What's not to love about this place?

This place is purely Japanese-owned, opened for lunch and always busy! It was highly recommended by my brother and his girlfriend to try out their salmon-don.  It was soooo good.  Went there again to try out their daily lunch special: made-to-order black cod! It was cooked to perfection. Veggies on the side are most likely organic as I really don't know what kind of veggies they are...lol, but they were still very good.  Every dish they have is healthy, organic and tasty.

Definitely worth going if you are around the area!!

Super-tasty Japanese food. As mentioned before, food is served cafeteria style. This hole-in-the-wall has a number of cold entrees, sushi, and a few warm entrees. Much of the food served is local and from the owners' farm in Metchosin.

Menu items vary daily. I had a marinated and seared salmon on top of a bed of lettuce and a scoop of rice. While delicious, this did not fill me up for the rest of the day, and I found the bottom of the bowl to taste much too salty.

Daidoco closes when it runs out of food, which is almost always around 1PM. It is also open only Monday through Friday, which does not provide a very large window of opportunity for eating there.

I like coming here, although it can get hard to catch them because they open at 11:30 and close whenever they sell out of their dishes (usually around 2:30)

They have a cold salad bar, where they have small selections like poke tuna (raw marinated tuna chunks with a lil bit of salad) and salads made from veggies grown at their farm in Metchosin.  I usually get poke tuna and one of the other cold salads they have.  They also usually have tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi, which come in a bowl with rice.  I think they usually have another cooked dish, like chicken, but I've always go for the sashimi and salads.
Go early and grab one of their few small tables... this place is good for going solo or with a dining partner. Not so much with a whole group of people.  Like the other reviewer said, they make a set number of servings of their dishes, so when they're out, you're out of luck!

Great place to grab a quick lunch, but make sure you get there early, as they only serve a set number of people.
