Designhouse provides one of those "looks good from afar, but is far from good" scenarios. I give them a 3, because I do enjoy doing a slow motion sightseeing expedition through their shop. Unfortunately the "far from good" kicks in when you hone in on the price tags.
They do carry a beautiful variety of contemporary home furnishings and accessories. Some of these lovely items, from coasters to cushions, have popped up in other shops in town at significantly lower prices. They even carried a bed that I fell in love with at Kasala in Seattle, but tragically it would've been cheaper for me to rent a truck, pay some duty and haul that bed from Seattle to Vic.
Writing this review I now realize that I've never actually made a purchase at Designhouse. What can I say? They are great eye candy and I'll enjoy them for my viewing pleasure as I would my Metropolitan Home magazines. Perhaps one day I'll nab a really cool, futuristic lamp, but for now I will stay a Designhouse looky loo.
