Definitely has improved 100% since new owner took over.  Ordered the Ginger beef (crispy), lemon chicken, chop suey, and fried rice.  It was really quite decent for the price!  Before with the previous owner the food was very saucy, but now the food is much more tasty and has more vegetables.

Dan's Kitchen 2004 is now Dan's Kitchen 2010 having been acquired by the current owner last year.

Take out and delivery ($ 15 minimum but at no charge) only, Dan's Kitchen features conventional Cantonese Chinese food prepared freshly and to order.

Wifey and I dropped in to place our order and Steve, the front man, wrote it all out and accepted out Visa card. I asked if I could wait in the kitchen to observe while wifey went next door to the Raven Pub to enquire about the "wings and jugs" special for the next night.

Steve and his wok mate Bin Lie went right to work on our order, everything fresh, even the cooking of our won ton for the soup.

Back at our place, we tucked in.

The large won ton soup ($ 5.95) was hot and steaming and quite good when we got home. While the broth was somewhat thin, the tasty won tons, broccoli, roated pork and green onions were quite good.

The vegetarian spring rolls ($ 1.25 each) were large and a bit oily but good. Hotter oil in the deep fryer would have helped.

I had the Special Combination Dinner For One B ($ 9.95) which included a lot of mushroom fried rice, actually wok fried rather than simply doused with soy sauce, containing eggs (the first item into the wok), mushrooms (Duh!) but not fresh, corn kernels and peas. Good but not outstanding as fried rice can sometimes be.

Next up was the sweet and sour pork, again rather ordinary but good. Also with the dinner was chicken dai ding (cashew nut chicken), still acceptable with lots of red bell peppers but could use less carrot and more white onion. Also, the cashew nuts were thrown on after the dish was "plated" in the styrofoam take out container. Better would have been in the wok toasting along with the other ingredients.

Finally, the Kung Pao Chicken ($ 7.95). Alas, not very good. No discernible peppers or pepper flakes so it was very mild. Little sauce. I would advise more chicken, less veggies. Again, the peanuts were thrown on after the dish had left the wok. What are they afraid of? Throw 'em in the wok! And throw in more peppers! Heat it up!

Their prices are well below BC typical and the portions are very large.

Good value. OK food. Nice guys. Go there.
