    5/5 Will go again weekly.
I am adddiiiiicted to this place.
The tea selection is unbelievable. The prices are great. And after going here bi weekly (including to the other location in the Path,), I can say that I am a David's Tea addict! Let's put it this way- this is where my family bought me gift certificates for Christmas. Lots of samples, "tea of the days," and well informed, friendly staff. (I have yet to meet a staff member I did not like.)
    You MUST go here!

This is probably one of the best David's Tea in Toronto. The workers are always super friendly and helpful. Great service = getting the best tea = happy tea addict.

The only downfall to this location is that it is located in the very busy Queen Street West, attraction to many shoppers. This store is always busy and stuffed; line ups are very common. Sometimes can be understaffed and service may be slow in that way, but since the workers are so helpful, the wait is well-deserved!

Definitely check this location out if you want to get hooked to tea!

    Mmmmm.

My favourite tea from David's Tea was actually discovered at this location. Three Wishes Tea is my absolutely favourite (along with the classic Earl Grey!)

I NEED one of these in my hometown. They started my love affair with teas - I was always a fan, but stuck to those that came in bags and boring flavors.

Came here for a trip with a friend  to cool down and have literally been searching for a similar tea in the US. I have found some nice teas, but I am still dreaming about the gogi pop herbal tea from there.

This place is amazing- they give samples and brew you a hot or iced cup right there (have not found a tea shop in my area that does this).

Employees are so helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are low and they have many different options.

I keep forgetting to order from their site but will do it as soon as I remember.

Go here and try them at least once- it changed my life.

When your boyfriend says he loves tea but has never been to David's Tea you know that you have a responsibility to pop that cherry at once. While aimlessly walking around Queen West on a cold night with no gloves (I know, I know) we decided a nice cup of tea would be just the thing to warm up our crystallized hands.

I master tea pimps, our server pushed some free samples on us. I promptly explained that my bf was a David's Tea virgin and his eye lit up! We was super friendly and even gave us the tea on the house. I know $5 worth of tea isn't much but the gesture was totally unexpected and definitely appreciated.

Sadly they no longer carry the amazing cupcakes I used to love, but once again they still proved to have amazing service and always know how to treat their customers. Recommended to all virgins out there :-)

Never been to DavidsTea and has been labeled a "tea virgin" according to my gf. lol... So we decided to fix that.

David's tea has some modern vibes, but still have classic customer service.  If you want to be schooled in proper customer service and would like to experience a wide selection of crazy ass tea flavours, DAVIDsTea is the place to be!

Recommend the Caramel Walnut tea for those nights when you forget your gloves while walking about on Queen St. :)

i love tea. i love collecting tea ... and i always seek out a tea shop in every city i live in to find something like this!

amongst my favorites are Porto Rico in NY and STEEPS in Vancouver (although they changed the name to something stupid now). variety is always key .... i like how the canisters here are lined up against the wall according to type and you can choose whether you want rooibos .. green .... white ... red .... black, etc.

price is reasonable, people are nice, and there's tons to choose from. yay!

I love teas, I have so many at home from all over but this is place is my favorite! They have so many tea selections, all kinds. I always feel as a child in a candy store there! My favorite teas so far are: Lime Gelato, Citron Oolong, Dolce & Banana, Northern Light and Dolce & Banana. I have also sent some teas to my relatives, and they love these teas, as well. They also like Movie Night that is with nuts, popcorn and maple syrup. I will always come back to try new tea.
Also everyone is so friendly and helpful there!

Oh mine!! This David's Tea location is the BEST I have been to!!

One would have argue.. it is just another Franchise.. selling similar products.. tea just tea? David's Tea is just another David's Tea? No.. not really!!

Patio.. right on Queen Street West.. great place to people watching and enjoying Toronto's Summer!

Free Wifi with electric plugs! My Yelp "Blogger" Friend was so content while I was in my yoga class, she was still at the same bar stool exactly where I left her with my Ipod :)

Amazing Staff!! At least that friendly dude that served us! My friend just could not decide what tea to have.. All she said I want a iced tea... And off he went and grabbed over 10 different tea leaves for her to smell... That's what I call SERVICE!!

