Review from Morley B.
I was at Daly's during a recent conference in Ottawa.
I only had lunch, it was fine.
The staff where really nice and helpful. That stood out.
Not sure what other hotels charge for coffee but $4 for a cup of coffee is gouging. I had a beer in the bar at the Westin, and a half pint, not full, a half pint was $6.50. I don't know what it is about hotels that they think it's ok to gouge, or 'screw' you because you're staying there and already paying a lot.
I really do think the travel industry is it's own worst enemy and I have no sympathy for their plight at all. If you want local to frequent your hotel as well, charge more in line with the plethora of other options that surround you. -
Review from Lynn C.
Are you allowed to charge $6 for orange juice if it's not freshly squeezed? Apparently this restaurant thinks it can, and has. Connected to the Westin Ottawa and the Rideau Centre, it's a place meant for business people expensing their bills. $18 for an egg white omelette that only has cheese. There was a single broccoli sitting on the egg, and a slice of tomato. A bit of hash on the side. The food was decent, but omelette plus orange juice = $30 after tax and tip? I gave zak's diner 3 stars and I could have had freshly squeezed orange juice and a more filling omelette for less than $20.

Review from R. L.
I was staying at the Westin in early November, and needed to grab breakfast in the morning. Expected it to be pricey, but expected them to serve acceptable food.
Ordered orange juice and pancakes, something that I thought would be quick. The pancakes were quick, and looked great when the dish came. BUT once I flipped them over, every single pancake was completely burnt on the bottom side. I should have taken a picture! The pancakes were completely BLACK on the bottom side. I tried to eat them but ended up picking off the top and eating the fruit before I needed to go.
The worst part is, that the chef MUST have realized they were burnt (because it seems impossible that a chef would make and plate pancakes burnt so black without realizing it) and s/he still put them on a plate to be served!
Didn't have time to wait for a new plate and my server was so polite so I just left. But what an outrageous $25 breakfast!
