I just moved back to Mississauga, after five years of living abroad. One of the biggest pains has been finding a family doctor. Somehow there are a lot of walk-ins, which is a great concept, no doubt, but no family doctor seems to be accepting new patients. I called around 8/9 patients, and they're all willing to see me as a walk-in, but somehow they have no opening to take on a regular? Colour me confused, but I hung in there. Finally, I came across Dr Uzma Chaudhry at this MCI clinic.
A friend of my sister's recommended her, saying she's really good. Art this point, I would have signed up anyway, but when I went to have a bief introductory meeting with her, she really was super nice and patient. What I liked the most was that she seemed knowledgable (I kind of want that in my doctor) but wasn't arrogant (a nice plus! ).
She listened, asked relevant questions and voila, now I have a family physician! I'll be going back for my annual check up later this week, but overall, I feel much better knowing that I have found a good doctor.
