Julie is the best. I have very sensitive skin, and normally when I get facials I break out afterwards and leave feeling like I took two steps back. Julie gave me an amazing facial, and my skin glowed afterwards, no breakouts or sensitivity.
She is also great with brows - she is helping me grow them out and get the shape I'm after. -

I recently went to Dermaplus and had such a lovely experience there. Julie was wonderful and she got the gentle magic touch. The setup was nice and clean, very relaxing. Since it was my first time ever getting a facial I asked Julie to walk me through what she was doing during the process. She took the time to explained the steps and was happy to answer any questions I had.
Dermaplus also have a line of skin care product that they custom blend for you. I love that Julie didn't try to convince me to buy the product, but rather told me to just wait and see how I feel post facial. Not pushy, i love that.
I'll definitely be going back to see Julie again. Absolutely no pain, no redness and leaving with flawless skin. -

I decided that it was time to start using skin care services in my neighborhood instead of sticking with people I know who are located across a bridge and, while I normally will ask for referrals for people working on my body, I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try.
I saw Andrea for a facial and she did a fabulous job and my skin wasn't even red or irritable afterwards as I've had with some other places. They were all friendly from the time I got there but not fake. The whole experience it was very relaxing.
Book ahead of time because it did take about a week to get a time that works but I'm glad I waited and I look forward to going back here. -

The best decision I ever made was buying Julie's facial products.
I've always battled with skin conditions with constant breakouts, and even when I'm not breaking out, my skin was dry or oily or sensitive or red. I've been using the cleanser, toner, and hydrating cream for a couple of months now (they mix it all in-house with just a couple of essential ingredients in each) and have noticed an immense difference in the way my skin feels and looks. I haven't had a breakout in a long time.. my skin cleared up really quick after I started using this as my regime. Julie and Andrea also told me to wash my face with cold water to get rid of the rosacea and it definitely helped. I just need to get rid of my scarring now, but besides that, my skin cleared up thanks to Julie's products and their helpful tips!
I went to Sephora the other day to stock up on new makeup and usually they'll notice my blemishes, but this time, they (they as in more than one) complimented my skin instead, which was completely unfamiliar to me.

I'm just a regular guy who had never had a facial before his girlfriend got him one as a gift and insisted he go. And go I did. Justine worked some serious mojo on my man face. I'm still not sure what she did. It involved many kinds of creams, scrubs, masks, tingles, and lord knows what else. There was some massage in there, too. And little warm glove things on my hands. I see why women do this.
As an added bonus, Justine is sweet, fun to talk to, and a consummate professional. She obviously takes great pride in her work -- she was thorough and meticulous throughout. I left feeling relaxed and clean as a whistle.
She also waxed the ol' brows, which I desperately needed as I was beginning to look like Frida Kahlo and Bert the Muppet's love child. She kept it all nice and masculine, so I didn't walk out looking like an angry Brooke Shields. No complaints on my end.
In short, I highly recommend Dermaplus -- even for the guys! -

I can't believe I'm about to put my business out here on yelp but here goes.
So my birthday is coming up and I decided to something out of the ordinary and get waxed; something special for myself and the bf to enjoy.
After extensive research and talking to a close friend of mine (trying to avoid horror stories at all costs), I decided to go through with leg waxing and a Brazilian. I found Dermaplus on Yelp (thanks guys), and after reading the reviews, I felt more comfortable exposing myself to a random aesthetician.
The receptionist was very nice over the phone, and welcomed the fact that I was new to the waxing world. She gave me great pointers for my first visit, like taking Ibuprofen, which made a big difference.
I did the leg wax first, and it wasn't nearly as painful as I was expecting. Andrea was incredibly supportive, and did a great job! I was completely hairless in under 15 minutes.
After that came the Brazilian...oh boy. Painful? Yes. Again, Andrea did a wonderful job of making it as quick and painless as possible, and it took no more than 10 minutes. I would absolutely reschedule with Dermaplus (in 4-5 weeks!) -

I just got a spray tan tonight from Megan and I loved it!!! Megan is fantastic! She is very friendly and great at what she does. She keeps you talking and makes you feel very comfortable so you almost forget you are naked! My tan looks great. We are taking our engagement pictures this weekend and am so happy to look naturally tan. It's amazing how much better a tan makes you look. I will be back again very soon! Thank you Megan :)

Julie is amazing. Even if I walked in with the brows you see in the pic, she would have been nice and tactful about it, I'm sure. I've been going for brows and brazilians for a year or so now. Ah. Maze. Ing.
I'll admit it. I was a brazilian virgin, and Julie got me through. The first is the worst, and even then, not all that bad - thanks to Julie.

