DeSerres has everything you need for pretty much any art project. Drawing and painting are come-and-go hobbies of mine and I've been around to a lot of different places over the years for supplies. DeSerres has a great selection, as well as great prices on a lot of drawing and painting supplies.

Staff members seem to keep to themselves generally but I've never encountered anyone who was unfriendly or unhelpful. The store is quiet and well-maintained, and it is easy to find what you're looking for.

The store has two levels, and the stairs between them are rainbow!! Okay, so that doesn't really say much about the shopping experience, but hey, it excites me.

This is a great store, and I'm grateful for it!

Full disclosure - I'm not an artist.  I wandered in here looking for a Christmas gift for my buddy's daughter, as she has been displaying considerable talent in that area lately.

Also, I may have been feeling slightly guilty about last year's gift.  Who would have guessed that a drum set wasn't a good gift for a four year old?

In any case, DeSerres appeared to have everything an artist could want, and a few things that they didn't know they wanted, but would probably buy once they set foot in the store.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to guide me towards the less expensive options.  That was a first.

I totally ignored their advice, but I still appreciated the effort.

DeSerres has pretty much anything and everything you're looking for, whether you're a new artist starting out, a Mom looking for kids craft supplies, or a serious artist. Paints, pastels, easels, boards, even fancy Sharpies!

The prices are fair, although some supplies seemed to be a much better bargain than others, so I found that I really had to dig through the products and figure out which one would be the most bang for my buck.

There were only a couple of staff members here but it was a Monday night, after all, so I don't think that's their busy night. I still found everything I was looking for alright and for a decent price, too!

Having two floors on the "quiet side of WEM" is a definite plus for this store. You can pop in and out without being bothered with the insanity that is the rest of the mall (except for the parking lot).

The prices are pretty decent and comparable to other art supply stores, but definitely keep an eye out for sales. If you can catch a sale on paints and canvases on the upper level, you WILL save a bundle. DeSerres also has a very well laid out childrens' section that never seems as cluttered or chaotic as other arts and crafts stores.

However, cashiers often double as floor staff so getting someone to ring you through on the way out the door can sometimes be a bit trying. They're always so happy when they get there though, so that usually makes up for it with me.

Formerly known as Loomis, DeSerres is an art supplies and crafts store that has everything you need, whether you're a full-fledged artist or just like to dabble here and there. This location at West Ed has two floors, with an entrance on each level. My friend and I lost each other here once, as we both got so distracted and mesmerized by all the different arts supplies they had here.

You can find supplies for painting, sketching, scrapbooking, framing, and beading here, with a large section for each. They have ready-made photo frames, or you can get one custom-made if you prefer. There are a lot of holiday items right now, which you can customize and dress up however you want. I like to come here for unique craft papers and card applique stickers, because they have such a great selection.

DeSerres can be kind of expensive though, especially if you're picking up a bunch of supplies for a project, it can really add up. But they usually have some items on sale, and it's always worth a look. I managed to snag some pretty good stuff from their clearance corner last time.

And DeSerres was the only place where I found a reasonably priced scrapbook too. Scrapbooks are usually expensive, and sometimes you can't find one you like because the selection is so limited, but DeSerres has shelves and shelves of them, and chances are you'll find one that suits your tastes.

I have fallen in love with DeSerres and have to visit it whenever I am at West Edmonton Mall.  The upper level of the store is full of fine art supplies such as pens, sketchbooks, canvas, easels, paint, and just about everything I can think of. The prices are mid-range, with the store's house-brand items being on the lower side.

The lower level has all kinds of craft supplies for kids to adults, including calligraphy, scrapbooks, and beads - lots of beads. I appreciate the fact there is something for everyone, even people who are not naturally crafty or artistic.

I recently got involved with artist trading cards, and was surprised to discover a bunch of different kinds of papers cut to the right size to create these small pieces of work, as well as small cases to keep them safe. I notice a lot of items here I have not found in other art stores, which makes each trip here like an adventure.

This is an artists dream store they have everything you can possibly need to get creative and best of all it's not just one floor but two!  This is a great store for anyone who wants to get creative and who is creative.  They have so many items that can't help but inspire you to create some masterpiece.  The store is very organized; everything is divided into aisles and is well labeled.

The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable, so they can help you out or give you advice on what to use when you want to get creative.  The best part of all is this store is a Canadian store!  Got to keep it in the family!

Holy moley, I wasn't expecting this store to be so big.

I decided to look for a sketch book, and a few pencils, while I was at the West Edmonton Mall and I came across this place.

I think I got more than I asked for, there were two floors of art equipment. It took me ages to find what I was looking for. Luckily the staff were very helpful and helped me find what I was looking for. You can also tell that the staff are artists as well, they seem to know the products very well.

This store might as well be the holy grail for artists in Edmonton. Unless you're a hipster artist that only shops at indie art stores or something silly.

This is a great store for artists. I think even someone who isn't into creating art would enjoy just browsing the store. The store is 2 floors filled with all types of art supplies.

The top floor carries things like paint, pens, sketchbooks, etc. The bottom floor carries things like beads, scrapbooks and more. It is really easy to navigate around the store and if you are looking for something specific it will not be hard to find.

If you are just an artist starting out the staff will be able to give you some helpful advice and information if you don't know quite what you are doing or what you need. If you are a true artist you won't need that help but you will be able to find everything you need here.

I finally checked this store out. I've seen a few flyers now and always meant to but rarely get to that part of the mall. I approached from the second level where it's mostly hardcore art supplies though I was fascinated by all the calligraphy stuff. Then I noticed the colourful stairs and was drawn toward them. I'm glad I descended because the main floor is where all the craft stuff is. They've got a long counter sort of thing with beads separated into squares. There was a bunch of jewelry making stuff, clay, fabric paints and scrapbooking supplies. Considering that it covers two floors, the store is huge! It's certainly worth a browse at the very least!
