As someone who considers herself a bit of a burger aficionado, I was stoked yet skeptical of Delux. I came here on a date with a dude quite some time ago for a trendy dinner out. The dude didn't stick around, but my love of Delux definitely has.

It was surprisingly quiet for a Thursday evening, but I didn't really mind. It was nice to have a normal conversation without competing with other diners. A DJ was spinning and the food was super hot and tasty. My burger was very impressive, and I'm a sucker for cute gimmicks like fries in a mini shopping cart. Also, a total sucker for very delicious fries.

My favourite part? Surprise cotton candy with your bill! You don't need to order dessert here - this sweet treat just shows up! A tasty ending to a filling, savoury meal.

Perfect place for a cool dinner out - definitely a spot to impress that girl or guy on a second or third date. Great for burgers and beers after work with your colleagues, too.

So I had planned a walk of Candy Cane Lane nearby, and needed a place to lead my merry bunch of chilled light-seers afterwards.  Going solely on Yelp reviews, I narrowed it down to Haven Social Club or Delux Burger.  A friend tipped my vote for Delux, and am I ever glad we went there.

It was simply what I was looking for.  Casual yet chic, seating with ambient noise, but close enough and quiet enough for our group of seven to easily converse.  We went on a Thursday night, and the place was quiet enough, as in we didn't have to wait for a table (for seven!) and yet there were no vast empty stretches of tables.  Hell, there aren't vast stretches of tables period.  The place is cozy.

I knew it would be pricy, and it was.  I enjoyed my mini kobe beef burgers and wee shopping cart of fires (to share).  The drinks were reported as quite enjoyable, and the hostess kept my tea full.

Service was there when needed, and unobtrusive when it was clear we were our own entertainment.

A nice place to have a classy bite.  A solid food type being served with upscale ambience and tasty additions.  Kinda like a black lab dog in a fancy pink sweater and matching booties.  You don't need it, but sometimes it is fun to dress it up.

Never listen to hipsters with attitudes. I ended up trying Delux Burger Bar regardless of that hipster's warning, and it was one probably the best meal I had while in Edmonton! I went with some friends I was working with. It's a trendy mid-sized restaurant with modern decor and a focused concept. It's simply a burger bar, and the menu certainly made that clear by putting the focus on the burgers, with the options of adding sides. That's the beauty of the "bar" concept. You can start with something basic then add customizations to make it as elaborate as you wish. I didn't mind paying a little extra for a side because they were GOOD sides.

I ordered the special which was a Kobe beef burger with lobster, caramelized onions, some kind of cheese, butter leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and a side of Stella Artois battered onion rings. The others ordered the Urban Classic with bacon, and the Kobe Stack with a half order of poutine. We all enjoyed our own burgers. My Kobe special with the lobster was sooo juicy and flavourful. The ratio of bun to burger was perfect. I don't have any complaint about the food at all.

So here's the pricing for my meal. The Kobe special was $19. I added a side order of onion rings for $3. With tax and tip, it came to something like $27. Yes, that's pretty steep for lunch, but I was so full, and so satisfied. Keep in mind that you're getting Kobe beef. The other burgers like the Urban Classic are cheaper (I think around $12). If you want to add bacon, it's a little extra. Also, the Kobe Stack comes with onion rings, so you can just pay the flat $20 and pass on the sides! There are so many options!

I would definitely come back again, but maybe not for a random lunch. I imagine that this place is pretty popular for dinner.

Fairly average restaurant. I have enjoyed the gourmet burger concept at other restaurants at other cities and had been trying to get their for months. Finally, when we were able to make it in, the one word that came to mind was "underwhelmed".

The food wasn't bad by any means but for an establishment that prides itself on it's burgers, someone expects more. Service was average. I don't think I will be going back again, especially with how busy the restaurant can be on the average weekend night. Could be just as better off going to a chain restaurant like Earls or Moxies and having an equivalent burger experience.

We went due to a great Groupon deal on a lovely Sunday afternoon, so we were able to sit on the patio. A little loud, since we're right by the road, but overall, ambiance was pretty decent.

My husband ordered their celebrity burger: a ground turkey patty topped with proscuitto, an apple compote, and melted brie, wrapped in a whole wheat panini-type bread. Verdict: This should be on their main menu. Delish!

As for me, I ordered their "lollipop chicken wings" -- essentially, chicken drumettes with some of the middle meat carved out so you see the bone, hence: lollipop. It was served with some sweet sauce of some type, but I didn't really care for it much. In fact, the wings were just... okay. (shrug). My organic greens salad and dressing was quite tasty, but nothing to write home about. We also ordered the Stella Artois battered onion rings, also served in a shopping cart -- and we were happy to find out we could have half orders ($3) which were more than enough between the two of us, really. It was as expected, though I found the batter almost too much. Tasty, though, along with the chipotle (?) accompanying dip.

