Great Place for hot and sexy noodles!!!

Danny is the MAN! u know why? i'll tell you! he remembers who you are when you walk in! Nice and friendly staff! im loving it already!! He runs a small restaurant in Ironwood plaza on Steveston Hwy and no. 5 road! and to my knowledge, that's the only Chinese restaurant  within 5 miles,  SO U KNOW IT GOTS TO BE GOOD!!!... and it really is!

I personally like the Wonton Noodle soup here! very fresh tasting and loaded with flavor (No MSG, No worries, brah). u could always have the option of putting MSG on your food if your gangster like that... ;)

You know ur at a bomb-ass restaurant when you see dead Duck, pig, and chicken hanging in a window! mmMMmm...(waddup Vegans :P.. j/k)  The BBQ Duck or the pork on rice is my second and third favorite! but get it early because it tends to sell out! mmm slather on that duck juice and hot sauce son!

This place is great for lunch as they have daily specials, and it gets pretty packed during that time but no worries because the food comes out quick!! so quick that even before i could finish a tweet, BOOM first course!!! not bad at all!

    A favorite in South Richmond

Danny and his wife Joyce run a great place, and we always enjoy both our food and the service here. We find the food is always hot and delicious. Being "westerners", we are not familiar with many of the items on the menu, and they always go out of their way to point out options we hadn't considered on the menu if we ask, or to warn about items that are "aquired tastes".

I like the fact that they have a great mix of small and large tables, so if you have a group of 8 - 10, you stand a good chance of finding a table.

They seem to hire excellent staff - usually with a keen sense of humor, so it's not unusual for them to give you a nickname or laugh when you don't finish something you order and say something like "Told you that you wouldn't like it!"  Don't take it personally - they like to joke with the customers, and if you play along you can have a great time!

We've been customers at Danny's since the days it was a tiny restaurant on Three Road across from Minoru Shopping Center. The quality has never disappointed, very reasonable prices, and we keep coming back.

I was craving very badly for some Chinese style BBQ items on rice today, I knew I had to come here to get some for lunch. This place was the chosen one by default, as there are no other such restaurants within close proximity.

Ordering a roast pork and soya chicken combo with rice came to $9.25. You order up front, wait a bit, and it's ready within 5 minutes.

Verdict: Soya chicken was really a 2 star. They give you white meat, and there's lots of little bones in it. Flavour wasn't really there either. Then the roast pork. Not too fatty, but not too much meat either. Have had a lot better. The rice was actually a little undercooked too. Either way, I finished it, as I was starving, but might stray away from this place next time I'm craving the same thing.

I think I need to try this place again. I had the noodles and they were fine, about average or just above. I'm a little more curious how their bbq pork and duck are. It looked well made and smelled amazing.

The pricing is quite good so you're in for a well priced Chinese meal and the service is really good.

If you can get past the creepy BBQ chickens hanging in the window, you will be pleasently surprised at the quality of the food at Danny's.

Before, when I used to eat meat it was easier for me to eat here. Now that I'm a vegetarian it's harder, but I still like to come here with my boyfriend.

Normally we go with some friends and order the dinner for 3. That way everyone picks a menu item and it comes with steamed rice and wun tuns. Normally we order veg chow mein, sweet and sour pork and beef and broccoli (I just eat the noodles and the rice, it's filling enough! And tasty)

The service is quick and effecient. The staff isn't rude, but they are to the point and don't waste time with idle chit-chat. They take your order and bring your food quick as a whip.

The food is always fresh, hot and tasty. I always feel like I've got good value for the money I spent. This is my favourite chinese food place in Richmond. It's got a good, convinient location and it's easy to find if it's your first time coming here.

Great BBQ and a wide selection of authentic chinese dished done well!
    Quality food, and friendly service.

My own complaint with this restaurant is the overuse of MSG!!!  My tongue always feels "hairy" after eating at this place.

I always tell them to go easy on the saltiness but they NEVER listen!

    I hate to say it.........it.....

No, but really, this establishment is not a bad joint to eat at.  I have eaten here a number of times before and the people who work there are friendly and cheerful.  The owner is a nice guy (really into soccer) and I have a a few relatives who love to eat here.  You have the option of getting your food with or without MSG which is a nice option and they do cater to the westerners moreso than the ethnic Asians.  I feel, that those wo do go there, only go because it's the only place in the area for this type of food.   The Wun Tun is average, and they have the regular combinations of Char Sui and rice BBQ Duck, etc.  Overall, I'd give the food experience a solid mark, but unfortunately for the owners Son.  I give a poor mark for customer service, cockiness and just plain rudeness.  Especially to clientelle who can offer them good additional business.  When our company first moved into the area we were giving them pretty good business, but because of this guys attitude we now order our Chinese food elsewhere, even if we have to travel farther.  For places like this, it's what can set it apart from other places.  (if he just didn't come accross as a jerk and a spoiled brat!)
On the plus side, the staffing is very nice and attentive.  So if you do go to eat here, just talk to the staff and leave the spoiled brat alone.
You'll have a good experience.  Other than that, I have to say.  There's more fish in the ocean where this came from.

Again, I don't mean to be too critical and this was only from the experience that I have encountered along with a few others.  And certainly the opinions of the few shouldn't weigh upon your decision making.  but those who do have an opinion count for something wether it's good or bad or a bit of both.  So, in this case, I'm neutral and really shouldn't let my pride get in the way of things.
