Love This place. i have tried so many teas that there isn't that much room here to list. My latest favourite is the Organic Grand Cru Matcha. Expensive? YES! Amazing? Most definitely worth the $. The beauty of this tea is that you drink it all, not just steep it. So you get all the potent antioxidants. Of course the Forever Nuts is still my go to as it was my first ever David's Tea experience, and I was was hooked from that day on. Ok, since there is still room I will give my top 10 :)
1. Organic Grand Cru Matcha
2. Forever Nuts
3. Cherry Potion
4. Toasted Walnut
5. Quangzhou Milk Oolong
6. The Skinny
7. The Glow
8. Mulberry Magic
9. Blood Orange Pu'erh
10. Creme de Menthe -

Walked in to grab some tea with my husband. He was ordering and I was holding my toy poodle puppy in my arms - the guy behind the counter yelped, "SORRY NO PETS ALLOWED....WE don't have our sign up but NO PETS ALLOWED - SORRY". Loud enough for the whole store to hear.
So I politetly stepped out while my husband finished ordering - but you can bet I will NEVER step foot inside again, with or without a puppy!
Put up your damn NO PETS ALLOWED sign then instead of shouting at me about it! -

As like all the other David's tea, this one is no different. Same tea selection. But, the workers are a hit and miss here. There is a few that are super friendly and helpful, while you'll be unlucky if you end up with one that gives limited ideal options and is acting like you are not worth their time.
The location is conveniently located near a subway, so easily accessible. But, since it is quite a commute for me, I would not travel out of my way to get to this David's Tea. -

I love Davids Tea! They have a very wide verity of flavours! from herbal to green tea. My favourite at the moment would have to be birthday cake. They give you a menu and you can keep it and check off all the teas you have had! its Awesome.

Review from Tina H.
Most of the staff at this store were friendly but unfortunately I was lucky enough to get the one girl who was rude but tried to mask it with an extreme amount of fake happiness. I only ended up buying stuff because my family wants it for Christmas. Won't be going to this location again unless I want to feel ripped off during the tea-weighing process by an extremely fake girl who appears to hate people and her job but tries really hard to look like she loves it.
TIP: If you're getting multiple tins, ask that they weigh and set the tare weight for each tin individually, unless you don't mind there being inconsistencies, because some tins are heavier than others (manufacturing process). It maybe makes a difference of one cup of tea per tin but it's the principle of it all. You wouldn't want to buy oranges from the grocery store and pay the weight of an apple or banana sitting on the scale accidentally... Sure it's not by much but still, it kinda matters.
I've never had this problem at the Queen West or Vancouver locations and just dealing with it this time was really annoying, and the extra attitude really sets a negative atmosphere which puts a damper in the rest of your day. People like that should not be in customer service-oriented work and should sit behind a computer where talking to people is not part of the job.
David's Tea has pretty good tea... Not the best but not the worst... Lots of random stuff in some of it and it seems a bit extravagant but for some reason people love the idea of whole walnuts, chocolate and candy in tea. They have some decent higher grade plain/straight/nothing added teas but they seem to place more emphasis on their flavoured ones.
Iced tea I got here a while back was bitter and terrible. I had to throw it out. I'm going to guess that they didn't clean out the steeper before steeping it. I've never had this problem at the Queen West or Vancouver locations.
I wish this location was as good as the Queen West location, but unfortunately it doesn't come close. David's Tea has been popping up everywhere, I guess it's hard to keep track and make sure the same quality goes into every store.
If today's experience was my only experience ever with David's Tea I'd swear them off for good because that girl totally pissed me off, but I remember when they first started on Queen West and I would go to the store all the time, so it's not my only experience with them. I loved them then and I love the product so I'd still get from them, but probably not as often, and definitely not at this location.
Regardless of the good stuff, 1 star for how terrible I felt after leaving the store. Plus, my previous review for this location was a 2 because of how awful the iced tea tasted, and it only went downhill so 1 it is. Angry that the woman had such attitude underneath the extreme amount of fakeness--I guess she doesn't know people can see through that. I didn't want to spend any money in the store but my family specifically asked for certain teas so I did. Shopping is supposed to make you happy. I used to shop at the Queen West location and be extremely happy after leaving the store because I had just bought all this great tea and cool tea accessories. That definitely wasn't today's experience. I would go out of my way to go to the Queen West location. Can't speak for other locations in Toronto but this one is the worse out of the 3 I've tried (Queen West, Vancouver).1 Previous Review: Show all »