So, basically, all 3 stars is directly related to the celebrity burger featured. But, it was enough that we'd probably go and check the place out again to see what else they have in store.

As an aside, while they serve a kobe burger ($20) on their menu, I strongly suggest avoiding it. Not necessarily because it tastes bad, because I've never had it so I can't judge, but because what the hell is the point of grinding up a perfectly good slab of kobe, where you lose all subtlety, marbling and flavour of the original piece of meat. If you want to try Kobe/Wagyu whatEVER, go get a nice piece of steak at a high-end restaurant. Unsure if their sibling, Lux or Hundred serves it, but save your duckets at DeLux for their less expensive offerings. It's simply a marketing/money making part of any menu. Just ask Anthony Bourdain.

The Kobe burger is amazing, everything else is average. Let's face it this is a great place to go for a hamburger. But, if you know someone who makes good hamburgers, i.e. has watched a few food network shows, there won't be much difference. Unless the person you know only uses kobe beef.

If Yelp did half stars Delux would get 4 1/2. This is a really neat burger place. This location is in a strip mall on the west end, not the first place I'd picture when thinking of going out to eat.

The menu is pretty small. You order the burger seperate from your sides, like fries and whatnot. I went in April and got the Garnivor burger. It was delicious, the meat was tender and juicy. It had blue cheese, carmelized onions and bacon. Of course as one of the celebrity menu burgers it's no longer offered. The order of sweet potato fries were also delicious. Some pieces were huge wedges which shows me Delux actually uses a sweet potato for their fries instead of just the stuff from the grocery store. My friend said the fries come in a shopping cart - but ours didn't. Little sad about that. But the night was redeemed when we were offered free cotton candy for dessert. My friend and I were full but really cotton candy is just like eating air.

This place is smaller, and seems to pack up quickly. If you want a spot you'll be best to make a reservation or wait for a bit.

I could not have been happier when I arrived to Delux and realized that they had a patio. It was the most beautiful summer night to just sit on a patio, have a great burger and a glass of wine.
I had the Urban Burger which was great with a half order of sweet potatoe fries. Although I really enjoyed it, it was the only thing on the menu that appealed to me.
The restaurant itself is really cute. I expected it to be a lot larger. I really like the use of modern decor when you don't expect it, like at a burger place or at Urban Diner. The service could have been a little more personal, but they might have been busy. I couldn't even really tell you his name.
However, I don't eat burgers all that often so a quick return does not look like it will be in the future.

I really wanted to like this place much more than I ended up liking it.  There really isn't anything wrong with it, but nothing that justifies the pricing either.

The secret of a really good burger is the beef blend somewhere between 70/30 or 80/20 lean/regular cuts ground, then you flame broil it. Kobe or Wagyu beef, used extensively at Delux, is a really lean finely marbled beef that's a little too lean for burgers if ground 100% for a burger.  More than that, it's not really a "beefy" tasting beef.  The Japanese breed it and eat it more for it's texture than anything else, eating it very rare (not cooking the fat out of it) or thinly sliced (as in Sukiyaki).  Angus will always give you a "beefier" burger.

I have the feeling that the menu at Delux was made more for reading than for the palate.  Caramelized onions, applewood cheddar, smoked bacon, spicy mayo are all just going to over power the qualities of Wagyu even if cooking it to well-done hasn't obliterated it's taste anyway.  And, c'mon guys, get them off the flattop and cook 'em on a flame grill.

Next time I'll try their Angus burger, though portobella mushroom?  It's a mushroom that essentially tastes like beef anyway.  Again, neat to read, makes sense to eat on a beef burger?

I have to say that other items are a little suspect, too.  Box of Shrimp is often overfried - golden please, not brown.  And, beer batter, beyond getting the gas bubbles into the batter, gets it's flavour from using an ale.  Newcastle Brown batter, sure ... Stella Artois?  A light Belgian lager with fruity flavours?  Then into the deep fryer?  Why?

I really enjoy a gourmet burger ... Burger Joint at le Parker Meridien NYC, Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, heck, In-n-Out (they understand beef blending).  I just don't feel that I'm getting that or tasting that at the Delux.  It's just tough to justify the price, unless décor counts, in a City that has Rodeo Burger or even Red Robins.

