Bacon makes everything better well everything except that movie Monsters Ball. No amount of bacon could have made that movie better. More about bacon later.

While staying at the Executive hotel my girlfriend and I stopped in here and had a few Manhattans by a very welcoming, friendly bartender. She kept us entertained as we sat at the bar and kept the Manhattans coming, including one to go back to the room with.

Prior to heading up to our room for the night I got hungry. So I grabbed a menu and it was love at first sight. Bacon-wrapped deep-fried oysters. While waiting for heaven-on-a-plate to arrive, a drunken local sat down beside us and kept shouting Obama and "yes we can" to anyone he thought was from the U.S. It was rather humorous. He sat with us for awhile talking about random things but I couldn't pull my mind off the fried goodness heading my way.

My beautiful plate of pig-wrapped, salty shellfish arrived and I didn't have time for talking to Obama guy, only eating so I mentioned something about hockey being on TV to distract him and that seemed to do the trick.

The oysters were so good and the bacon complemented them so well. My girlfriend who strongly dislikes oysters tried one and wanted more. See, just more proof that wrapping things in bacon does make them better.

A great place to grab a drink and some bacon wrapped oysters.

Was I having a bad-hair-night? Hopefully it was just me and not others with me nor those at DOUBLES.....the other night.

Early evening visit - hoping to catch the last of HH here and/or a quick bite and beverages. BUT:

-1: no hostess with a happy face.

-1: non-attentive bar staff who were apparently preoccupied with fellow workers' woes.

-1: no HH beyond 6 pm, no oyster specials (compared to most other bups and diners in the area.

We had 1 drink, each, at the Bar and departed for a more lively and attentive scene.

Hope to go again and have the opportunity to pull back the minuses.

Oh, I got my hair cut the next afternoon.....hopefully I won't have another bad-mop let-down.
