I love burgers, and this is a great spot to indulge in a great burger. Seriously, the burgers and EXCELLENT. Try them all, they're all great. You can't go wrong with any of them.
One time, I wasn't feeling burger-y (due to a mouth injury that made it tough to open my mouth wide enough to eat a big fat juicy burger-- even though I wanted to), so I ordered the beet salad and that was just as good!
Service is great, food is great, decor is great! And who wasn't thrilled the first time they were served the cotton candy surprise at the end?
I am going to deduct a star for the take-out part of DeLux. One day, after work, I picked up some burgers and fries to bring home to my boyfriend. It was good... but by the time I got home with them, the buns were completely soaked from all the grease/dressings that they put on the burger. This made it very messy and kind of gross. What tastes good the moment it's made, can't withstand a 15 minute ride home... -

Congratulations to Century Hospitality Group for taking another simple idea (a burger joint) and bloating it into extreme levels of pomposity, self-importance, and pretentiousness.
Delux is probably intended for those suit wearing, urban, wannabe millionaires that are always gawking at their smartphones, and trying to impress us with their perceived social status. They have one flaw though: They just can't get into escargot and hors d'oeuvres like they should. They have a guilty pleasure for burgers, fries, hot dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
That's where CHG come in: They create a restaurant that serves up greasy spoon fare but in a chic, "urbanized" setting and charge ridiculous prices for something that we can get at Soda Jerks or Johnny Rockets for less money. Now the young urbanites can satisfy their primitive palates and not feel guilty about it because they're "making the scene now." It's not as yuppie as the One-Hundred Bar Kitchen (another CHG establishment) but it's in the ballpark. Delux is like a stepping stone between Burger King and One-Hundred Bar Kitchen.
Truth be told, their food is good but it's not worthy of any hype. I had the Urban Classic Burger (yes, that's what it's called - URBAN - scenesters wouldn't want anyone to think that they're rural, would they?) with the Delux French Fries. That's a lot of fries that comes in that order so be warned. You can also get half-orders for the fries which is good for people that can't stomach a lot of fries. Our waiter was prompt, polite, chatty, and as far as I know, has never robbed a bank.
If you're in the mood for burgers, dogs, and fries but you don't want fast food, I would suggest going to Soda Jerks or a place like that. Delux is expensive and trendy just for the hell of it.
We had a coupon. -

My friend and I went to Delux for lunch the other day. I've tried Delux several times and I'd say our experience this time and most other times is average at best. Our server was very pleasant but not on the ball that day. I ordered a spicy caesar (which came out super spicy-- the way I like it) and water and asked for a pepper shaker on the side and she only brought the caesar. I asked her again to bring pepper and water and she didn't. I had to ask the person who brought our starter salads if she could get waters for us.
Half way into my salad I discovered the cucumbers were moldy, so I just set them aside and ate the remainder of my salad. Our server didn't quality check to see if our salads tasted okay so she never had any chance to resolve the issue first hand, she didn't even clear our plates. A manager cleared our plates and I let him know of the bad cucumbers. He was very helpful and compassionate about the situation and took the salad off our bill no questions asked.
The manager brought us our main dishes. Our entrees were delicious. I had Nathan's famous hot dog with a side of onion rings and chipotle sauce and my friend had the classic burger with jalapenos and onions rings. Again, the server didn't bother to quality check our food.
We had their complimentary cotton candy for dessert. It hit the spot.
Food and beverages were tasty as per usual. However, our server did a poor job. Delux BB management team is exceptional. I'll definitely be going there again, I just hope we get a better server next time. -