I wish they had a few more selections on their menus -- yeah, I know they're a burger joint, a fairly expensive burger joint ... but they also serve amazing martinis (get the Flirtini, you'll understand what I'm talkin' about) ... which deserve something more than trying to eat something that's four inches tall ...

The service is very good here -- I don't like four inch tall burgers, so when I asked if they could make me (yeah, this is wimpy, I know) their grilled cheese on plain ol' slices of bread, they did.

Plus, did I mention the Flirtinis?

Parking can be difficult, reservations are often needed, and take-out is not a bad way to go if you live close by.

They have several TVs and it's not a bad place to watch a sporting event, although the audio isn't usually on ... the music they choose to play is usually easy to listen to.

They also provide tonnes of fun by bringing you cotton candy at the end of your meal -- oops! Sorry for spoiling the surprise!  Well, you were surprised just now, right?

Yeah, vegetarians probably shouldn't go to burger joints.  But some friends have been raving about this place, telling us how amazing it is, and assuring us that they vegetarian option.  And then there was Groupon, so I'd be getting $15 off.  So we gave it a try.

Now, I have learned my lesson about the veggie burgers at most places.  If a restaurant has several burgers and one is a veggie burger, you can guarantee that the veggie burger will be served on a dry, whole grain bun, with a low-moisture cheese, and minimal toppings.  It's like restaurant owners assume that vegetarians don't like taste.   Delux Burger was so unoriginal and followed the formula, serving their "From the Garden" burger on a whole wheat bun, with mozzarella cheese, pesto aioli, and nothing else.  Yeah, I knew it would be dry and bland so I didn't order it.  Too bad my partner did.  Dry and tasteless, just like I knew it would be.  It cost over $10 and practically inedible, so a complete rip-off, in my opinion.

So, I ordered something different.  I got the Chipotle BBQ Chicken burger, substituting a veggie patty for the chicken and smoked applewood cheddar for the pancetta.  Now this was a delicious burger.  Caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, BBQ mayo, on a kaiser roll!  Oh my, it was good.  Dripping in goodness.  I could see my partner looking at my burger with envy, so I let him have half of mine.  The only problem with this burger was that even though the cheese was a SUBSTITUTION for the pancetta, I was charged $2 for cheese.  This on top of the already ridiculous price brought the burger to over $12.  Yes, it was a good burger, but not worth that much money.

We ordered half orders each of sweet fries and onion rings.  However, they got our order, brought a Delux Duo to the table.  They acknowledged their mistake immediately and said to keep the Delux Duo, since they couldn't serve it to the people who had actually ordered it once it had been served to us.  They said that they wouldn't charge us for the "extra cost"  Oh, but  if we still wanted onion rings (which we did, hence why we ordered them), well,  we'd have to pay for them, even though the mix-up was entirely their fault

Overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and seems to be run by penny-pinchers who want to squeeze every last cent from their customers without having to actually give a quality product or even good service in return.

No, I won't be back.  I may still dream about those caramelized onions and roasted red peppers, but I surely won't be spending any money in that joint.  I'll make my own d@*n burgers.

Trendy places in the middle of nowhere seems to be E-town's motto!  Delux burger offers yummy burgers at acceptable prices, with a modern décor, the kind that makes you wanna drink martinis.

I had a classic vodka martini with my "The Delux" burger, which had a hint of bleu cheese with mushrooms and bacon.  Yes, it was good.  Many people might think of this as an expensive place, and mind you I'm not the one to say it's cheap - but given it's ambience, I think it comes to a fair price per person.  The burgers are roughly 9-12 dollars, excepting the kobe beef burger for $20.  Fries are extra, but to be honest, the fries servings are prettty large and I'd reckon two people could share a pot of fries. (there were 5 of us and we shared two servings of fries)

I like that they've included subtle variations on their burgers, which is kinda different from "southwestern" burgers and such. However, my main complaint is that for a place that proudly calls itself a "Burger Bar", I believe they're running two, maybe three beef based regular burgers short.  Anyone entering this place is automatically thinking about ordering a burger - give the options.  I support that they have other yummy looking items like a fancy grilled cheese, a chiptole chicken sandwich, stella artois batter fried fish sandwich and a nice sounding veggie burger too. But just give me two more varieties of burgers and I'll be a happy man!

A bit of an Earl's like feel to it without the confusing mutlicultural menu (oh god! what's up with that!!).  Expect to spend roughly $30 for a burger, fries, drinks and dessert.

Delux is a place I love to eat at - great food, nice atmosphere, and I always leave stuffed, and with some money still in my wallet.