I have never yelped before, but I am joining today JUST to yelp about Julie.
I have been going to the same lady for 5 years and to my surprise I called to make an appointment last week and she was no longer working there. I was shocked and nervous because I have never been anywhere and i trust her with my skin, but I had no choice so I started researching...
I came across this Dermaplus and it had amazing review across the board and customers raved about everyone that worked there.
Julie answered the phone and immediately I felt great about her. She was super patient on the phone, understanding and got me in right away and I think even made an exception for my appointment.
Once I got there, I again felt super at ease with her and felt like she really understood what I wanted and needed. She is super easy to talk to, enjoyable to be around and went above and beyond for my facial. She also has some great products, but does not force you to buy, but rather "see how your face feels" and then decide later.
The cost was great for what you get, plus the facilities are cozy and again I cant emphasize enough what a great personality and energy she has.
I am thrilled to say I found a new person in one try, so quickly and right down the street from me. I will not be going anywhere else for a long time! -

I'm so overdue for writing this review. I've been going to Dermaplus for years and have always enjoyed my experiences there. The owner, Julie, and staff are incredibly professional. You feel instantly comfortable - and that's especially important when someone is putting hot-wax on your body.

I'm a cheater.
It just happened. I don't know what I was thinking. It was horrible, and I am racked with guilt. I can't eat, I can't sleep, and I am sure they are going to find out. And I will have to lie. And round and round the circle of trust we'll go, right?
But if you've never cheated before, let me tell you, it feels awesome. So new, and different. So taboo. So GOOD.
My regular esthetician, Sarah, was out of town, so I absolutely had to go to another person to get waxed. And you know what, I liked her more. Oh my god. I'm so sorry, Sarah. So very sorry. God forgive me.
Next time I go she's going to notice. I KNOW IT. A hair out of place. A slightly different shape. Something I forgot to "cover-up" from my affair. You know how cheating goes. Something is ALWAYS forgotten. My new esthetician and I did all those crazy things you can't do with your everyday gal. All those fanatical positions you are anxious to try. On your knees. Feet behind your ears. Stilts and swings. Chains and handcuffs. Things Sarah only heard about in school but never imagined doing with a client. Oh god was Julie good.
But karma is coming for me, I can feel it. Ingrown hairs are a motherfucker. -

This story haunts me to this day: At ages 5 and 8, my older sister Carrie and I were at my friend's house and we were offered kit kats. There were two kit kats presented. I took one and as Carrie was reaching for the second one, my greedy little hand grabbed it away from her. AAAAAGH I HATE MYSELF!!

I am a picky little bitch when it comes to my eyebrows. I know that shit can make or break your face. I'm also Persian so I've had the eyebrow talk since I inherited that uni-brow from my Dad.
My mother has always been the one to individually pluck each little hair with love from my face while I squirmed & cursed.
But now living almost 400 miles away I don't see her as often as the hairs try to reclaim their throne over my gorgeous eyes.
Since I insisted on tweezing & not waxing [the idea of hot wax near my eyes & long eyelashes sounds scary] & had trouble finding a place. After calling around, I set up an appointment with Justine who saw me the next day. She did an AMAZING job. She took her time & made me feel super comfortable. She also never pushed me to do anything I didn't want to.
I've been back & it feels a little like I'm cheating on my Mom, but I think she would be happy knowing I have gorgeously plucked eyebrows.
My one request: I wish their hours were either on Yelp, or on their website. -

As a first time taker on the Brazillian experience, I'm sure I made Justine cringe just a bit at the thought of what lay ahead. But to her credit, the entire experience was... for someone sticking their hands where no hands but mine have ever been... very well done. She was sweet and friendly and I talked more about myself than I have to any other stylist/esthetician.
I'm pleased with the results and even more so with the price. -

