What can I say, I love this place! It's my office away from the office when I feel like getting out of my cubicle and being amongst the corporate crowd. Things that keep me coming back:
-The coffee, whether it is drip or espresso-based, it's delicious. Kudos for having a great soy latte.
-The food is delicious and filling and lactose-intolerant-friendly. Order the half-sized salad; it's HUGE and super filling because of the generous serving of nuts (and cheese, should you be able to digest it :) You can always add extra protein (e.g., chicken) to make sure you are satisfied.
-Free wifi!
-Great service.
-GREAT people watching, both within the cafe and outside, since it's located right of the corner of 1st street SW and Stephen Avenue. Lots of men in suits (bonus!)
-They serve wine and beer and have happy hour daily after 4pm! -

When it comes to coffee, I like my coffee and espresso rich and flavorful, but not burnt tasting like Starbucks. I think Starbucks junkies are delusional. When I go to a coffee shop, I always order a standard soy latte since I am lactose intolerant. It gives me a standard for comparing coffee shops. I have to say, I'm very pleased with deVille. Their espresso has great flavor, the soy milk they use is not too beany tasting. It was very smooth and enjoyable.
As far as service goes, the employees were friendly and fast. I think I only waited one minute from the time I ordered to the time I got my drink. The decor is modern. They also have a great selection of sandwiches and baked goods. They even have wine and Baileys!
The best part is that their lattes are actually cheaper than Starbucks! 16oz soy latte at deVille was $4.75; Starbucks Grande (16oz) soy latte $4.83. Ha! -

Like other deVille locations - the newest addition to the clan is funky & modern, in a great location, and serving delicious coffee & treats.
*They've been open since February 2010
My first experience here was on a Friday afternoon, just before the hour I like to call 'rush from the core' - this is ideal people watching :))
We obviously chose a cozy red booth right near the window so we could watch the world go by.
My friend had the almost famous Nutella Latte (I always recommend this to friends purely due to it's popularity - I've had but one sip of this treat, it's a little too decadent for my taste). I had my usual Americano. Perfection.
Be warned, this coffee shop is based in the utterly fabulous Fashion Central building - 3 floors of luxury retailers including Betsey Johnson, Motek, and Beauty Land. If you're anything like me, you might go in for a scone and walk out with a purse.... oops.
The combination of bustling fashionista's, free wireless, cool decor & tunes, and some of the best joe in cow town, makes this coffee shop a favourite on my list. The only thing that would make this place cooler is if it was open later...
I'm yet to visit the Art Central location - stay tuned.

I literally parked right outside of deVille in Fashion Central today without knowing it was there. The best part is, I had pulled over to scout for the next cafe I wanted to try.
My visit here was great from the first few seconds I walked in. I was greeted by the smell of fresh espresso, as well as by a gorgeous barista. Like Kate L M, I knew about the Nutella latte made popular at deVille, but instead decided on the hot chocolate. Made with Callebaut chocolate, how could they go wrong? (As a side note, I impressed myself just now by the fact that I spelled Callebaut right without looking it up first. Yes, I'm easily impressed.)
The room was spacious and modern. The hot chocolate tasted awesome and I look forward to visiting this deVille again. I think next time I'll try the Bailey's latte -- bonus points to deVille for coming up with pretty awesome combinations!Listed in: Calgary and area, Creme de la crema Calgary

Located in Fashion Central, the cafe fronts 1st Street SW with floor to ceiling glass. Enjoy sitting near the windows to partake in the street action or the seating that spills out into the central atrium. Its certainly a pleasant place to pass time and savour coffee.
Its a place for those seeking coffee akin to wine....the 'third wave of coffee' (google it :)) I love the beans that they 'pull', Intelligentsia. Being a coffee nut, the quality of baristas makes a world of difference. Coming here often enough, the espresso is sometimes a 8.5/10 or a 10/10. It really depends on which friendly barista you're going to get (even though its the same bean) . The nutella latte is out of the world too...Its a must for those who enjoy something a little more.... 'sinful'. lol
They also sell various Intelligentsia beans, so you can enjoy it at home.
One of these days, ill have to try their sandwiches or treats...

What a quaint little shop. The staff here were very personable and I stared in amazement as I watched one of the friendly girls make my salad in front of me. Literally. I saw what she was going to put in and I asked her to hold off on the onions. She replied, "they are so good, you should try them." I told her I didn't want to have onion breath for the rest of the day in the office and after she assured me that wouldn't happen because the onions were marinated and cooked, I tried them. Yes they were great on the salad and yes she was right. I had a nice decaf mocha and enjoyed the place. It was very quick, very friendly and worth another visit very soon.