I've lived in the yonge and eglinton area for pretty much my entire life, yet I've never really hung out in the hood since there's not a lot for me there. David's Tea has changed that! I love this place, I love their tea, I love their staff! Everyone who works there is super nice and really interesting - I've met a naturopatic student, an engineer, a girl who specializes in prosthetic limbs.
They have soya milk and agave and make a mean tea or latte. Great selection of teas, delicious combinations such as Forever Nuts (spiced nut tea), Glitter and Gold (a sweet black tea with glitter) and Chickory Dickory Dock (a chickory, vanilla, almond blend).
They're open till a decent time (9pm M-W, 10pm Thurs-Sun) and always have great music.
There are only two tables, so it's sadly not always somewhere you can sit and have tea with a friend - this, and the lack of outdoor seating in the summer, is the only reason they got 4 instead of 5 stars. That being said, though, I've only not been able to get a seat about 3 times out of the many that I've gone. I've sat and studied for hours - love it!!Listed in: In search of a perfect cafe

My love for David's Tea has grown! I love so many of their teas, especially their iced-teas this summer; truly a healthy, refreshing and hydrating treat. Any tea that they have, you can get them either hot or iced. My personal favourites this summer is blazing strawberries from their summer collection, goji pop is incredible iced and shanti ayurvedic caffeine free tea is a must before I go to sleep as it really calms you and allows shut-eye fast.
I've become so addicted to this place that my kitchen cupboard is starting to resemble a mini David's Tea store. The staff continues to be very friendly, helpful and has introduced me to so many tasty and very healthy teas. I had a problem with people sniffing out of the tea canisters since the same tea people were breathing over was steeped for everyone else; I found that gross. Now, the canisters have a section where they open the lid and there is a small tray of tea that is for smelling purposes only. The tea that is steeped for us is stored in the other half of the canister. I find this more sanitary.
Also, their summer promotion is awesome- buy their double wall BPA-free plastic snap lid tumbler for iced-tea ($9.50) and receive a free iced-tea upon purchase, and if you bring this tumbler into David's Tea you get the iced-tea of the day refills all summer for only $1!Listed in: Yonge & Eglinton, Coffee, Tea & Juice, My Top Rated

First let me start by saying this is NOT a place to sit and drink tea. They have two small tables but it feels super awkward to drink you tea here, I think it's meant more as a waiting area. They do take-out tea and tea latte's though.
As an occasional tea drinker, I do like David's Tea (I am a coffee addict to the core).
They have probably 100 different varieties of loose leaf tea in every flavour you can imagine.
The second we walked in we were handed a sample of their creme brulee tea, which was pretty tasty. The sales girl then press tea canister after tea canister to our noses to smell. After about 10 minutes of non-stop talking by the sales girl we agreed to buy a small sample.
It seems fairly reasonably priced (I payed $3.37 for a little bag that will make about 12 cups of loose leaf apple cinnamon tea) and the people that run the place really know what they're talking about.
They are pushy sales people but they are also very knowledgeable, friendly and sell what seems to be a great product.
My overall assessment is if you're into tea, you'll absolutely love this place! If you're not, you still might find something that appeals.Listed in: Yonge and Eglinton

When it comes to tea DavidsTea is the bee's knees. Remember the first time you tried "fancy coffee" and you had no idea what you were doing nor did the staff make you feel comfortable? That was me yesterday but instead I was welcomed with open arms.
The staff are really knowledgeable and provide recommendations based on your tastes and give testers out to ensure you like it. They are willing to spend as much time as necessary sniffing and tasting teas to ensure you are happy with the tea you've bought and walk out with a bit more knowledge, or in my case, a lot more knowledge of teas than when you arrived.
They have cool tea cups, steepers, and other funky tea contraptions that I'm thinking of picking up. There isn't a place to sit but who needs to sit when you're sniffing different teas. I ended up with a matcha green tea with brown rice in it in a large resealable canister. With that canister you receive a discount next time you buy tea.
Overall, some of the most attentive service I've had anywhere and the prices are reasonable. Can't go wrong with DavidsTea and I recommend everyone go! -

Huge fan of this place. The staff is super nice and always willing to spend as much time as required to find the perfect tea. Everyday their giving samples of tea away and right now if you bring your own mug you get free tea! How awesome is that?
When you purchase 100gr of tea, you also get a pretty cool aluminum container to keep it fresh. If you return with the container when you get more they give you a small discount.
Go and try it out for yourself! -

I agree with Anita. I feel like I died and went to tea heaven. I walked in and instantly felt calmer knowing I was in my own environment. It wasn't the face slapping smell of coffee in the air, it was the soothing scent of tea.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I sampled the swampwater iced tea and instantly fell in love. I bought some with guava added to it. I instantly wanted to bathe in it. It was so delicious! I didn't get to spend too much time in there but the next time I go, I plan on taking full advantage of the many jars of tea in their wonderful establishment. -