I LOVE DERMAPLUS!!
I of course selected DermaPlus based on Yelp reviews. My boyfriend's younger sister and I scheduled a long-overdue spa day starting with facials in the morning, mani & pedis after lunch and a massage to top off the day.
I have to admit I was a little frustrated when I was informed that the esthetician who was supposed to see my friend had to go out of town last minute and that instead of both of us coming in at the same time, one of us had to go in at 9:15 (way earlier than we wanted to be up on a spa day) and the other at 11:15. However...the experience there completely made up for it.
Andrea is amazing and we will both definitely return for facials in the future! -

I am modest, therefore I will not write about my own experience with the Brazilian waxes but I will recommend this salon to anyone gutsy enough to go Brazilian based on my "friend's" experience with Julie, esthetician extraordinaire. My "friend' described the salon as very chic and said they even sell Kai body lotion and perfume- the best.
So my "friend" has been routinely getting basic bikini waxes at nail salons for her entire adult life, then when she ventured to try an "extended" she realized that it's actually much less painful down lower than where the traditional bikini goes. So this "friend" decided it was high time to go Brazilian and wanted to do it in a private, professional setting. This "friend" went to Yelp of course to find the best neighborhood spot and discovered Dermaplus. My friend was very happy with Julie's service and professionalism (owner and founder) and will definitely be back.

Justine is just amazing!!! She made me feel so comfortable and it was my first Brazilian experience. I thought it would be awkward and uncomfortable, but she made me feel like we were just hanging out and talking about life. I won't lie, it did hurt a bit, but Justine was so quick and fast about it that it didn't really bother me.
The ambiance was fantastic and DermaPlus is extremely clean. I couldn't have asked for a better place or experience!!! -

Thank you Yelp for leading me to Dermaplus! While researching facials in the city you pointed me to Dermaplus at the top of my search results. I was able to find Justine and the adorable space at Dermaplus! Everyone is so nice here! Otherwise I could never/would never have found this space. Housed inside an office building on Union it's probably the last place I would have looked - my skin was positively GLOWING at my wedding! Everyone kept complimenting me! Justine is a doll too! Her treatment was perfect! Gentle, cleansing, nothing too abrasive.
Ahh Yelp - I ma make fun of you from time to time but without you I would be missing out on a lot of hidden treasures in the city! -

Brazilian wax is quick, but they are WAY too quick. Twice already i was left with residual uglies and no tweezing was offered. Maybe i'll ask next time and see how they do.
They are usually great with last minute appointments, call and leave them a message and they are very quick with calling you back. -

I needed a facial - badly. My last facial before my trip to Dermaplus was in May '09....... Blackheads had been slowly invading my nose, and my entire face was on the verge of a hostile takeover.
Dermaplus saved my face.
My facialist was extremely gentle throughout the process, too - making sure I was comfortable the entire time (plus - that massage was soooooooo good!).. The ambiance in the room was relaxing (calming colors, minimalist decor, aromatherapy, and beautiful music), and when it was all over..... she told me to take my time. I was ready for a nap afterwards - so selective listening led me to "hear" an invitation to take one. Of course, I chose not to inappropriately indulge myself since I plan to return. Plus, I had to reach the nail salon soon after so I could be done early and make it to Wine Country in time for check-in and Pigs & Pinot later that evening.
I have to add, I wasn't sure what to expect since I was used to my regular facialist of 7+ years (who knew how sensitive my face was and prone to post-facial irritation) and frequent massages back home in Indonesia.. Nevertheless, my facialist was both informative and careful with my skin. A+, Dermaplus. -

I'm basically just repeating what's already been said 80 times, but Julie is so great I have to say it anyway.
I've had problem skin / acne since I was 10 or so and its gone through ups and downs over the past 13 years, never quite being what I want. Then I went to Julie. I come out of a facial not looking like a red sea monster-I can actually walk down the street! My skin looks great almost immediately! And the regimen she set me up on not only works, its easy-meaning I'll actually do it!
Julie also really cares and isn't just out to rip you off-every time I go in for a facial and buy products, she's so fair, and one time when she was running a little behind schedule, she totally adjusted my rates, which I really appreciated. Also, she doesn' t tell you that you MUST come in every 2 weeks or youre screwed-i.e-no unneccessary appts just so she gets more $.
You get the point-Julie ( and the other girls at Dermaplus :) rule-go see them! Oh, if you need an after-work appt, make sure to call well ahead of when you want it! -