The sliders are great, and I love the new mini-hot dogs, though I usually stick to the full-sized dog. I've only tried the specials a few times, as they usually don't interest me that much. Their sweet-potato fries are outstanding, the best in the city, though I really hate the mini shopping carts they come in (it makes it harder to get the fries out, as it's elevated on the table), so I always take them out of the cart before eating. Their onion rings are also wonderful, so I usually get a 1/2 order of the ring, and 1/2 of the sweet potato fries (I share with my wife, I know you were judging me :P). The servers here are great as well; it's just a top-notch place.

For all the hype I have heard around Delux I was a bit disappointed. It was a pretty run of the mill burger, just way more sloppy. The service was great here though. It was my cousins birthday and we brought a cake so they put it in the back, sang happy birthday and gave him a gift certificate for the next time he comes ! Oh! And at the end of the meal some of the other servers came out and said happy birthday and made sure he got the certificate. Not too shabby!
The five of us ate for just under $100 with sides and drinks so it wasn't too bad. But I really was expecting more flavor out of my burger I ordered, The Classic ? I don't remember which it was. I figured with a specialty burger joint the classic should be the best right? Well I was right. All the boys at the table ordered The Delux and all they could taste was regret. The burgers were pretty big so I don't think they were overpriced at all. You could get away with just eating the burger here, 7oz of patty in my tummy! Buuuut, I don't think I'd go back unless another groupon or something came up for it.

I have been re-introducing a friend to Edmonton and wanted to take him somewhere to get a really good burger. He likes burgers, but only if they are excellent. I've heard Delux Burger Bar has the best burgers in the city. I was here once before to get some takeout for, but since I never sampled those wares I still did not know for myself if the place would pass the test of two very picky eaters.

    It did, with flying colours.

We both ordered the most basic burger on the menu, although I swapped out my cheese for sliced portabello mushroom. The burger was juicy on the inside, thick, and full of flavour. While some of the more exotic burgers really aren't my thing, Delux is definitely a place for gourmet taste. There are vegetarian, chicken, and fish options available, and there is a gluten free bun.

Since fries have to be ordered on the side, it can get somewhat pricey although the side orders are large enough to share. We had the Delux Duo, which combines regular fries with sweet potato fries. Served in a small shopping cart, it was definitely enough for the two of us.

We didn't order drinks, but there is a full bar. Cotton candy is served after 5 p.m. (along with the bill) and I would definitely like to try one of the desserts another time, in particular the mini donuts.

No reservations even for 9 people.  I think the food is ok but overpriced.  The milkshakes are $6 and not even big enough for 2 kids to share.  The burgers are good but a little over the top with the fancy ingredients, making them a little rich.  I like the details like the fries in the shopping basket and also the cotton candy that comes with the bill.  It's a fun place to go but the food is a bit weak for the price.

I had the celebrity burger which was a blackened 7 oz burger patty, with lots of bacon, caramelized onions, portabello mushrooms and bbq mayo, tomato and lettuce.  I substituted a whole wheat flat bread for the bun (no charge) and it was fabulous, $13.  I'm not a huge fan of burgers because so many of them taste the same, but this flavour combo was unique and tasted great.  My husband had the fish burger, $11.  It came with a nice tartar sauce, but really tasted like any other decent quality fish burger.  We had a half order of the crunchy onion rings, $3 and a half order of the 'could definitely be crunchier' french fries, $3. A pint of Alexander Keith's on tap was $7.75.  Our servers were efficient, attentive and personable which is exactly what I like.

Delux offers some of the best  burgers in the city.  They have a lot of unique dishes that make me want to come back often. The service here is excellent. They are have always been very friendly and efficient. I was once here with a party of 10 and the waitress brought everything over quickly and never forgot who ordered which dish.

Recommendations? Anything. Really, you will not be disappointed. The Sweet Potato fries are amazing, and I like their presentation as they are served in a miniature shopping cart. You should also ask about their 'Burger of the Day' creation. This changes daily and usually consists of some unique creations- I once had 'Tour of the Zoo' which had packed with 5 different kinds of meat. The prices are reasonable, and I never feel like I'm paying too much for what I'm getting.

They have great live music spun every Friday and Saturday nights. This changes the personality of the restaurant- making things more lively and upbeat. I like coming to this place to socialize, especially on Monday during the 1/2 price wine night, or during their Martoonie Thursday nights, where they offer $2.75 martinis coupled with some good tunes...trust me, those martoonies go by very quickly and can be a good place to start off your night!

This is one of the cooler burger joints in Edmonton with a unique burger style. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. I am not sure why they haven't opened up more around the city.

