Let's be clear on one thing: while I think the Dartmouth Dental Centre is very good at what it does, I am not, repeat not, a fan of the dentist. You could go as far to say I am dentist-phobic. Just thinking about going to a place with drills and picks and those crazy lead aprons gets my heart hammering, actually being in one causes a minor anxiety attack.
Which is why I am so appreciative of the folks at DDC: they get it. Not only are they very understanding of my anti-dental-stance, they do everything they can to make sure I am as comfortable as possible, and never once have they mocked my cowardly ways.
In particular, I am grateful to have found Dr. Lucy Lamond as she possesses a trait I find especially helpful in the tooth-fixin'-tribe: she's funny.
There is nothing like a little humour to distract from whatever shenanigans are transpiring in one's mouth
There is plenty of free parking, they accept most if not all standard health insurance policies and the space is pleasant enough that I can almost forget I'm at the dentist. Almost ... but I always leave with a smile!Listed in: The Delight That Is Dartmouth
