Knowledgeable staff, bright open atmosphere (so much so that it's feels a little sterile) and delicious smelling and tasting teas available hot and cold.
With all the tea options in Victoria, it sure is difficult to decide where to go. Davids Tea is a great option and worth a try especially if you're looking for something a little different. :)
Very little seating but f you grab a spot, it's spacious, comfortable and opens onto the street adding to the vibe. However, if you're expecting a cosy atmosphere with comfy seating, go somewhere else. -

There seems to be a myriad of new tea shops popping up all over Victoria. David's Tea just so happens to blow all of them out of the water. Listen closely my fellow tea drinking fanatics. This tea smells like what it sounds like and tastes like how it smells.
For any true tea lover that's all you need to know. But alas I'll go on. I first experienced David's Tea in Kits and they blew my mind as well as my coffee addict boyfriend's. They hire people that are so seriously passionate about tea and make choosing your (not so) poison an adventure. Since then I've ordered a plethora of varieties online and have been impressed over and over again. A classic favourite is the Coco Chai Rooibos and most recent indulgences are the Buttered Rum Black and Toasted Walnut Green.
I can't tell you how elated I was to hear David's was opening shop in Victoria (the first location being Hillside) and it's even more perfect that they're located in such a great spot at Government and Johnson. -

Hmmm...
Yeah their tea smells good and stuff but there is just something "artificial" about this place. I feel like I am in a Starbucks or a Fast Food Restaurant.
The tea that they sell here just seems a bit too "tutti fruity" for my liking.
What can I say...this store just reeks of Toronto. If you like being served by summer students who learned everything they know about Tea from a 1 day training workshop, then this is your place. There are better places to buy tea in Victoria though. The Queen of England has a residence here for goodness sakes!