My Organic Throat Soother ($2.50) was awesome! He put in just the right amount of honey to give my tea a hint of sweetness..... perfect for my dried and itchy throat..........

Now I know where to hang out while I am in the area.. or when I just OD on cafferine and just want to have some tea!

Wow. Apparently this place has been here for almost three years and i've never noticed it's existence until last week.

I am not a tea drinker regularly, but I walked by David's Tea on a hot day and saw ppl sitting on the patio sipping iced tea, i walked in to check it out. The service here is incredible. I asked to try their tea of the day, the first of which I did not like because i thought it was too nutty, so the girl helping me started showing me all types of tea they have, let me smell it and pick the one i liked so she can make it for me. They can customize almost any tea you want! It's like a tea version of Starbucks, but less commercial.  Great place!

Perhaps I was unlucky, but I can't really go over 3 stars after my first experience in David's Tea.  I have been trying to cut down on my junk food this week but decided to allow myself Sunday treats.  The friendly girl in Little Nicky's had recommended the cupcakes in David's Tea so I just had to try them.

The so-so rating is purely based on poor service.  The Australian girl ignored the 2 customers (including me)  for ages while she chatted with the girl who was delivering boxes of cupcakes.  Eventually she got iced tea for the other person who had obviously been waiting since before I entered.  I asked about cupcake flavours.  There were 5 cakes on display, 3 flavours.  One was drumstick.  I asked what that was and she said "like the ice-cream" and turned away.  That didn't help since I have no idea what drumstick is so opted for peanut butter.  I remarked that the selection in the boxes that had been delivered looked better but she wouldn't let me have one because she hadn't sorted through them.

Cupcake-excellent.   Small but really yummy.  Probably the best I've had in Toronto so far.  $2.86 after tax.  If I could find the person who makes them I would set up a direct debit for a selection each and every weekend with extras on special occasions.   I've been incredibly disappointed by most cupcakes around so far but loved this.

The shop itself is really cute with a wide variety of teas and lovely colourful tea paraphernalia.

Service today though was rude, disinterested and unhelpful.  I didn't dare to ask about teas in case I would get my head bitten off.  Maybe I'll summon up the courage next time.  Or go back for more cupcakes.  But I'll check who's working there first....

For EVERY possible tea accessory and a great and yummy selection of teas, this is the place. Not only is there a ton of choice, but the staff is super friendly AND knowledgeable. Even when it's crowded, they are still very attentive and focused on your tea interests and inquiries!

My tea fave: Green seduction. Delicious.

My fave accessory: Bodum double wall glasses and tea pot (w/ infuser)

Slightly pricey, $7(and up) for 50g of loose leaf tea

i am a tea fanatic. i have tried so many teas from different tea shops in canada and the states in my life that it is truly hard to keep up. but i know a great tea when i have it that's for sure. david's tea is OK, honestly. it's not the BEST quality tea i've ever had but it's not bad either. it's just boring in flavor, perhaps what i've tried anyway. what impressed me is their selection of pu'erh teas which a large majority of tea houses do not care to carry. it befuddles me because pu'erh is such a life saver- from helping large meals get digested to curing hangovers, i'm surprised it's not more popular. anyway, the CREME DE MENTHE tea is absolutely divine here. the smell alone is intoxicating enough that you feel like you've already had a cup. it is slightly pricy for the amount you get though and i wish they had deals where you could get more then 100g at a time for a better price.

i tried iced luscious watermelon and was not impressed. tasted like an ordinary fruit tea without many hints of watermelon like promised. perhaps it needs a little tweaking for i was told it's only a summer tea. another favorite is glitter & gold - not only is it a delicious black tea, it actually DOES shimmer if you pay close enough attention, or sip your tea real slow like i do. it's magical. other then the two black teas that i fell in love with, everything else that i've had (many of the fruit blends) have really failed to tickle my senses. i don't know why or what it is but i just cannot get into it.

i will be coming back to this place over and over for my pu'erh fix and perhaps over time i will find a fruity tea that i will find divine and alter this review. but until then i'll stick to my cup of glittering gold.

Toronto has more places to buy quality loose tea per capita than New York, really.

