If you don't know what Dawgs are, they're the imitations of Crocks, those rubbery clog-like shoes that got popular in 2006 with the mainstream. For a long time they've been worn by nurses, teachers and others who spend a lot of time on their feet at work. Dawgs are an imitation that are pretty much the same thing. This shop is dedicated to Dawg clogs and all of the various spin-offs that have been developed to get the most mileage out of a waning trend. These remind me of the ducky boots of the '90s, that were criticized for being ugly but were really comfortable, especially for gardening and outdoor work. (My mom inherited my pair, when they were no longer cool to wear). Dawgs can be found in every conceivable colour here, and since there are holes in them, they've developed a fuzzy Dawg slipper that goes inside the shoe and can come out to be washed. There are also Dawg boots with microfibre linings that are take-offs of Ugg boots, the hottest footwear trendy still, especially in our northern wintery clime. So the imitation store is now imitating something else ... what trend ankle-biters will do for the next dollar?!
