Absolutely the best breakfast sandwich in town! The sausage is excellent and so is the bacon, if you choose to have it instead of sausage. Portions are generous and it's a good value for the money. Lunch is amazing as well!

Though I haven't physically been to a Denninger's in over a decade, it is still what I consider to be my deli. Too far out of the city, for a non-driver such as myself, to frequent on any sort of basis I have my aunt pick up for me. I don't really eat much processed meat but when I do, it's most likely from here.
Have had the schnitzel, ham, kielbasa and many of their sausages but my favourite item, hands down, is the honey garlic sausage. Probably the best sausage I have ever had, the flavours are so perfectly balanced that I eat it plain, maybe with some veg on the side. This sausage doesn't need a bun or condiments, it can definitely hold it's own. -

This place needs to be in the GTA ASAP!
The grocery store part is meh.. but their hot tables totally rock!! Excellent German fare, served cafeteria style. Schnitzels (pork or chicken) and various Sausages are their thing. Have it either in a bun served with onions & sauerkraut, or dinner plate style with two sides (Fries, Potato Salads, Coleslaws, Pasta Salads, and other goodies).
The closest one is in Oakville on Lakeshore, but that location kind of blows. Burlington and Hamilton seems to be the best ones. Jammed packed at lunch, so come early. -

The Hamilton deli to end all Hamilton delis. I'm not sure what that means but this place is great. It's a huge deli/market that features delicious, fresh meat and cheeses, a huge selection of condiments, bread, pastries and a take out counter that serves some of the better schnitzel I've had and being 1/4 German I've had a good amount of schnitzel (thanks Octoberfest).
The deli counter is where you'll want to live. Definitely some of the best bacon I've ever had. It's the kind of bacon that doesn't even curl up in the pan because it's filled with so much integrity and flavour. Just got some Montreal smoked turkey today that made a very, very good sandwich.
Another great part of coming here - these mofo's sample like Costco! Fug yeah!
Now for the very slight complaints - although this place is big, it's made so mostly by supplementing fresh stuff with market-style stuff. The actual selection of meats isn't completely overwhelming. It's also not immediately obvious what is fresh and what is more fresh. Lots of fresh looking things in containers with Denninger's stickers on them - are these homemade or is this a Sysco-1882750 with a Denninger's sticker on it?
MENU RECOMMENDATIONS
Schnitzel - from the take-out counter, covered in mushrooms and gravy. On Tuesdays they have a special schnitzel in that's ever better.
Breakfast sandwich - take-out, the best bacon you'll ever have on a breakfast sandwich
Bacon - deli counter, thick cut and smoked to perfection
SERVICE NOTES
Tip - the take-out counter is pretty fast (except during lunch I imagine) and you can purchase your non-take-out counter items there.

For years I've lived 3000 miles away - and still dream of a cordon blue with everything on it, even standing at the lunch stand is fun...

Denningers you marvel! I can't get over this place. Somehow as I get increasingly into local foods I love this store of imported luxuries more and more. Of course they do a whole lot of baking and food preparation themselves. You'll find an amazing deli and bakery plus all the polish pickled beets, fleur de sel and Belgian chocolate you could ever desire, and a tasty lunch counter serving schnitzel, sausage, and more. The reason there are no reviews of this place is because Hamiltonians want to keep it a secret, but the jig's up - this place is a treasure.