Dermaplus was actually the first service I found through the glory of Yelp. Julie and Justine are both great, very professional and friendly. The cost for waxing is GREAT for the city -- and since there's hardly any place to go south of Market St. for decent beauty maintenance, I will gladly keep hauling over to Cow Hollow.
Update:
At this point I've been coming here for well over a year and I actually look forward to my appointments. I've had some fabulous facials with Justine. They use the TRUE line here, and I actually just purchased some moisturizer from the line because my favorite one from Eucerin got discontinued. I have problematic skin and in the week or so that I've been using the TRUE products regularly, my skin has really taken on a new life of its own. Like, at times it almost glows...pretty freaky. I'm downgrading my rating for Dermaplus, because my favorite esthetician left (Justine Kahn) and Dermaplus didn't even bother telling me in advance of my appointment. And I come here all the way from Woodside! I was not impressed. I found out that Justine has set up another practice (http://skinremedySF.com), so I will start going there instead.

June 2010 So now I've been going here for at least 3 years (I see Justine) and I can say that this is still the best esthetician experience I've ever had! In the meanwhile, I've had a bunch of their other services, like facials and spray tan, and the service is always wonderful.
A lot has happened since I started going to Dermaplus -- new job, new house, new baby -- but even though my trek here is now much longer (I no longer live in the city), I still come here faithfully every 8 weeks or so .

Fellow yelper Aviva R recommended this place to me and I completely agree that it deserves a full five stars. I just go for waxing, but it's the best waxing experience I've ever had. Very professional, very clean and very good prices. You can't go wrong here. -

Reason 1:
Great experience. Justine at Dermaplus was super quick and talked the whole time to keep me comfortable during what is sometime and uncomfortable experience. As for technique, Justine used a lot more wax than I am used to = less strips and less ripping, which is great. Will have to wait and see about the ingrowns...My other spa spends way more time (30 mins to 1 hour) with me and uses a ton of strips/wax = more ripping, but is also very careful and painstaking when it comes to my delicate areas. Justine was a bit harsher in this regard, but she got better coverage and I was left with way less leftover hairs here and there.
Reason 2:
I was 30 minutes late for my appointment, on a busy Saturday, and Justine still took me!!! Who does that?! Amazing. I called when I was hitting traffic and Justine was very nice and calm and told me to take my time. When I did finally get there, she was so nice and sweet, I can't imagine going anywhere else.
Note: This salon is a little hard to find. You need to be buzzed in, spa is on the 2nd floor of 1728 Union. -

Just got back from a facial at Dermaplus and it had been over year since I'd been there. Why the hell have I waited so long to go back? I feel great. My skin feels great. And I'm ready for more. Totally reasonable price. Super long treatment for the same price in other places.

It's a balmy spring evening in LA. My smoldering, yet brilliantly witty, date escorts me out of the restaurant as we head to our next fabulous destination. As we exit through the crowd I catch the eye of a woman who looks like the real-life Princess Jasmine from Disney's "Alladin". She gazes up at me, staring in awe, mouth a gape, and finally, as our eyes meet, she coughs out..."your eyebrows - they're incredible''.
The woman is Kim Kardashian and yes, she is in awe of MY eyebrows.
Rewind 24 months and I am sitting in front of Justine at Dermaplus explaining that I feel my cheap $4 job at the local nail salon is not the look I want. I want full, dark, luxurious eyebrows - I want Kim Kardashian's eyebrows. Justine just smiled and said she knew exactly what I was talking about.
12 months later I'm a year into my 'growth plan'. Justine and I couldn't be happier about my progress. Yes, patience is a virtue of all things - my brows are much fuller than they were a year ago and I am confident, in another 12 months time, when I'm exitiing that LA hotspot, even KIm will be in awe of Justine's work. -

Julie is the best; she cares about all her clients by following through. Although I just began seeing her I have been to plenty of facialists who would charge me a ton and then didn't care if I had good or bad results afterward. Julie booked me two weeks after just to look at how my skin went.

