Review from Linda S.
Such great improv, between actors who've been working together for years and who are also great friends. Some years have themes more attractive to me than others. This year, the scenes are set in the 1920s, very "Boardwalk Empire" of them.
My favourite character ever? Jack Victor Sr. from three seasons ago. Although Jack Potts might rival him ... :)
I'm proud to support these great actors with my business. -

Die-Nasty is Edmonton's live improv soap opera and it is hilarious!
It happens on Monday nights at the Varscona Theatre. The show starts at 7:30pm and goes until 9:30pm. There is an intermission half way through the show. Admission is $10.
Die-Nasty (a play on the soap opera title Dynasty) is a comedic show of impov that is sure to tickle your funny bone.
At the beginning of each show, they introduce the characters and the actors are very good at making sure you know what is going on at all times. This is great because you can go for the first time and not get lost or confused as to what is going on.
This is not your typical improv at the Varscona though. There are no audience suggestions. All the improv suggestions come from the narrator of the soap opera. They also a live musician to play the cheesy soap opera music when things get going. It is so funny! The music adds so much to the performance; it wouldn't be the same without it!
The narrator tells us who is where and what is going on and the actors act on that prompt. It's really funny to see what they come up with (especially when the narrator decides to have them break out into song which he did at the last show I saw).
Die-Nasty is the best way to spend a Monday night. It's done early it's cheap! What more could you ask for!