The owner introduced himself and he was really nice. Just talking to him made us feel very comfortable and made the experience that much more enjoyable. They have a great selection of drinks and very attentive servers who can always help out. The BBQ chicken burger is soo good and the drinks were even better.

I am a huge fan of this classy burger joint, and I would go much more often if it wasn't so far from my house.

The service is pretty good, not amazing, not bad. They always feature a burger of the day (The Bounce (91.7fm) mentions the burger every day during their morning show).

These are some of the best burgers in town! The fries come in mini shopping carts and they are to die for! They also offer sweet potato fries if that is more your thing.

The scene here is a cool, swanky bar feeling. I wouldn't go here for a nice night out, it is a little too trendy for that.

At the end of your meal, your server will bring you a plate of cotton candy to finish off your meal. When we were there last, I couldn't possible finish it but I wanted it and my server offered to pack it up for me.

Go here and try the burger of the day... Whatever it is!

Delux Burger Bar is an upscale burger place that has a burger for everyone.  I personally go for their appetizers as I am not a big meat eater, but I do really enjoy their Fresh from the Garden veggie burger.  Their shrimp in a box, lollipop chicken wings and Beet Salad are also things that keep me coming back.  They also have Martoonie Tuesdays where all Martinis are on sale.  Their patio in the summer is a great place to sit out and enjoy some cheap drinks and the best thing on their menu, the sweet potato fries!  Yum!  The food can be a bit expensive, but portion sizes also tend to be totally ridiculously huge.  I can never finish what I order.  If you are into upscale yet comfortable food then this is a good place to check out, especially if Lobster Nachos peak your interest.

So when my friends and I feel like going out for some "Delux," high fashion food we like to head to Delux Burger and Bar.  On Friday and Saturday nights from 9PM until close a life DJ spins hip, up-beat music.  I really like this place because the atmosphere is groove, it's pretty dark with some candle light... sets the mood for any romantic date.  But I usually come here with friends and not a date but I still like the atmosphere.  If you want to share some food with friends then order the fries or even some sweet fries (big hit with my friends) or, my favorite, the Stella Artois Battered Onion Rings, or the shrimp box ($11).  For the main course I like the Chipotle BBQ Chicken Burger ($10.50 comes with roasted peppers and caramelized onions).  A couple of my friends really enjoy The Delux Burger ($11.50 comes with an Angus beef burger, blue cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms and smoked bacon).  My guy friends really love The Kobe Stake ($20, comes with onions, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and best of all onion rings).  If you can make room for dessert I would suggest the Delux Donuts ($7.50), the Delux Banana Split ($7.50), or the Pinocchio Milk Shake (6.50).

The staff is really nice, I really wanted an ice cream sandwich from the kid's menu and he totally hooked me up!  I mentioned how much he like the ice cream sandwiches also... we had a connection!  LOL

I place is looks up-scale but you don't need to pay up-scale prices when you eat out there.  It's a great place to get together with friends and if you like the loud hip music then totally stick around and hear the DJ spin his/her records.

I have been to Deluxe Burger Bar for my brother in law's birthday bash, and enjoyed this place quite a bit. The interior is very modern and trendy, and you just can't help but feel the urge to order a martini and feel fabulous from head to toes. The selection of drinks is amazing, by the way. With cocktail names such as Original Sin and Basic Instinct, how can you go wrong? My Original Sin which consisted of Bacardi Ruzz, ginger ale and lime juice was sweet enough and refreshing.
The food here is also great. The menu isn't long but it's got your basic burger needs covered. I have ordered a beet salad (glazed beets, goat cheese, organic greens drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette) and chipotle BBQ chicken burger. Most of my dining companions went for The Delux which is Angus beef, blue cheese, Portobello mushrooms and caramelized onions burger. Everyone seems to have enjoyed their food! None of us went for the dessert because the burgers are quite large and very fulfilling.
Our waitress was extremely attentive and polite. She served our party of 12 people in a speedy and courteous manner, offering us more drinks and refilling our water glasses. Top notch service!

I would give Delux five stars for atmosphere, service and its excellent international beer menu. The fact that wine is half-price on Mondays isn't too shabby either. However, the menu is a little overpriced, particularly the desserts. While a basic burger will set you back about $9.50 - fries are extra - the tastier options are more expensive. I'd come here to have beers with friends in a more upscale environment, but wouldn't necessarily come here for the food. As far as calling it the best burger joint in town, it's definitely the most creative - its basic burger isn't that much to write home about, but I did have a lamb burger with goat cheese that was absolutely deelish.