As most other spray-tanner-takers, I needed some color on my pasty-white body for a friend's wedding in Kauai & was lucky enough to find Dermaplus
Looking for somewhere close-to & same-day-as my my other prissy / vanity appt at Presidio Laser Medicine & especially looking for somewhere that would have an actual *person* do the spraying.......been burned by booth action in the past & wasn't about to take the chance of being all streaked or splotchy
Other prissy appt ended super-early so headed over right after & turns out I was the 1st appt of the day, so had the whole place to myself. Took about 15 min total from start to finish & the results were fantastic & I gotta tell ya, personal is the way to go - I'll never booth-it again!
Just enough color to not embarrass myself & stayed in place for the critical day - wish it had lasted a bit longer though - but whatever!
Will go again before my next HI wedding event......whenever that may beListed in: I'm So Vain.....

Derma Plus is my new Fave!!!!
I can't make it to my regular facialist at Burke Williams in San Jose due to it being so far from where I live in SF. My friend Amina B. recommended Julie (you can read her review of Derma Plus).
Julie owns Derma Plus and she gives the most amazing facials. At the time I went to Julie I had just stop taking birth control (tmi) and my face was breaking out like I have never experienced before. We're talking awful huge painful!!!! After my first facial with Julie, she gave me some awesome products that she blends herself and a couple months later, my face is finally back to its better self just in time for my wedding next week! Julie really cares about her clients and when I went back this week to get a test spray tan from Megan (who I will speak about in a sec) I ran into Julie and she immediately remembered me and we scheduled another mini-facial for next week before the big day! don't worry folks, we're just doing a little exfoliating and that's it...Julie refused to do anything more than that so as not to risk a break out before the big day. She is so nice and works hard to make sure her clients feel special! Thanks Julie!!!
Now onto Megan...yesterday I went in for my first ever spray tan to see if I would want one for the big day...Megan is amazing. She is so sweet and nice and made the whole process so easy. I am naturally tan so I just wanted a little pick me up so that I could look healthy on the big day. Megan is awesome, she was able to achieve just that!!!! I look healthy with a subtle hint of natural color. Thanks Megan!!!
All I have to say is if you are looking for a facial or a spray tan Derma Plus is the place to go. You won't regret it. I highly recommend! -

I always thought facials were princess-y and a waste of money. But after seeing the magic that both Julie and Justine can do to my skin, I now get regular facials.
Everyone at Derma Plus was genuinely nice and welcoming. The space is relaxing with tasteful decor - and it smells soooo good.

Today I got my car and my bikini waxed. Great experience at both (see my review for Magic Auto Detail).
I was able to get a same day appointment at Dermaplus. The wax was professional, fast, painless and reasonably priced (Brazilian, eyebrow and lip $75). The environment was soothing. Andrea was cool and easy to chat with. I just moved up here from LA and easily the quality was on par. This is my new wax spot. -

Hair Laser Removal - Aimee Lacour, ROCKS! I finally decided to look into hair laser removal for my upper lip and found Dermaplus on Yelp. They are close to my home and they got amazing reviews on Yelp so I decided to go in for a free consultation and just see how I felt about them and ask all the questions. I was nervous because I had never done this before and it's my face...I don't want anything bad to happen.
Aimee answered all my questions and more, she's also a registered nurse. I felt really comfortable so I set up my first appointment.
First appointment went GREAT! I was nervous and she put me at ease. I felt no pain, she's professional, quick, and really friendly. For my next appointment I decided to include my under arms.
Just had my second appointment and all went great, again. I am so happy with Aimee! I'm looking forward to getting more hair removed.
Overall, the environment and people at Dermaplus are great. Clean, relaxing, and the prices are very reasonable. -

