Lovely delicious strawberry banana pannecake...healthy tip: have the whip on the side...the strawberries come with a sauce anyway so there's no need for the whip...although it too is yummy :)

Ordered an "ogopogo" - Dutch pancake (kind of like a thick crepe) with broccoli, sliced mushroom and cheddar cheese.

    Food: 3/5 - decent food.
Ambiance: 3/5 - cozy place, a bit too quiet for my liking since I'm a bit on the talkative side.....
    Value: 4/5 - big portion!

Overall: I'd choose this place over any other family restaurant styled breakfast/ brunch place for sure. Good menu selection and will definitely visit again for their hash brown and open face omelettes.

What the hell is a pannekoek?  Their menu defines it for the uninformed.  Allow me to share this knowledge with you:  a "pän-ne-kook" is a genuine Dutch pancake with a flavour similar to the traditional North American pancake.  Its thickness is greater than a crepe, its diameter is 12" with a circumference is 37" AND if you cut it into square inch pieces you will enjoy 113 bites.

One hundred and thirteen morsels of pannekoek goodness with over fifty variations of both sweet toppers or savoury insiders.  Or be daring and combine a little of both.  If you've not sampled bacon with a little maple syrup, you're missing out!

I didn't enjoy one of these on my visit, I opted for a ham + Gouda Uitsmyter on buttered bread served with hash browns + fried eggs.  I was more than pleased with my choice.  I wasn't denied the taste of the pannekoek.  One of my companions had it for his breakfast with a side of bacon.  It was delicate and perfectly flavoured.  Maybe next time...

We stay at the Four Points in Richmond about once a year.  There are a lot of Asian restaurants around that I assume are fantastic, but if you're looking for a breakfast that is closer to a traditional Canadian or American breakfast, De Dutch is great.

The featured Dutch pancakes are a little thicker than a crepe, and the size of a large plate.  Choose what you want on it, roll it up, and then slice it into bites of goodness.

Only cons are parking, and there is usually a small wait for a table.

De Dutch is one of my favourite breakfast places. I just wish they were open for longer; I love breakfast for dinner.

The food always tastes fresh and I never have to worry about my coffee cup getting dry. The waiters are very attentive (except when I was paying, which is odd) and I've never had to wait very long for my food.

My favourite is the perogy pannekoek and it's large enough to eat for two meals. As a warning, it's not a large restaurant so I would suggest visiting on off-times, otherwise you'll be waiting a while. The food is definitely worth the wait but the parking can be frustrating.

I ate breakfast 1/2 hour prior to meeting people here for brunch so I planned to order just a mocha.  Things were going according to plan and I was perfectly happy with my mocha ( which came with a 6 inch pile of whipped cream on it.  pardon me, this is canada - a 10 centimeter pile).

After eyeing the food of my dining companions, even though I was perfectly full, I not only decided the apple crepe was too good to pass up but I ate every last morsel of my flying saucer-sized crepe of appley-goodness.

Really great food.  Good consistent service the few times I've gone.  Losses a star because it's a bit more pricey then other places for breakfast but still very good none the less.
