Ottawa has a plethora of shawarma places, and Rideau Street is clearly its epicentre. Some are must-visits, most are decent, and others are below-par. Unfortunately, Diamond Shawarma falls in the last category.
While to be fair, this reviewer has only visited once, based on this experience and from ancedotal evidence from others, the food is lacking in taste. On the plus side, two different sizes of Shawarma are offered to accomodate varying appetites. This choice is not something offered everywhere.
However, the chicken shawarma I had on an empty stomach (when most things taste great) was missing fresh ingredients and had a strange tinge to it. Despite my hunger, I didn't want to eat any more and passed it to a friend, who's enthusiasm of scoring half of a free shawarma waned once he too experienced its (lack of) taste.
They also serve pizza's here, which I have not tried and look to be decent.