Here I am writing yet another review for a waxing salon (for brazilian specifically)....as much as I love being a nomad and having the freedom to move from city to city, it gets tiring finding a new great salon! Let me say that I was very very happy to find Dermaplus!
First off, most important is the PRICE. The Brazilian is $50 flat. That's right, $50 FLAT. No fuss, no "sorry you had a bit more hair than usual so your price is $65." Yup, $50. For those of you who want to keep some of your womanhood, the price drops to $40 flat. The price alone got me hooked.
Next, the ambiance/decor. Gorgeous, gorgeous, and gorgeous! From the outside, I'm not gonna lie...the place looks kinda sketch. Located on Union street in the Marina, you'd expect a grand entrance from the sidewalk like every other boutique in the area. But no, this place is one of many little offices in a not-so-pretty building...you have to buzz the salon from downstairs to even get let in the doorway. But, after making it up the stairs (in a not so welcoming hallway), you will open the door to the most quaint, clean, heavenly place! I was 100% surprised to walk in the doorway. Candles, clean white against hardwood floors, friendly staff....2 thumbs up.
Third, QUALITY. My wax was great - I would have to say record time - less than 10 minutes. The wax strips were done fast and efficiently leaving me little time to even think "ow!" The overall job was great and I was pleased. I remove 1 star simply because a more thorough job with tweezers would've been nice (at least that's what I'm used to from other salons). I got home and was not too happy to attack myself with the tweezers...definitely would've been much easier to have someone do the job for me especially when I just paid for it to be done. Besides this one downfall, I was impressed and recommend others to support this local salon.Listed in: My Neighborhood

This place absolutely deserves its 5 star rating. I came here based on the Yelp reviews and was so happy I did! I'm trying to wean myself off of my Walnut Creek services and was excited to find that Dermaplus was so close to my house AND had great ratings.
Justine was a DOLL and is the *best* waxer I have ever gone to, hands down. It was the least painful, most comfortable waxing experience I've had. I was in and out in under 30 minues and am so happy with the results! The office itself is beautiful and relaxing and they have tea and water out while you wait. They also have a great selection of lotions, makeup bags, jewelry, candles, etc. for sale. This place is also one of the least expensive waxing places in the city, which is fabulous.
Had I not been familiar with the building, I think I'd be confused since you have to be buzzed in and then wander the building to find the actual suite. -

Hellllllllllloooo my new Yelp family! As my first official Yelp, I must let you all know how incredible my lovely Julie at Derma Plus is. Yelp was created for women like her. Here's the deal: be it male or female, body hair is an issue, and until we all laser our bodies from head to toe there is only one logical solution: wax (please please put the razor away people!). I see Julie for arguably the worst place on your body that wax could touch. If you need a place to go for your brazilians, I'm telling you--don't go anywhere else.
In case you aren't aware, waxing eliminates that funky stubble that you get from shaving (you know--the one that creates the wrong kind of bedroom friction), and (if administered correctly and consistently) overtime less hair grows back. Let me tell you--Ms. Julie the waxing goddess has changed my life. I've been going to see her every 3-4 weeks for my Brazilians for the last year and am yet to be disappointed. No lifting, no tearing--I leave happy and baby soft!
Perk alert!: Julie charges only $50.00 ($55.00 for your first time)!! In this city, most places charge at least $60.00 for a half hour of torture.
Really important things to note about Julie:
1. She DOES NOT double dip her waxing sticks! Google it if you're not aware of how often people get bacterial infections from contaminated wax.
2. She is the owner of Derma Plus and extremely knowledgeable of all things skin care. She's given me tips on which mineral makeup to buy, skin care lines, spray tans, etc.
3. She is QUICK! I timed it last time so I could accurately Yelp--7 minutes and not a hair left!
Perk alert!: Derma Plus is on Union=loads of places to go for wine after (this will come in handy if you don't do waxing regularly and especially after your first time).
Lastly, I read one DP review earlier that Julie does not accept tips. I'm certain this is not true. Please people, don't ever ever not tip someone who has just spent time ripping hair from your VJ. It can be just as painful for them. Do what I do: leave cash, at least 20%, and say, "Julie, I hated you for the last 7 minutes, but I love you now. Thank you so much!" -