You can always count on the Century Hospitality group to offer a truly unique atmosphere and something different, with the amount of sophistication that goes into their restaurants.
My girlfriend and I had to wait a bit to get in, but once we did, we had a great time.
I really love the way the place is designed. It kinda looks like a set from A Clockwork Orange, with a dash of a contemporary deli sort of feel added in, and a few shakes of Lux Steakhouse. I even loved the hilarious mural of the cows in the upstairs part!!!
In addition the atmosphere is just cool. It's actually beyond words.
The servers are nice and the one we got was extremely nice, in addition she cracked a few funny jokes, and was just all around a very attentive server. The bartenders seemed cool as well.
The food is awesome, hand made patties and deliciously crispy fries, and the way they present the food is so weird, but you wouldn't have it any other way because it works. I loved how fries are served in a shopping cart!!! So utterly whacky but definitely cool.
The prices are the best in town for a burger bar, not too high but just about right. But with the quality of the food, you could tell me I'm eating expensive food and I'd believe you. It's that good.
The best part, in spite of the large selection of bottled beer and yummy burgers? THE COTTON CANDY THAT COMES WITH THE BILL. Seriously, how much more awesome can it get?!
This is like Lady Gaga designed a burger bar. Definitely a restaurant you must check out. -

It was a lazy day so we decided to go out and I was craving burgers. We noticed before a place on bourbon street that seemed interesting and decided to try it.
We arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday night, and got in 30 minutes later. I ordered the Urban classic burger because if you are going to goto a burger place for the first time you have to try the classics. It was so delicious! Now maybe I was really hungry but the patty's flavour was sumptuous and size of the patty was of generous portion. I enjoyed it to the last bite. We also ordered the duo french fries and yam fries that came in a cute miniature shopping cart. They were crisp with a very yummy chipotle sauce that made my taste buds tingle.
I will definitely travel to this burger bar again and maybe try the kobe burger which was $20. If my burger for 9.50 was that good, how much better would be the kobe burger? -

So this would be the second restaurant in this ownership group (Century Hospitality Group) that I have recently tried and, for a second time, I was kinda disappointed.
I actually really enjoyed the decor - not so sure how to describe it - deli style seating with a contemporary/lounge type decor? Comfortable and not over crowded.
Food was over priced! Surprised??? To me it was a whole lot of throwing a burger patty on a ciabatta bun and calling it 'fancy' ...I don't know!? Not to say the burger wasn't good...oh wait that IS what I am saying. Well OK, so it wasn't horrible...but definitely not worth the price in my opinion! Now for the best part though - UMMMM FREE COTTON CANDY!?!?!?!?! HEY-O!!! :) ...felt a little like an 8 year old again and it was delicious!!
All in all 1 star for decor and 1 star for free cotton candy. Probably wont be going there again - just not my thing I guess. Sorry Century Hospitality Group - that's fail #2 for you -

Drove out to Edmonton yesterday to go watch U2 and grabbed some food at the mall first. Although it was a little early for dinner, we were starved and decided to hit up Bourbon St rather than the fast food joint. The Delux caught our eyes since it's not your usually Moxies or Earls.
The service was fast and friendly, but other than the typical "how are the first bites tasting" at the beginning we didn't see our server much until we were finished. This kind of disappointed me because I wanted a refill of pop and didn't get it. Plus we got the wrong bill at the end.
The menu is fairly small but quite unique. I personally got the grilled cheese sandwich (I've never been a big beef person and their one chicken and fish options didn't appeal to me), and it was pretty good. I personally love crunchy fries and theirs weren't as crisp, but they had a really unique flavour to them that was excellent. This place is a little bit different because rather than automatically getting fries on the side you order it separately, but the price still comes out to be same as it would be at another restaurant. You also get cotton candy at the end as your breath mint which really confused us at first as to what it was, but when we found out it's quite a cool finishing piece. -

If you like paying for the experience of eating a burger in a dimmed lounge, then this is definitely the place for you.
To be honest, I don't see what's all the hype about Delux. I just don't get the reasoning in spending over $20 on an average burger & soggy poutine when I know I can get it somewhere else for almost half the price, especially in a place like the mall.
The star-rating is 1.5 stars higher just because I liked our waitress, she was patient and attentive.
Delux just isn't for me, but maybe it is for other people, so you should at least try it once. -

We came here for the Kobe Beef Burger, hoping for something great, but it was a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but for $20 (NOT including a side) I expected a tastier, juicier, burger. We also had the regular burger ($9.50), a half-order of Stella-battered onion rings ($3.00), and a strawberry shake ($6.50).
I've had better for less $$$. They are really just charging for the trendy decor. -

