It would seem odd that there would be a Danier store so far from the malls and downtown retail areas.  Attached to the Danier head office, this large outlet is stocked with leather goods.

Service is attentive, almost too attentive, possibly because like every other retail outlet, they are working on commission.  Selection is generally good, can be hit or miss depending on the time of year.  A decent men or women`s jacket can range roughly between $150-$200.  They also carry a selection of leather bags, wallets and gloves.

We came in looking for a men`s leather jacket and walked away with one for $150.

This place is like a little shopping dream come true, hidden at the end of St. Clair behind some mechanic shops. It's so remote that theres barely any sidewalk and only ONE lonesome bike-rack outside the store. But once you go inside, it's a whole other world.

The first time I ventured here was for a leather jacket for myself last June. I knew they'd have sales sales sales and thought I'd be smart and out-do everybody else for the fall by getting my gear early. Smart except there were tons of other people doing the same. No matter, I forged on.

The sales clerks were AWESOME, they really help you figure out what you're looking for by first showing you a range and then siphoning down the choices like a pro. I also needed sleeve alterations so the clerk steered me away from ones that wouldn't work for alterations (no GIGANTIC fashion zippers for me...) I left with a gorgeous blue leather jacket with alterations for about $200 with a $25 alteration (which only took a week ON SITE) and loved it.

We returned this past weekend and had yet another surprisingly uplifting experience looking for a men's jacket for my boyfriend. While they had a wide assortment of 'dad jackets' the clerk steered us away to the MUCH cooler fashion jackets for men and we went to town. Another great deal on top of a deal, a gorgeous grey for under $200 with tax.

Honestly, we had a lot of fun, if you are serious about hunting down a leather jacket the associates know their stuff. They also had fantastic accessories like gloves, wallets, belts and purses. With the alterations onsite things can be done in a week and you'll be strutting your stuff before you know it.

Now I really want another purse...

Their selection was good but service was iffy. The salesperson brought me a jacket and would walk off, no notice, then come back and comment on another selection I found on my own. I eventually bought one but returned it because I wasn't happy with it.

The prices are great though when they have sales and the inventory here is really good. I would go back with a friend to give me better feedback than the sales assistants.

If you're looking for a leather jacket, the Danier Outlet is a good bet. They have a much bigger selection than some of their other retail stores, and, unlike a lot of other factory outlet stores, it's not located way the hell out in the boonies. I got a great jacket on sale here for about $150, and been very happy with it.

If you need an alteration or repair, however, they don't do it on site. I had my jacket less than six months before it got a gash in it (no fault of the jacket), and the Danier people referred me to the place they send their garments to for such things, which was way out in Mississauga.
