I was thrilled to see this shop open in FCP. With winter (ugh) fast approaching, the craving for teas is strong.
First off, the decor is sleek, streamlined and reminiscent of a modern alchemist's shop, metal tins, bright labels, white walls and helpful staff at the ready to mix their tea potions. Oh and let's not forget the tea accessories, various pots for brewing, tea cups, thermometers, tea pouches...love, love, love!
I tried the Buttered Rum (toasted coconut and vanilla) on my first trip and it was love at first sip! I bought some for home and have been enjoying it ever since. Now, there are still some 120 more teas to sample from their menu, so that should have me covered until summer returns.
Since then, I've tried Checkmate (a black tea/chamomile/coconut blend that actually tastes like chocolate) and their Super Chocolate (cinnamon, cocoa nibs with green rooibos and green tea)...see a trend here? Anyway, I'll be back there today to try another delicous concoction...Jumpy Monkey!Listed in: 30-Day Yelp Challenge,…

David's Tea has opened in the newly renovated First Canadian Place. This store is very nice: brightly lit with bright colours. It's a nice alternative to the plethora of coffee shops nearby.
I like to pine over the assortment of tea accessories though some are just too pretty to decorate my drab cubicle desk.
I've always enjoyed David's Tea for their product so it's nice to grab a delicious tea to-go or pick up a little bag of loose leaf. Their maté selection is good and have been a godsend for the days when even an espresso won't do. -

I love the matcha tea though, quite frankly, it is a bit fishy tasting. i wish they would sell the grand cru by the cup but they dont.
anyway, i line up today to buy my cup of incredibly satisfying but a little bit fishy-tasting cup of matcha. i line up and i wait. i wait some more then i go over to naturally yours to buy a chocalete bar, talk to Bob and rejoin the line. Not that i was dying to talk to Bob but i'm not sure how much choice i have in the matter.
to make a long story short, i go back to DT, the line is a bit longer and when i go to another cash register (ignoring the lined-up plebs) i'm completely ignored.
i guess that was ok that i was ignored. and though i wish they would sell grand cru by the cup--that's probably ok too.
what really bothers me is that none of the staff thought to start operating another cash. the lineup scenario is totally unclear unlike Sbucks where it is double or triple registered and incredibly clear. and were these people waiting for hot water and a tea leaves? When they could have matcha??
it felt like i just lost half a lifetime.
