We came here on a friday night after dinner at Factory Girl. It was packed of people, but the staff was still really patient and friendly.
Although I should have avoided dairy it was like the creamy chocolate gelato was beckoning me!
There's lots of seating.
Small 2 flavours is $3.75, medium 2 flavours is $4.25 -

Maybe I just don't like gelato, but I definitely don't like waiting 15 minutes in line for it, either.
I heard they have waffles and cupcakes and other things, but I'll be damned if I could see them through the wall of people. AND if you're in line for 15 minutes, surely you could have done everyone a favour and picked your flavours BEFORE you ordered. Instead of making everyone behind you wait through an excruciating humming-hawing episode.
Let me short-cut this for you: they're all gelato. Order one!
On top of being too busy, not very clean and, sigh, not even that good, Dolce Gelato is also pricey and loud. Case in point, the apartment above it have been for rent for months.
Sadly it is one of the only destinations for a frozen treat on the Danforth. You can always go to Coldstone, but every time I do, I feel like the people look at you like you're nuts when you actually order a Coldstone at Tim Horton's. Like they get nervous when they realize you're not joking and open up the manual. Like what are the steps?
1. Scoop.
2. Put in bowl.
3. Enjoy.
???
I digress. -

Domo arigato Dolce Gelato!
Me loves me a good gelato, and this new location in Greek town does the trick! The best part is they allow for two flavours with a small cup. I love my frozen treats, but I really don't need much of it to satisfy me. Here I managed to have to my favo-combo of Oreo Cookie dough and Tiramisu. Score!
It's a perfect last stop after a meaty souvy meal.

Exactly what the Danforth area needed, a place for frozen desserts! Coming out of Chester subway station, Dolce Gelato is nestled amongst the many Greek restaurants along the Danforth, a great location to go to after a meal or on a hot summer day.
As you walk into Dolce, there is a modern and trendy vibe that's exhibited throughout its interior design. There are plenty of tables to sit at to enjoy the wide variety of desserts offered (biscotti, cakes, tarts and cupcakes). You can sample the gelato before making your choice, small cup starting at $3.85.
My usual gelato favourites are usually anything nut or chocolate base (Bacio is AMAZING). Service is friendly and patient, as you try out different flavours before coming to your final choice.
If you're down in the mills for your gelato fix, definitely check out Dolce!Listed in: 30-Day Yelp Challenge:…

Gelato!
Dolce Gelato is a great addition to The Danforth area. I am a little bias when it comes to frozen dessert especially when it is hot out!
Great selections of flavours, Great Services, Opens Late, Trendy Vibes and there are NO ice cream parlour in the area that is as good as Dolce. Or I am not even sharing there is any??!
Yelp Drinking Buddy really enjoyed his choice of gelato... and I love gelato so much that I am enjoying my gelato even when I am coughing so much... cough cough... YDB can I taste yours?? cough cough...Listed in: Icecream! Gelato! Fro Yo!

Pricey cupcakes!
R promised himself never to buy cupcakes from Dolce again! The kids only ate the bottom part of the cupcakes as my son said he can taste the sugar pieces off the red velvet cupcake. A kid complaning that its too sugary, that got me concerned. -

Mmm... I love ice cream, and I love gelato! Everytime I visit Italy, I don't let any trips go by without loving gelato!
Came here and ordered my usual favourites, nut-based flavours: Nocciola (hazelnut), Bacio (chocolate with hazelnut).
Lovely to just bask in light sun, enjoying gelato and people-watching.
I've only gone to a few handfuls of gelato places in TO, but I'm satisfied enough to not even wonder how the grass might be in other pastures.
Service was good. Free samples, if you so wish, of any flavour, Prices run around $5. Clean environment. This location isn't too far from Chester subway station.
*I've been told that the difference between gelato and ice cream, is that gelato is milk-based (as opposed to cream-based). -

My husband and I were anxious to try the newest dessert neighbour on the Danforth/Greektown. Walking into Dolce, we were pleasently surprised with the renovations of the old Kokkino Restaurant. The modern dark wood and the sleek furniture brings a classy feel to the usually drab dessert joints on the street.
Since we just finished exercising and were feeling pretty good about ourselves, we decided to share a small cup of gelato. When we approached the cash, we were told that they ran out of small cups, so we had to buy a medium cup at $4.75. Normally, I'd be happy to buy a larger cup of anything gelato/ice-cream related, but this medium cup was definitely a "small" medium cup. With Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone Creamery minutes away from Dolce, I don't know if I could just justify paying almost five bucks on a "medium" (small) cup of gelato the next time I come to visit.
There were about 10-15 different flavours of gelato--ranging from chocolatey, nutty and fruity. The nice girl working let us try a few different flavours--we asked to try, even though we had already set ourselves on the Bacio (chocolate hazelnut) and Pear. The Bacio was amazing! Big pieces of hazelnut in the gelato---definitely a Nutella experience! The Pear was a little on the sweet side--too sugary and not enough natural Pear flavour.
In terms of sweet treats, Dolce also sells biscotti, cakes, tarts and cupcakes. They were advertising the Red Velvet cake outside of the store. The display could be brightened a bit to make the cakes look a little more appealing. Next time we're going to try the Red Velvet cupcakes. We've been waiting for the danforth to have a red velvet queen and we're hoping that this may be the place! -

Dolce Gelato is a trendy ice cream parlor in Greek town. The gelato is very tasty, the service is good and the atmosphere is really cool.
*** DESSERT ***
I ordered 2 small scoops 1 Ciocolato and 1 Fruti Bosco.
* Ciocolato *
It takes like chocolate, but not too sweet. You can taste the creaminess and the texture is really soft.
* Fruti Bosco *
This is a combination of different berries. It's not too sweet and has a bit of tartness from the berries. Once again, a soft texture, though not creamy.
*** ATMOSPHERE ***
The decor is really nice. The furniture is modern and classy. There is some artwork and lighting on the walls. The display for the ice cream and gelato is good because you can see from the top down - good for tall and short people. There is music playing, but mostly you here the muffled sound of conversations around you.
*** SERVICE ***
The service is good. You just place your order at the counter and give your receipt to the next server who gets your gelato. They work quickly but are patient as you make your selections. It's service with a smile since the servers look happy and treat you well.
*** PRICE ***
2 Small Scoops | $3.57
The pricing seems a little on the expensive side for just gelato, but it's all they do and it's good, so I'd say it's moderate.
*** ULTIMA PAROLA ***
Dolce Gelato is a great place for a cold dessert. The restaurant looks modern and the service is good. The dessert is not overly sweet, which is perfect for an adult palate. If you're in the neighborhood, looking for dessert, stop in at Dolce Gelato - you won't be disappointed.Listed in: Sphenopalatine…
