RIPOFF. I pre-purchased services and they closed their doors. Rita Dominelli woundn't return my phone calls nor my e-mails. I see they are now offering online courses - they've now become a SCAM.

I would give ZERO stars if it was possible. If you do some research you will find out that numerous violoations that this "spa" college has.

They even sold thousands of vouchers on a spa website knowing they were legally forced to shut down, leaving many customers/students stranded. Luckily I got my refund. It's companies like these which give others a bad name. SHAME ON YOU DOMINELLI'S! -

In December I bought a spa voucher online for Dominelli as a gift for my wife for her birthday. She called yesterday to book her spa session but was told very rudely by the person at Dominelli that they were not open until September. The person answering the phone did not even say the company name when answering, my wife had to confirm she was indeed calling Dominelli Esthetics College & Spa. Wow, that's professional!!! Here my amazing overworked mother of 2 wife finally had a free few hours to enjoy her well derserved spa treatment only to get Rudy McRuderson blasting her for no reason.
I have filed a claim with the group coupon website (Dealfind) and will update with their response. In the meantime, Dominelli is closed, but I suggest avoiding them if they ever do re-open.
Update: I did get a no fuss no muss refund from Dealfind a few days after I called them. -

Wow I meant to post this a long time ago (last year) ....I had purchased a few vouchers through dealfind to Dominelli for spa services and it seemed like a good deal. When I called, they mentioned that they were fully booked until January 2011 but were not booking then. The receptionist suggested I call a few months before January to book. Time went by and around November I wanted to book, but there was no voice mail option and no one ever answered the phone. I contacted dealfind and was able to get a refund. It totally makes sense now if they closed down. The receptionist was never friendly when I attempted several times to book. To hear the other reviews, it sounds like it wasn't a good place to begin with.

Don't ever ever go to this Dominelli College of Esthetics located in Burnaby. They are a total rip-off, overpriced kits which is not so reasonable for the cheap tools and implements they give you ($3-4g). They make money of you doing paid services on clients, so half of the week is they teach you and other half is doing services on clients. I know students will learn and be prepared after they graduate by doing service but the school keeps the money but you are also paying tuition fee to be at school.
Second, they don't treat the students very well, the staff gossips about the students which is very unprofessional, and they (including the owner) don't want any students to talk about them, or make an issue about the unfair treatments the students get from the staff.
Third, before leaving the school, the students have to clean as in sweeping, mopping, sanitizing/wiping the washrooms, lunch rooms, students practical area etc (hello?), tuiton fee is almost $20g's including the kit. Students are paying to be in the school to learn and they are not janitors. They don't have any janitor in the school!
Fourth, they advertise a program that is not registered to PCTIA, all private schools should register all their programs to PCTIA, PCTIA regulates all private school.
Lastly, former students have tried to get their money back, filed complaints to PCTIA and sued the school, one is even in the CNN news, you will find it if you search for it. The school has also been closed by PCTIA once or twice due to not following to their rules and regulations. New students who attended the class for few weeks also tried to withdraw because of all the reasons i mentioned above, but they cannot because the school will take 30 to 40% of the tuiton fee depending on how long they attended the class.
So before enrolling in this school, think twice and consider other esthetic schools, for now they are closed but i don't know if they will re-open again on September. I know all of this things because i was once a student of Dominelli College and i was a victim, I'm owing a lot of money to Student Loan because of them. They haven't refunded the money that they are suppose to to the Student Loan!
