Review from Jim H.
Definitely one of the best vintage selections I've seen. Everything was in good shape and actually fashionable, nothing too tacky. Prices were a little high but that didn't keep me from picking up a few things for my wardrobe. Most reviewers here mention the older items from the 40's and 50's but they do carry things up through the 80's also.
I had a chance to chat with the owner. He was very helpful and friendly. The cashier was patient as I continued to try new items that caught my eye during checkout.
I really hate shopping but their date dependent pricing scheme adds a little fun! I wonder what percentage they take when accepting consignments.
Wish I had a little more time, I'll be back for sure! -

Great selection of vintage items, but overpriced for some of the quality.
I realize that their location (in Gastown) is a pricey area for rent, but sometimes I feel that Deluxe Junk would fare better on Commercial Drive. Mintage Vintage used to be located a few doors down and they relocated to The Drive in 2008 (I think).
I have to admit that I love their window displays and the shoes are incredible. I also really appreciate the variety -- hats, jewellery, dresses, shirts, shoes, pants, men's items, and even home décor. -

Very good and well curated collection of vintage items. Clothing are almost always in good shape and their store is quite clean compared to other vintage stores.
A lot of cute vintage blouses and dresses as well as accessories and rock t shirts. A little pricey but I guess you'd expect it to be being where it's at. I dont' always buy something every time I'm here but I definitely browse here every time I shop in Gastown. -

Good arrangement of vintage clothing neatly arranged and displayed for an easy shopping experience. They have an awesome vintage t-shirt collection for rock and pop culture shirts. I was lucky enough to find a shirt that I wanted. I had a Smashing Pumpkins shirt "Just say Maybe" star shirt from the 90's that my mom threw out (she thought that any alternative music was the devil's product). I saw the same shirt and wanted to get back what was originally taken for me. I wanted to rub that shirt in my mom's face at the next family dinner with the look on my face that read, "I won." I get that 90's shirts are now considered extremely rare and vintage, however, $45 for a shirt that had a hole in it? Really? I've been looking at vintage 90's shirts on ebay and have seen similar condition shirts (I am currently watching for another SP shirt of better condition on Ebay) for at least 1/2 that. It's not so much the price that bothered me as that they were asking for $45 for a shirt that had a noticeable irreparable hole in it. I didn't even want to bother negotiating as I wouldn't be able to fix the shirt myself. Other than the whole Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt annoyance, this has been the best vintage clothing store that I have come across in the lower mainland. As for annoying my mother at the next family dinner..I am still waiting for the Tool shirt to pop up that my mom threw away.

A store that bears exactly what I think my style is?! A definite have to visit methinks!
Walking into this great shop in Gastown, you are immediately dazzled by the beautiful collection of vintage Sherman jewelry pieces- I have been a collector for years and had a hard time not buying more. A healthy selection of both fun affordable bits and what I like to call investment pieces, you will be hard pressed to not find something sparkly and fun to add to your wardrobe.
As I wandered through all the racks, I instantly made a conscious decision to come back here when I had time to actually try some more things on... when suddenly, I saw it. A terrific 3/4 sleeve faux fur topper. In my size. I saw this as fate, and immediately tried it on. Well, we all know that is usually what sinks the ship, don't we? Need and want are such similar terms...
Up to the counter I go, with the friendly clerk, who reassured me that I am not the only person he encounters with a bit of a shopping addiction (himself included), efficiently processed my purchase, and off I went on my merry way. I wore the jacket that very night. And now I think it is going to be one of my new favourite pieces. Thank goodness for people who deal in Deluxe Junk. -

Deluxe Junk has all the junk you could ever want. And don't be fooled - here's a secret: it's not junk. They have thousands of cool pieces: shoes, bags, coats, jeans, jewelry, dresses, hats... And a lot of it, most of it is vintage. And good vintage, not resale consignment crap you find at second hand stores everywhere. Their selection of coats, men's and women's, is amazing. And I'm still having dreams about the gorgeous brown dress on the wall - I think I might have to have it for an opening night event. BUT - they know the value of their stuff (dammit Vancouver smart, cultured people!) and their items are priced accurately. I walked out with a cute sweater and if I hadn't just blown my $$$$ on a bag at Lloyd's I would have come out with my arms full of new treasures.
Bonus - very nice sales staff and great tunes to shop to. -

