It's pricey... but my god it's worth it. The cakes are... well... DECADENT. I've tried quite a few over the years, and I bring these cakes in for special occasions only as a personal rule, because if I was eating these under normal regular situations, I probably would be on the floor most days twitching from diabetic shock.
Of especial note to me, the Raspberry WHite Chocolate and the Chocolate Overload. If you weren't a diabetic previously, you will get precariously close to being one. To put it quite simply, they are to die for.
They normally only make a small number for walk in sale, but also a number of cookies and other goodies (though a limited selection as their bread and butter seems to be their cake to order selection). If you reaaaaally want any particular cake, you'll need to give them about 48 hours or so warning, and then.... ENJOY.
PS: They're not only rich, but they're dense in the yummiest form of the word. It's not a cake for sissies and by god it's way superior than store bought. Store bought isn't even in the same scale as these cakes. Hell, barely the same planet! -

I used to work quite close to Decadent Desserts but never went in. Then, in 2010, I happened to be in the neighbourhood on my birthday and wandered in on a whim. What I found there has changed my view of desserts entirely.
I've only tried a few different things at Decadent - namely their cupcakes, shortbread cookies and the lemon slice - and each is better than the last. This is the place to go for a real, tart and tasty lemon slice that's flaky, delicious and not too sweet.
I'm positively in love with their Italian buttercream cupcakes. I celebrated my birthday with one and instantly decided to make it a birthday tradition. Crave cupcakes are tasty, but those at Decadent Desserts are simply divine.
They're conveniently located next to one of my favorite Calgary spots - The Holy Grill - so stopping in for a truly amazing lunch and dessert couldn't be easier. -

I don't know why it took me three years to step into this bakery? Maybe unconsciously I know how good this place is and it will be bad for me.....??
If it was not for my coworker, I guess I still wouldn't/haven't gone into this place and tried their cakes. (yes plural, cakesssssssssss).
Other than Bliss cupcakes, Decadent's cupcakes are my favorite! I actually feel like I was cheating on my Bliss cupcakes when I was eating the Decadent cupcakes. Savory! Yummy! Delicious! -

It's a small bakery. There is no coffee and just a single table, but none of that matters. I had a this thing called Dark ChocolateSeymours, it had pecans and was dipped in dark chocolate. Awesome. It came straight down from the heaven. The cakes looked really yummy too. There were a lot other goodies, I wanted to try, but I ran out of calories for the day.

MMMM MMMMM MMMMM.
I've fallen head over heels in love with this place. It's hard not to - I mean, EVERYTHING they make makes me happy down to the core. How can anything compete with that?!?!? Sorry fellows... DD's got this one.
Dinah G. has done a fantastic job of providing a recap of just some of the amazingness that DD offers its clients.
I will tell you that their cookies and cakes leave me absolutely speechless....which is a feat in itself.
All you need to know is this: Decadent Desserts is a slice of heaven, right here in our city. It's time you had a taste. -

wow.. if you need a birthday cake.. and would like something better than your average Safeway cake.. trek down to 10th ave..
I think they are about $50.. serves PLENTY of people (10inch cocunut cake.. mmmmmmmm so delicious I HAD to try it!!) .. we had a party of 20+ people and they say it serves 15.. but the cake is so delicious and rich you can easily serve more people. Service is quick... just call a few days ahead to place your order. -

OMG
This is the only expression that comes to mind when visiting this shop, this is one of the most elegant and classy bakeries that I have been to in the city. The cake showcase was slim pickings today, I guess they have had a mad rush for their cakes for Christmas and I can understand why. The best way to describe DD is to give a rundown of what they have.
Cheesecakes: Vanilla, Blueberry, Raspberry, Field berry, Caramel Apple, Fudge Brownie, Dark and White Chocolate, Raspberry White Chocolate Truffle.
Pies and Tarts: Callebaut Chocolate Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, Pecan Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Very Berry Pie, Apple Pie, Frangipane Fruit Tart, Lemon Meringue Pie, Lemon Tart, and Chocolate Silk Pie.
Cakes: Coconut Cake, Lemon Almond Cake, Skor Sensation, Lemon Poppy seed Cake, Raspberry White Chocolate Cake, Lemon Cream Cake, Old Fashioned Chocolate Layer Cake, Fantasy Fudge Cake, Chocolate overdose, Chocolate Obsession, 14 Karat Cake, Chocolate Terrine, Lemon Hazelnut Crunch, Chocolate Whiskey Truffle Cake, Concord Cake, Mocha Crunch Cake, Chocolate Banana Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake.
All desserts made from scratch, I believe I don't need to say more.