I'm a cheater too.
I was getting a little peach fuzzy and I really could not wait to see my regular esthetician due to my schedule and whom is an hour away. So I searched Yelp for a place that was fairly priced, had more than good reviews, and that was close by. Alas, Dermaplus popped up in all of its glory.
I called and made an appointment hoping to get one for the same day. But they were booked for evening appointments. So I opted for a lunch time appointment for the next day. Justine was very nice over the phone as well as in person. I got there early, had some tea and read a magazine while waiting for her to finish up with her last client, then made my way into the room. She was very friendly and easy going. Not too chit chatty, yet did not leave for awkward silences.
The waxing itself was fast and painless. She did some plucking but I wasnt able to see the finished results in the end to make sure everything was to my liking (my normal place does).
All in all, good service, convenient hours (when you can get an appointment), parking is fairly easy during the day, but tough after 5pm, and resonably priced. -

Update 6/2010:
While I no longer live in the neighborhood, I still drive over here to see Julie for facials. I wish I had the money to come see her more often, but my once or twice a year visits leave my face feeling clean and fresh. The entire process is so relaxing, even her extractions are pretty painless, and she really understands how sensitive my skin behaves when certain products are used on it. I love how I can leave my appointment and shop/eat in the neighborhood without my face looking all blotchy. Whatever she does in the last few minutes of the appointment totally calms down the redness, by the time I walk out the door my skin looks great!
Also, to address the tipping issue...I asked the reception lady the last time I was here, and while they before did not accept tips, it now seems that tipping has become customary here, like it is at most spas.
Update 10/2008:
At the advice of my roommate, I started seeing Julie for facials. I've been struggling with my skin the past couple of years and finally decided I want to do something about it. Her facials are terrific and leave my face looking great, but Julie also has been fantastic at working with me in the search for something that will work to more permanently clear up my skin. She doesn't push products, but does give recommendations to things that are better or worse for my skin. We're still working at it, but I have faith that we'll come to a solution soon.

I came here for a personalized spray tan because I had a weekend full of events, and I wanted to look more tan than I was. I'd used a Magic Tan machine in the past and was not happy with how my feet and hands looked afterward, so I wanted to try something else. Kerry had been recommended to me, and I spoke to her on the phone, but she was going out of town so Justine ended up being the one doing my tan. Having never been spray-tanned before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but Justine was super friendly and made the whole thing seem perfectly normal. The process took about 15 minutes, and I was all dry and everything. The price you see is what you pay ($45 for a spray tan), and they don't accept tips.
Overall, I was very happy with my spray-tan, and will certainly be back here for those occasions where I want to look like I just spent a week in the tropics. :-)Listed in: Shopping!

Througout my life, I've only done those do-it-yourself clay masks at home. I never had the money nor saw any reason to see a professional to help me purse my pores of blackheads and help make my skin smooth, but with a wedding less than 3 months away and a dehydrated face, I had to seek some professional help!
I found dermaplus through yelp and made an appointment with Christine. I knew parking would be a b**** so i took the bus. I was half an hour late to the appointment because MUNI's bus drivers was PMS-ing and decided to point me in the wrong direction. I knew she was being a prick so I walked opposite of what she told me and eventually found the place.
Anyhoo, Christine was not one bit mad that I was late. Instead she took me to the room and told me that I would still be able to get my treatment, just less the time I was late.
I don't remember what she did exactly, because I somewhat fell asleep. =P I know she did extractions, a few masks (perhaps a moisture) and massaged my hands and feet, but I don't remember the treatment. Sorry!
I left feeling relaxed and happy. My face glowed and even my friends noticed my face was glowing. I went home to check my blackheads and they were visibily gone.
I immediately made another appointment 2 weeks before the wedding for my husband and myself. I made him go in against his will, but it was for the best. He came out with a cleaner nose, tighter pores, and a moisturized face! It took Christine's advice and opinion to get him to finally use moisturizer on his super dehydrated skin.
She help me do some more extractions, a peel, and a mask. She even told us to go back to her should we have any pimples show up a day before the wedding.
It's been several months sine this experience so I apologize for the lack of service names. I was glad I sought their services for my wedding and will do so for the future. I think I might try their eyebrow shaping next time. -

I booked an appointment with Megan for a spray tan and not only did it turn out great - but she made the experience very comfortable and easy going.
The salon if very chic and relaxing - just the right type of mood to relax you and unwind you.
I asked Megan for a nice bronze glow and she delivered - so no more pasty white.
I'm hoping for another great experience the second time around to give it a full 5 stars.
