-end!

Went to Dove Spa yesterday, to use a Gift Card that my boyfriend gave me for my Birthday. I never go to Spas (unless it is to work in one).. so it really isn't like I have very much to compare it to, but had a facial there, The ambiance was very relaxing .. I would have fallen asleep if it had not been the attendant trying to engage in a conversation with me! :S.. The service I received was overall good.. although having to select an add-on, I unwittingly added a hand and forearm massage ( being a Massage Therapist myself (read: loaded with tension in my hands and forearms).. i was about 100% certain that this "massage' would be far from satisfactory..  and was right, as it did feel a lot more like she was applying lotion to my  hands and arms..

Overall  nonetheless a good experience, and will be back, since I still have $50 remaining on my Gift Card.. but likely wouldn't pay to go there on my own!

I tried the eyelash perm, eyelash tint & eyebrow tint:

Eyelash perm: I have dead straight Asian lashes, so maybe because of that I got minimal results. Just a few of my left outer lashes got a slight curve but that's it! Ok, I got a slight general lift but it didn't meet my expectations at all.

Eyelash tint: Again, I am Asian and my lashes are already black, so saying that the results were minimal is expected.

Eyebrow tint: She said my eyebrow hairs took to the tint quickly so she removed it and showed me the mirror. I didn't like the way she shaped them, more thick and short than I'm used to but I didn't complain. She also told me that the tint would darken my skin so I would last longer. I showered that night and most of the tint washed away :(

Although I paid over $80 for practically nothing, the customer service is good. I called the next day and told them I wasn't satisfied with my results with the perm (I didn't bother complaining about the other two services) and they gave me a credit for future services. But I think most spas will do that anyway.

I'm going to try the eyelash perm at Upper Village Spa near Eglinton West station. They claim they provide excellent results and that the perming solution is why some perms work and some don't. So we'll see!

UPDATE: So I got my eyelashes permed at Upper Village Spa and my lashes are so curly! I explained that Dove Spa used the 'clips' that look like lash curlers w/o the handles, so the esthetician at Upper Village used these 'rollers' to which she glued my lashes prior to adding the perming solutions, and they came out so much better! Also had her tint my eyebrows, which came out darker as well.

I love getting spa pedicures (read - $50 spa pedi not cheap $35 mani/pedis). But alas I can't afford to buy them as often as I'd like so I tend to mix it up between the two types of places. When I saw a Teambuy offer for Dove, I decided to try out their pedi and I'm so glad I did!  The staff were really friendly, they offered herbal tea (with the natural blossoming flower in it), the pedi area was clean, relaxing and comfortable. My esthetician (Angie) was really great, although I felt bad that I just wanted to chill and read magazines so I was not very forthcoming with the chat, but she totally picked up on it and let me relax. The pedi itself was fantastic, my feet were super hydrated, buffed and polished perfectly. I love that they also use SpaRitual (vegan/dbp free) polishes.

I really liked the facial I got there, but I don't trust Dove products (and other regular brands like that) very much. I prefer organic facials, with all natural products.

I was lured here by the free facial offered by signing up on the website and I used a Teambuy voucher to add on a chocolate body wrap.  I really like the hours they have here - there is plenty of time to book services on weekends and later on, plus the subway makes this location very accessible.

The decor of this spa is borderline clinical, but overall I was impressed by the fresh and clean appearance of everything. When in doubt, sparkling white exteriors inspire more confidence than earthy tones (that might hide dirt and dust).  Everything has a polished white veneer and the staff wear uniforms and appear very professional.

I really liked the skin analysis test too - again, I'm not sure if this is part of the clinical aesthetic/pseudoscience, but I thought it was fun.

The spa room for my treatment was spotless and very relaxing. I think this was the closest I've ever come to sleep during a spa treatment - it was heavenly and none of the products gave me any issues.

I really want to love Dove Spa.. the environment is lovely and so relaxing -  a great quiet lounge, nice peaceful music, painted quotations about  natural beauty (a bit ironic when I'm spending two hours and more than $100 beautifying), nice friendly staff, beautiful flowering tea, fruit-filled water, bamboo plants, etc. However, the quality of service is always just so-so (probably time to go somewhere else) - not terrible, but  not spectacular, considering the prices.

I first went to Dove Spa because they were giving away free facials if you sign up for their newsletter (Which by the way is worth signing up for because they have good monthly promotions - this summer, they offered free manicures with a pedicure and they currently have a two-for-one facial promotion).

i think they are more focused on fancy body wraps and treatments more than basic spa services, like waxing and nails. When I had my facial, they did a skin test to determine to let me know what types of products I should be using, and they also offer a free treat, such as lip/eyebrow wax, hand/foot massage, nail polish change; etc. The facials are great and they have a lot of different ones to choose from (such as the photofacial, which stimulates muscles to creat a natural 'face lift'), but my freebie was a total fail... I chose the eyebrow wax, and she missed so many fine hairs... not much atttention to detail at all. And, when I got a pedicure, my nails chipped a few hours later!

So, it's an okay option if you live in the area, but it's definitely not worth going out of your way for it..

Who knew that Dove had a spa - well I did, and when I went to review it, it was no where to be found on Yelp  - so please welcome the Dove Spa to the site.

I happened to find this place as I was walking by about a year ago and they were not open yet.  They were giving away free facials.  As anyone who knows me well I LOVE free things!  About a month passed and I called to get my free facial.

The staff was very very pleasant on the phone and when I arrived they were very welcoming.  The spa is not that big, but it does offer all of the standard spa services and a few extras like St. Tropaz spray tans and holistic therapies.

You are given a robe and are taken to a waiting room with lemon and strawberry water.  The walls are filled with sayings that are positive and the atmosphere is very Dove like - clean, white and crisp.

Each treatment happens in its own room and the great thing about it is that you get to choose the music.  So if you're not into the sound f birds and waves you can choose from 1 of 4 stations - classic, top 40, spa sounds and nature I believe.

The treatment bed is amazing and so comfy.  I'm not a back sleeper but I would be if that was my home bed.  Each facial is personalized after a facial analysis and you are treated to a special treat if you are getting a 60 min facial.

The facials are very good, but pricy, much like all of their services.  I happen to think that this is due to the location that they are in.  There are also 2 other locations - Kingsway and Oakville.

I would recommend this place to anyone and it's great for a quick pop in.

Also, go to the site and sign up for the mailing list - you get a free 45 min facial just for signing up and you can upgrade to 60 mins for just $20.  It's a great deal seeing as their facial is regularly $90.

I was given a $50 gift certificate to the Dove spa when I was buying a gift for a friend, so I thought I'd try it out. I went in for a Brazilian wax, and I'm disappointed to say it's the worst I've had in a while. Despite being instructed to hold, stretch, and move around in ways that were embarrassing and uncomfortable, the esthetician missed quite a bit of hair. Also, I was waxed yesterday, and I'm STILL red and sore. I've been waxed numerous times before, and I've never reacted like this.

The spa was extremely clean, and the esthetician was very professional and personable. But I definitely won't be going back.
