Review from Chris P.
The staff here are fantastic despite the abuse they have to put up with from some of the patients that come here. Let's take today's example:
A nurse comes out from the back and asks anyone that has a cough or fever to put on a mask. She then does a demonstration for everyone on how to properly put on the mask. Finally, she looks around the room to make sure everyone has theirs on properly. As the nurse is looking around at everyone one woman decides that the nurse has a personal vendetta out for her.
Lady: "I don't feel well and that doesn't give you the right to patronize me." (the nurse hasn't said anything, only made eye contact)
Nurse: "I'm not patronizing you I am just ensuring the protection of myself and the others in this waiting room from the spread of the flu"
Lady: "Stop patronizing me, there's no need, I'm sick and it is unnecessary."
Nurse: "Again, I'm not picking on you, just making sure everyone is being safe." (she then walks away)
Lady: "Bitch!" (she mumbles)
Aside of the waiting room antics the doctors are very good. They have excellent bedside manner and are straight and to the point. Generally the only prescription they write is a doctor's note to stay home from work, when there isn't a need for anything more serious. -

This is the clinic that turned me off clinics forever and had me SCRAMBLING to find a doctor asap.
I visited probably, 8 times in a few years because of the proximity to my office. The other.. patients. Are um. interesting. One of the last times I sat beside a man in a full sombrero and poncho combo.. in the winter.. in Toronto. I do not think he was trying to be ironic. I spent 25 min trying to sneak a photo of him with my Blackberry without any success.
The receptionists are curt to say the least. Basically, you come in, sign in and either leave to come back in an hour or wait there. Meaning, if you show up and there is no one in the waiting room don't be excited, the likelihood of 20 people being ahead of you and just offsite is high. The reception will give you no information, will not let you check in over the phone, nothing. They are exceptionally unpleasant.
So after the (minimum ever 1 hour 15 min) wait, you are placed in a room for a doctor. I have had a mixed bag - including a older male doctor who was.. um. opinionated, lets say. I wanted to discuss an issue I was having with birth control and he went on a massive tirade about PAP testing clogging up the system and how it is not necessary, and that the likelihood of getting cervical cancer is blown up in the media, and that women shouldn't sleep around if they don't want these issues, and Sex and the City... and blah blah blah. He then pulled out a flyer and told me to look into it on the website. I was SUPER uncomfortable. WOW.
I also had (what I thought to be) a very big medical issue that was really affecting my day to day life. I requested testing and they sent me for ultrasounds and some other tests. I never heard back from them, which I get is supposed to be a good sign, but I wanted a follow up as it was a collection of tests. I called and was told "they don't do that".
The running joke is that if you go here, you will return far worse off than when you went in. At least mentally, from the waiting room trauma.Listed in: Worst of the Worst, Medical Clinics - Keeping…

I cannot recommend this location enough, because of one doctor, Dr. Peters. She is by appointment only. I have a fear of doctors and clinics in general and she is the first doctor I have ever seen that made me comfortable enough to talk to. I never felt rushed with her, and felt as though she was listening to concerns. A +++ doctor- Thank You!

I have mixed feeling about this Doctor's Office.....I was there on Saturday the 30th of Nov...and well needless to say the whole process started on Friday. I showed up at 4pm thinking I could see a doctor, I was hacking up a lung, but they were CLOSED! Who closes on a Friday at 4pm??? Apparently this place has banker's hours.....not cool.
So I return on Saturday and make sure to get there early. There is a wonderful elderly couple sitting waiting to get in and yes we were about 30 mins early, but the place opens at 10am on a Saturday, I thought that the line would have been longer. As the clock ticks by two ladies stand near the door....I make eye contact to let them know that we are waiting as well. Well the door opens and they rush in....needless to say I was having NONE of that.....so I spoke up....the part that erked me most was that they knew we were there and that the staff didn't even ask "who was here first" after seeing that both myself and the elderly couple had wandered by the window a few times checking the door. They did how ever correct the process after I brought it up.
We were taken into the exam rooms quite quickly, and that impressed me. Once I saw the doctor, a Doctor Allan Tam, I was not impressed. He treated me with no bedside manner and as if I didn't know what my symptoms meant....I knew I had a chest infection - I get them 2 times a year...and I know what drug I need to be put on....a drug that he didn't put me on. I left with a hope that the meds would work.
I had to return to the doctors office on Wednesday Dec 2nd because after taking the full course of medicine I was still not even close to being well! Once again, I went in and this time the office was a bit busy, but they did do their best to accommodate me...I was feeling icky so they let me lay down to wait my turn. Something they didn't need to do, so that was a plus.
My doctor this time was a WONDERFUL doctor named Wendy Proctor....what a Godsend! She was so friendly and so sweet. She took the time to do a full check up and even sent me for chest x-rays. If it hadn't been for her I would probably still be sick ( I mean I am, but I would be much more sick). The first doctor told me I was fine to go to work when I really wasn't. She just made the whole process so easy and comforting. She gave me a doctor's note...something I would have had to pay for but she did it anyway...and just turned my whole opinion of this clinic around.
If you get sick, make sure it's a Wednesday or a Friday as that's the only time that Dr. Proctor is there....make sure you get her if you want to receive the best care. -

One of the closest walk-in clinics near my home and place of work, this MCI location located at 345 Bloor Street East (Greenwin Shopping Center) is always busy on any given day of the week. While I like to avoid going to the hospital by all means necessary, I had no other choice but to take a trip to St. Michael's due to the inability for the staffed doctors to help me with a condition or injury. The waiting time to see a doctor can be long and since it also serves a large part of the residents of neighboring St. James Town and the residential complex above it (77 Huntley Street), sometimes heading to St. Michael's is a better option to see a doctor in a shorter amount of time. Use this place is you really have to see a doctor for something like a common cold, otherwise take a cab to St. Michael's for serious conditions or injuries.
