Yum Alert. The Divan Kitchen is a hip, warm comfy place at Lonsdale & 15th that makes really really really delicious wholesome food. I had no idea that felafel, kebab and meatballs could taste so good. Oi.
High ceilings, huge windows, soft seats and good acoustics make this the perfect place for cozy conversation on a dark and rainy North Vancouver day. If you ask nicely, the friendly progressive owners will let you use their wi-fi to patch into your email as you savour raki, a traditional turkish liquor like ouzo -- or a bottle of one of their many fine whites or reds.

Their food is always good! We usually have the beef kebabs for takeout. It comes with pita bread, rice and salad. The beef is excellently seasoned. The kofte platter is also good! Great customer service!

Karin, you totally reminded me of the all the days that I spent in North Van a few years back. And of course, I was usually found here picking up food then making a stop at Book Warehouse to peruse the aisles or pick up the Straight.
I love this place! Great food, quick and super helpful service along with incredibly fresh fare.
What else do you look for in a restaurant? Authenticity? (Has that too, well as far as I know).
Love it and would definitely go back again! -

The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is laid back and friendly.
Take away containers are paper which is much more environmentally friendly that the Styrofoam stuff you get at most restaurants. -

I love the food here, I don't know what they do but even their rice tastes better than usual! Also the service is fantastic, the guy serving is always smiling and makes friendly small talk. After coming for dinner a couple times, he now remembers us!

I love this place, the owner is so friendly and helpful. I lived on Turkish food when living in England (authentic Turkish food made for Turks living in London who missed their mom's cooking) and really missed it when I moved in Vancouver. This is the only neighbourhood restaurant I know that serves Ayran (tastes a bit like liquid tatziki) and purple carrot juice! Two traditional Turkish drinks that are very hard to find in Canada. If you have not tried them, try them now!

Very very small but very very delicious Turkish food, which I have never had before. The Kofte is so yummy. So is the shepherd's salad. And the rice. Everything we've had there is excellent actually. Go! Support them!