Gotta agree, it's a good place, organized and easy on the eyes. The stock is in good shape, no stains, no rips. Lots of new labels also, like Smart Set, American Eagle, Zara, and others. The jewellry was really interesting and pretty, not garish or costumey like most places. The music was actually incredible while I was in there, too.
The prices were much higher than I expected though, and I wasn't sure a simple tank top should cost 16$ secondhand... But if you want something new and interesting that you can't find anywhere else, I guess you can concede to these prices. Also, the sales girls were talking about something seriously personal very loud... is this my cue that am I not young or hip enough? Meh, still pretty unprofessional. -

This is my favourite place to shop for secondhand and vintage clothes; indeed, it's pretty well the only place I'll go. Here's why:
Well-organized: Everything is stocked according to gender, type of piece, and colour. It's super easy to find what I'm after, and they haven't messed with the layout of the store in years.
Clean: Everything has to be dry-cleaned, or washed, before it is consigned. No icky mothball smell, like so many other secondhand shops.
Room to move: The racks are spaced just right so you don't feel like you're being attacked by coats, nor jostled by fellow shoppers.
Sensible prices: A simple, three-price system rules. The second price kicks in 30 days after the initial date on the tag, the third price, after 60. If you find a piece you like, it can be fun to gamble on it being there after the price drops.
Well-edited: Unlike some other shops I could name, you won't find some old gym suit marked as "Vintage sweats" or some such euphemism. The owners have wonderful eyes for really interesting pieces in good condition.
Good service: The people who work here are so cool, and love to talk about the stock. They could hog all the good stuff, but they don't, either!
Eye candy: The front of the store is always changing and always has a wow factor. Somebody knows something about visual merchandising. It's fun to come in and see what they've done this week. You're not just marching into the piles of stuff.
Lastly, the store has been around a long time. I hope they stay around! -

Great vintage shop. Extremely well-curated, with tons of 40s/50s stuff. Everything is in great condition -- no holes, no unexplained stains. Three tiers of pricing, with items going more on sale the longer they're in the shop. All three pricing tiers are listed on the tag, with the date they go on sale.
I picked up a fantastic leather purse there on a whim, and the owner let me have it at the cheapest price listed on the tag even though it was a couple of days before it went on sale. Nice!Listed in: Time to shop

Longevity bodes well for a business, especially for a vintage apparel shop and Deluxe Junk can boast both longevity and amazing vintage apparel, thereby making it a top shop for amazing old junk...!
Junk is used in the most loving of ways of course, as Deluxe Junk offers an exceptional, organized variety of clean (yes, CLEAN) used apparel for men and women in a space that still maintains its sense of whimsy and era's past. An equally amazing collection of jewellery, such as Sherman's, and a number of incredible pieces that are not to be touched unless you ask, give Deluxe Junk a head and shoulder's up from the usual vintage clothing store.
The prices reflect the quality of the clothing being accepted into the store and while some are a bit higher than they should be, most are completely justified. Hours can be spent whiling away your time and imagination! -

By far THE BEST vintage clothing in Vancouver. This place has been around forever, and there's a good reason - it's pure quality. No other vintage store in Vancouver has the selection of older vintage that Deluxe Junk has. Lots of amazing 20's, 30's & 40's clothing and jewelry. Of course they have tons of newer vintage as well, but if you're looking for the older good stuff - come here first, cuz it's hard to find anywhere else.

For deluxe vintage and second-hand garments, Deluxe Junk Company is amazing. I love the way they organize the mish-mash of clothes that sometimes is typical of these types of stores. But what amazes me more is that super-duper-and-high-end dresses and shoes that I found. I grabbed a pair of Chloe strapless white leather sandals, a green 1940's vintage mesh hand-purse and a 1970's wool, cream-and-brown coloured winter coat. They carried all colours and sizes of t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, shoes and dresses and everything was very clean and organized. I especially thought the jewellery and broches were very well organized and co-ordinated.

Just amazing! The huge selection is only made better by the employees knowledge. It is a lot of fun to shop here, which is hard to say usually in vintage. I spoke to the owner once and he was just so passionate about what he does which rubbed off on me making me even more excited to continue shopping here in the future.