During a recent visit I tried a number of David's blends and stocked up for the return to New York.  Good quality, reasonable prices, nice design sense, friendly, charming, helpful staff and a nice atmosphere.

David's won't replace mail order sources for specific varietal teas, but they offer many good and unique blends.

I hope i'm not "talking out of school" here but when I mentioned to one of the employees that there wasn't any place truly like David's in New York, she mentioned they intend opening a store in New York.  Good news!

As much as Mike S.'s review makes my blood boil with anger and is provoking me to write several essays in defense of tea (possibly in all caps with minor profanity), I will refrain from such behaviour and just defend David's Tea to the grave.

If you've ever been to the Lupicia chain in California/Hawaii, you'll be happy to know that David's Tea is almost identical in product and service, except on Queen Street! They offer all sorts of organic teas, ranging from black to green to rooibos to, well, everything. You'll walk in and be greeted with a tiny cup of the tea of the day. You will want to buy this tea.

Upon arriving at the counter, you'll realize there is more tea than you know what to do with. If I can recommend anything to you, I recommend asking to smell the teas and definitely taking at least one home with you (as well as the brochure so you can decide which one to grab next time). Their "Monkey" line of teas is especially delicious -- banana mixed with all sorts of warm, cozy spices. I'm a big fan of the Oolong and Jasmine teas, as well as anything in the Apple Turnover/Pumpkin Spice family.

If you really can't decide, pick up a tea to go for $2.50, which is totally cheap considering you would pay the same at a coffee joint for a crap tea in a bag that ends up tasting like the cup it's served in (I'm looking at you, Tim Hortons).

And if you don't like tea, or you think that people who drink tea are too "weak" to drink coffee...first of all, please shut up, and secondly, don't go to David's. It's already getting kind of crowded and I'd rather you don't take up space in my new favourite joint.

Watch out coffee shops - tea is going to take over soon! With all of the varieties of teas on the shelves, picking a tea is almost like picking a wine!  I went for the Rooibos creme caramel, that has little pieces of caramel in it. the staff are incredibly nice, in fact when I forgot my book the server offered me hers to read! I declined and got my tea to go, but it was so nice of her to even offer!

I would have given 5 stars, but $2.60 for a cup of tea, even if it is organic and magical, seems like a lot.

David's tea is a pretty chilled spot.  Although the pricing of the tea's are a tad pricey, the staff at this place are kind and great!

I remember I was coming down with a cold, and the staff was there to recommend me some teas.

However, even though this place is specialty in teas.. I would rather just have a venti tea at starbucks, because it's cheaper.  I can't really rationalize the fact the teas can cost more then $1.50, since it's just really a tea bag & hot water.

The staff here is always extremely helpful and friendly.
This totally makes up for the fact that sometimes they spent *too* much time chatting with a customer, and due to lack of time, I've had to walk out instead of waiting.

They also let me bring my dog in the store, which is a huge bonus for me.

My favourite drink to get is the tea of the day, iced.
It's always a special, refreshing treat - and it's nice to find a cold drink that isn't pre-sweetened.

I didn't think it was possible to spend so much time at a tea store.  I was overwhelmed with their selection and highly impressed with the friendly, helpful staff.  They have lots to choose from, both in teas and in other merchandise (tea steeping supplies).  The experience is enhanced with free samples of one of their teas.

It was impossible for me to walk out of David's without making a purchase.  I fell in love with several tea flavours, but realized I could only drink so much tea, so I settled on just one - a sencha with berries.  I had to get the cute David's Tea tin that gives me a discount every time I come in for a refill.  The alternative is a bag.

I was able to leave David's without buying (or stealing) a cupcake, but they definitely looked delicious.

Walking into this store will take any tea lover's breath away.  Before I was barely two steps inside a super-friendly employee was handing me a sample of the "tea of the day"; a roasted green tea with vanilla.  I came here on recommendations from other Yelpers and I glad I did.

To your right is a wall of any tea making accessory or nick-nack you could imagine.  Plus organic honey, flavoured honey sticks, and more.  To your left is an awe inspiring rainbow wall of loose teas colour-coded by type.

