We've now stayed a second time and our experiences have been so good I decided to bump it up a star and make it our go to hotel for when we want to treat ourselves to a night or weekend in the city.
We like it so much we made two more bookings for future outings.
The basic rooms might be a little smaller then newer properties but the delux, Signature Club rooms and suites can be quite large if you need the extra room. The rooms are really well maintained and furnished quite nicely.
Everyone is always wanting to know if there is anything they can do for you. You can really feel pampered.
If you sign up for emails you can find some pretty sweet deals, the best I've found for a night in downtown Halifax. Of course you can get the best deals off season, it can be a little more difficult during the peak of tourist season but still better then some other properties around town.1 Previous Review: Show all »

As usual for most people, I haven't stayed in many hotels in my home town but this is one of the few. Thanks to a special rate for teachers, there are some pretty good deals to be scored at the lovely Delta Barrington so a group of us decided to nab a couple rooms for a night out on the town.
The hotel has got to be one of the nicer ones in the city. Everything is just a scootch newer, shinier, cleaner, and brighter than so many of the others that I've been in. The staff from the lobby all the way up are nice, fun, and helpful (even delivering playing cards upon request), and the rooms themselves are quite lovely. A little on the small side sometimes, but still very lovely.
Now, as with any time you and fifteen of your closest friends decide to have pre-bar drinks spread between two hotel rooms, it was no surprise when the inevitable knock on the door came to ask us to get on with our plans elsewhere. But, and I give some mad love to them for it, they even handled this really well.
Instead of a "blah blah blah noise complaints, get out," they arrived with smiles on their faces, asked how the night was going, and just said "hey - we get it, we want you to have a good time, but how about you go hit the bar now?" We're not 19-year-olds doing tequila shots, so it was nice to be spoken to like a grown-up even though we may not have been acting like them.

This downtown hotel is up to snuff with both face to face customer service, and maintaining an efficient behind the scenes system so as to keep the place running smoothly.
The valet parking is very convenient, as there aren't many places to park along the busy Barrington strip. Counter attendants are prompt and helpful and are able to assist visitors with situating themselves within the Halifax geography.
For those who enjoy extracurricular fun, there's a pool handy for leisurely swims or games with the kids. The facilities are clean, and the pool is a fairly decent size.
The rooms are kept in tiptop shape, and the maid service stays on the ball keeping sheets crisp and rooms tidy throughout the duration of your visit. The Delta Barrington is in a great location and is an ideal hotel if you're visiting the city or looking for a couple of nights of relaxation. -

The Delta Barrington is a great hotel. It is connected to the Scotia Square Mall and the Casino, which is great for when the weather is not so good.
The Hotel is nice,it is located right downtown Halifax, so you can walk anywhere from here. The service is good, rooms clean, and a fun place to stay.

Good times await you at the surrounding historic pubs filled with loud east coast music and fun-loving maritime atmosphere.