Was here last night for the "sweet potato taste-of" and had a good meal and good chats with fellow yelper. In general, I like the Delux Burger Bar menu (although I do feel they need 2 more beef burgers) and my Stella Artois batter fried fish sandwich was made decently well. I also got a taste of the crispy onion rings and they were awesome. You could actually taste the Stella beer in it - no kidding!
The sweet potato taste-of went pretty well and I think we might have nailed the winner of the contest! More generally though, I am not a fan of the restaurant-in-mall concept. I know it's a great business idea to open a restaurant in WEM and even on a dull Thursday evening, this place was full with a decent cross-section of mall goers.
Deep inside the restaurant, the ambience is good, with poppish music playing and a lively atmosphere - fitting well with the general description of this place. Another thing that I'm not necessarily a fan of is the blown up image of a gang of cows staring at you while you're eating your burger. Hahaha! I know it sounds like a cool idea, but I've never really skinned an animal to be able to handle it; and so my pretentiously hypocritical soul tends to feel a little sad (that may have been one of the reasons I had a fish fillet sandwich).
I would definitely go to the other branch of the burger bar - not sure about this one. -

This was my first time eating at Delux Burger Bar. Walking in I found the two greeter girls to be alot more classy than the ones in the restaurant next door who looked like they were strippers (you all know which one I'm talking about). The decor is pretty modern/trendy and pleasing to the eye.
I ordered the Delux Burger, and shared the shrimp box and sweet potato fries with my friend. I hate seafood. I always tell people I don't do seafood. But of course I always try things. Because I hate people who say they don't like something but never tried it. So I try the shrimp in a box and I was pleasantly surprised. I actually didn't mind it... in fact I even kind of liked it. It didn't taste/smell fishy at all. I don't think I would have even known it was seafood. My burger was delicious (I choose Goat cheese as my cheese option). My friend ordered the Chipotle BBQ Chicken Burger and she said she really liked it. My one dissappointment was the sweet potato fries. They were soggy. They wern't terrible...... but they wern't great. The menu is very small (you'd think they would have more burger options for being a burger bar) but I guess it's a good thing for people like me who are very indecisive.
All in all I had a very good experience and I would definitely eat there again although I would like to try the actual restaurant rather than one in a crazy busy mall (but if you are already at the mall then might as well go there) -

I've reviewed the Delux on 142nd street, now the one on Bourbon St. I always manage to get a seat pretty quickly here even if it's busy. The gluten-free options make some of my friends really happy and by extension, me. The food is up to some pretty high standards in terms of taste and kitchen with cleanliness, I have had some frustrations with some of the less friendly and younger staff but overall, I'm happy with having great food in the mall.

I met a friend at this location for my first ever visit to the Delux burger bar. I was excited to try the place and I was not disappointed. The burger was juicy and savoury. i absolutely enjoyed it. I was also very happy with the amount of mushrooms they put on for my add on. They didn't skimp at all!
The fries and chipotle (I think?) mayo were great and came out super hot - I'm just not a huge fan of having to pay for a standard side separately.
All in all it was a good experience with good service, food, and atmosphere - I'd definitely return. -

The second Delux Burger Bar is designed and decorated exactly like the Crestwood neighbourhood original. While in a noisier location, the Bourbon Street Delux manages to maintain a cool atmosphere where people can relax and enjoy their meal. The food itself is marvelously prepared and is reliably good. Service is also close to perfect. The one time my order was incorrectly served, the mistake was rectified immediately and to more than what I'd expect. Try the flirtini if you like peach. Try the Kobe Stack and be delighted. The best part? Fries in a mini-shopping cart.
You won't regret the visit, although do plan on $50 for a two person meal. -

Life changing onion rings, extremely sloppy burger that fell apart immediately. Cold beers, great atmosphere, nice room. I wanted to REALLY like this place but the thing of the thing is supposed to be their burgers, of which mine was pretty bad. Everything else was great. I'm willing to check them out again and change my score. I think it may have been an off day.

This place takes burgers to a whole new level. If you thought that burgers and hotdogs were just streetmeat, think again. Good service and good choice of beers. They carry a few micro breweries as well that are worth trying. The burgers were good although I'd cringe to pay as much for a hot-dog. The poutine was alright..I didnt really enjoy the gravy. Overall, I'd try this place once.