Today I decided to go with an iced rooibos tea.  The employee was really friendly and helpful.  Before I knew it I had 6 different rooibos blends under my nose sending my senses into overdrive.  I settled on Swamp Water, a fruit blended rooibos.  It was delicious.

I have found my new home for tea.

I work around the corner, and as easy as it would be to buy a bag of tea and steep it at my desk, I make sure I get out of my office and hit up Davids Tea for a cup of amazing tea.

The staff, their knowledge, friendliness, and quality of teas is what keeps making me come back.

They recently had Tea Classes which were great. Informative on the hints of differences between blacks, greens, whites, and oolongs.

They have much more than just Tea, they have all the accessories that goes along with tea. Pots, cups, items to hold loose leaf tea.

When you visit make sure you get an Oolong, those are the best.

I've never actually spent much quality time in David's Tea as a cafe, but have browsed their products *plenty*! I dropped in recently with a friend during the pre-holiday bustle - we had a look at their pre-packed tea leaf sets and the huge range of accessories and equipment. Some really, really lovely tea pots & mugs - but just a pinch out of my price range.

There were plenty of folks behind the counter to help when we got to wanting to look at teas - the huuuuuge wall of teas. The tins have colour-coded labels which distinguish between the types of leaves - green, white, black, rooibos, etc. My friend and I ran through quite a lot of types, sniffing and peering into tins, and generally being pretty picky and asking for quite a lot - but our helper was still very gracious and patient!

I ended up buying a couple of small sachets of tea - they did try to upsell me to a larger size - which, sure I get a free tin, but I don't really want to start off with the large size of a new tea. I also wish the tea prices were more obvious here - they're fairly standard prices, but I like to know these things as i'm browsing.

Overall, David's is a lovely store with great products and quite good quality teas (some great flavours too). I like that you get a little sample of whatever's their tea of the day and I would very much like to get back to try some more of their massive range of tea.

The gals at David's seem to have a sample ready for me before I even push the door open. How's that for service? AND they're clearly excited about talking about their products in a very unsleazy way, with a penchant for shoving your nostrils in the tea leaves for a voluminously heady whiff. Bliss.

And even though their leaves aren't in open canisters for customer's paws, the staff here is so knowledgeable that I'm very comfortable with walking in, asking for their advice, and knowing they'll hit my tummy joy button every time.

    Home run.

Great friendly staff, a huge selection of teas, and cool environmentally friendly tin containers for your loose leaf tea...what more could you want? I love this place...Just a couple of weeks ago they were giving away tea to anyone who brought a mug for a solid week. It seems that every time I pass by this place they're having some other cool promotion or some event going on.

Granted I'm sure I'm a little partial as I live 5 minute away (maybe actually 4 :) ), but honestly, all you need to do is walk, tell the staff how you're feeling and they'll suggest a tasty tea.

David's may very well be my new favourite place to stock up on tea! It's a recent addition to the Queen West shopping district and houses hundreds of specialty loose teas and tea accessories. If you're in the market for an infuser, teapot, tempered glass mugs, matcha powder or any other tea accoutrement you can dream of, David's will have it in stock.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and offer sample tea tastings, or you can get your favourite tea blend to go. Inexplicably the store shares a washroom (and open wall) with Le Chateau. No doubt legacy from when it used to be the old Fresh/Juice For Life, which was the same situation (shared washroom).

My favourite teas are Lime Bang, Organic Sweet Dream, Moroccan Mint, Greek Mountain Tea and Night Out. Also be sure to try a "Sampler Kit" if you're new to a certain type of tea (I'm doing this with green at the moment), which includes five 5g bags of tea for $15.

Typically I go out for coffee and make tea at home, but when a friend suggested going to David's, I figured the Yelp reviews were positive enough to intrigue me.

The wall of tea is a pretty stunning sight. They are colour coordinated and have tempting flavours and names such as "dulce and banana." My friend and I opted to get that after the friendly server let us get a whiff of the fall collection.

The cup of tea is pretty huge and comes with a fancy teabag. (I think it was $2.63 each.) There's free honey and a quiet atmosphere. As nice as the tea was, I found the place itself a bit underwhelming - it's small, has two tables that you can't sit at because of presentations set atop them, and the tables where you may sit are cramped together.