I live for tea. Really. And when you put me in front of hundreds of different varieties of tea, well, you've really just made my day (if not week or month!).
It's ludacris to try and taste ALL the tea... but out of what I have tried...*swoon*
My top 5 (in no particular order):
1. David's Biodynamic Breakfast
2. 3 Wishes Tea
3. Life Long Oolong
4. Pumpkin Chai
5. Himalayan Traveller's Tea
Not only is David's fully stocked with tea, oh no, it is FULLY stocked with tea accessories such as strainers, tea presses, mugs, tea pots, books - it's kinda like you've died and went to tea-heaven.
And the staff is fabulous - they know so much about the tea and are so willing to share their insights and recommendations. For instance did you know that "Life Long Oolong" is known for it's fat-blocking properties as well as it's ability to speed up your metabolism? Well, now you know.
My next mission: To meet David. -
Review from Sanita M.
They have a very excellent tea selection that I love. I got different teas - Lime Gelato (green tea) that tastes just amazing both hot and cold (very creamy and fresh), Citron Oolong (this tea is also amazing, smells like sweet lemon and tastes heavenly) and Blazing Strawberries (also green tea, unfortunately not my favorite as it doesnt taste much like either strawberries or green tea)... But they do have amazing store with amazing flavours and friendly stuff working there.

I keep finding myself writing five-star reviews. I'm usually a cranky old codger but I've had some really good luck lately.
I'm not the first person to rave about DavidsTea. There are plenty of 4- and 5-stars about the Queen W. location but I felt it essential to put a pushpin in the map for these guys at Yonge and Eglinton. From here on in, I'm basically rewording what others have said about other locations...
Two things really impressed me about DavidsTea:
Awesome Staff (they deserve the rant I'm about to embark on):
I walked in with two friends and ten seconds later there were three shots of tea in front of us for tasting (this is standard practice apparently). What I appreciated most about the staff was their passion. They weren't so much willing to help me find the perfect teas as they were dying to put product in front of me and share their wealth of tea knowledge. Even better, they were neither cooler-than-you knowledgeable like the oh-so-cliche record store music geek nor my-favourite-author-(this-week)-should-be-your-fav ourite-author evangelists like the over-caffeinated fiction-shelvers at the big box book brokers. I'm not really a "tea guy" but it didn't matter. The staff made my shopping experience fun and completely unintimidating by knowing their stuff and showing an eagerness to help. Between two staff running around on my behalf I must have sniffed about 20 teas before settling on three (and I went in because my friends wanted tea, not me).
Awesome Product:
DavidsTea has more tea than I even knew existed, I was introduced to mate (ma-tay), which is non-caffeinated but has a similar stimulant that is, at present, driving me to type at twice my normal speed (the flavour I got is called Jumpy Monkey, so I shouldn't be surprised). There are more flavours of more leaves than are worth listing (just go to http://www.davidstea.com/ if you want to know). I settled on the tea of the day (Secret Weapon, a white tea with licorice and soji berries) ad well as Organic Raspberry Nectar and Turning Leaf (a creamy-smelling rooibos). I splurged for the tins ($2.50 each, but they give an air-tight seal and keep your tea good for up to two years). I'll now save 50 cents whenever I drop by for a refill. The other option is a bag, which is free. Either way, each tea I bought came with a label that described its flavours and ingredients. Very handy.
Not much of a place for sitting; they have a couple seats at the front of the store. Still, I didn't feel like this was much of a loss (although it did hold them back from five-and-a-half stars).Listed in: The Midtown Strip

Review from Farnoosh B.
Hands down, one of the best tea shops I have visited all over the world. The staff is super nice. The tea is served in nice mugs and re-steeps super well. I have even asked them for a go-cup for that 4th steep at no charge. The taste of tea is delicious - I went for hot Oolong tea and tried two of them - both beyond delicious and satiating and cleansing and I loved it....highly recommend them!!!! Two visits total and plan to go back but only on vacation here in Toronto.

Loooove this place!! The staff is lovely, knowledgable and friendly without being pushy at all. As a die hard coffee drinker who is trying to reduce caffeine a bit, this place was a jackpot. You can walk in without a clue (difference between white tea, chai and rooibos? No idea), and they will hook you up with something perfect for you. I typically have requests like, "I want a tea with caffeine, tastes like candy, no fruit" and they can pull down something perfect. No complaints, not pretentious at all and it's a lovely little spot to try something new for relatively cheap (a 100g tin is under $10).

There are lots of loose tea tea boutiques in Toronto now (and I've been to most of them) but this one really stands out for the outstanding service. Today I was offered a free sample of the day as soon as I walked in--Caramel Rooibos--delicious! Have it made into a latte for a hot delicious treat on a cold day. The selection and quality of teas, accessories and gift items is excellent. A neighborhood gem.