They sell a lot of alluring tea accessories but the prices are a bit steep. I did score some peach honey sticks (5 for $1) and admired some fancy contraptions.

Four stars because I am a pushover. If I had my choice of tea places, I'd love to go to a traditional-esque tea house, but for the Queen St strip, this is a good addition.

I think that it's weird to have a shop dedicated to tea. Everyone knows
that tea is simply an second rate option in coffee shops for people who
don't have the intestinal fortitude to drink a real caffeinated drink,
which is why it pains me to like David's Tea so much. The store is
small but the location is good and their cupcakes are even better. When
I went I had the mint chocolate cupcake which must have had at least 3
inches of frosting on the top and yet I still craved more. While I'm
not a dainty eater I rarely inhale things, but I can pretty confidently
say that I inhaled this cupcake. I do recommend this store for those of
you who prefer the little baby sister of coffee or to people who aren't
diabetic and would like to become so, because their baked goods are so
good you will have trouble stopping.

    Love Davids Tea.

Staff is very well trained and will hook you up with whatever you're in the mood for - even when using super abstract thoughts!

    iLOVEthisplace!

It is such a treat. Rather than feeling intimidated but the wall of teas behind the counter I am calmed by the staff whose mission seems to be finding me the perfect tea for the day.

It must be really hard for them because no one should have a special upon entering. I know I want to try each flavour and wouldn't go back to the same kind. Then again, some people like their traditions!

It is my personal tradition to treat my treat with a little cupcake or macaron. I would throw out a suggestion but honestly, anything goes.

Same with the tea, anything goes. Even if you don't like tea, they will find you one that you LOVE! And you will look at the merchandise and wish you could have it all.

    Promise.

Terrific place to browse even if you're not a tea fanatic or tea lover.  Very friendly staff ready to educate or hand out samples, which made me want to be a tea drinker.  Outstanding selections of tea which they sold by weight or in pre-packaged tins, this was an excellent place to buy souvenirs.  Really unique decor and hospitable environment, if I lived here I'd come back regularly.

David's Tea shares some store space with Le Chateau, but I was assured that it's only a sublet relationship (obviously this is a question they get a lot.)  David's Tea differentiates itself as a more laid back place than Le Chateau.  David's plays laid back jazz tunes, for example.

As soon as I walk in, tea shop employees look up with a smile.  I'm not sure if this is because I'm their first customer in a while, or because they're genuinely nice people, but I don't think about it too much.  Their tea of the day is available as a sample, a tiny shot glass of tea.  Then they got into talking.  The staff I spoke with was very talkative and very excited about tea in general.  Telling her I steeped tea at home earned me a nod of approval, and when I asked that she recommend a tea, she had 3 for me to smell very quickly.  The tea itself wasn't the greatest, but there are dozens upon dozens to choose from, and that's bound to happen when trying new teas.

This place is amazing because of the variety of teas on offer (as one would hope from a tea shop), the fact that each of these teas may be purchased as a single beverage in hot or iced format and the outstanding service.

Particularly notable is tea-man Steve, who was kind and learned in the ways of tea, and generally exuded an aura of calm that fit right into my preconceived notions of how a tea shop server might be.

    My personal favourite? Secret weapon.

I am a coffee drinker.  I've had my days where tea sounded like a good idea, but then a nice short cappuccino pops in my mind. However, DavidsTea is so lovely, I had to go in. I always like the idea of drinking something hot at night before bed. Decaf coffee at night is so wrong, though. So, tea time for me is 10:30pm. I asked the owner of David's for a decaf tea with a strong flavor, not some wimpy tea. Boy, he showed me like 8 different options in different spice ranges and different price ranges. I took home a Coco Chai Rooiboos (spicy, chai with butter) and Pitta Ayurvedic (mint, lemongrass beautiful flowers). Wow! I never knew there were so many different types. Coffee certainly can't do that.

David's is one of the better tea places I've visited. While venturing away from the traditional tea house David's still stocks itself with quality combinations. The helpful staff will guide you to the right selection. I've never found a tea here I didn't enjoy.
