In a word Fantastic!
Dadeo is a quaint and busy little Cajun Restaurant on Whyte Ave. The atmosphere is that of a casual very easy going Diner. The Servers are constantly on the go but do make time to chat, as they have time. Food wise I would recommend the sweet potato fries/poutine, Chicken wings Southern Fried, Any of the Po'Boys and the Blackened Catfish salad is usually very good as well.
The do have some deserts as well to finish off your meal. If you have a taste for Sweetness... I recommend the Bananas Foster (a good desert if you have a few of you). A servers will make it right there at you table... then served over Ice cream.
Please note that Dadeo is Licensed so unfortunately there is an age restriction of 18+.
Over all this is one of my Favourite restaurants in Edmonton. -

Wow! I can't believe that I haven't reviewed Dadeo before now, seeing as it was one of the very first restaurants in Edmonton we tried, dining there on our trip to discern whether or not we would actually move to this fair city. In fact, if I am honest, I must confess that finding a decent Cajun restaurant this far from Louisiana assured this Texan gal that perhaps Alberta wasn't the end of the earth after all, and in some way, may have influenced our decision to move here.
I love this place. I find the decor charming, the wait staff friendly, the busy-ness invigorating, and the food pretty darn good. All of the appetizers I've tried have been really good, especially the fritters. The po-boys are outstanding; I particularly like the fried oyster and the eggplant parmesan. The veggie combo is excellent, as are the seafood and veggie jambalayas. Oh, and let's not forget the desserts. The bread pudding is quite good, on par with some of the best in Edmonton. And oh my goodness, the bananas foster is quite the treat, but only order this if you have a group and if you are really willing to splurge on your diet. It's a once in a decade dish! Of course, I cannot forget the beer. I adore the Alley Kat chili lager, brewed especially for Dadeo and only available in the restaurant.
No minors are allowed, so I will need to head back there soon, before a little minor makes his debut. But alas, being pregnant, I won't be able to drink the lager. I guess that as soon as the little tyke is old enough, I'll just have to get a babysitter and make my way to Dadeo. -

WING NIGHT!!!
I just discovered that Sunday nights are Dadeo's wing night. I don't know if Dadeo is just being very generous with the wings (if so, thank you!!!) or if we have all been conditioned to think that 10 little wings = 1 lb, but these were awesome! For $6 you still get 10 wings - 10 big, meaty wings. We tried three kinds: hot, honey garlic, and southern fried. They all come with a sprinkling of chopped green onions, sliced red onions, and a wedge of lemon - loved that! The hot was the standard hot wing. The honey garlic was pretty much also the standard, but with big chunks of real garlic in the syrupy sauce. Although both of these looked kind of saucy, they were still nice and crispy underneath. The southern fried ones were my favourite - crispy with some delicious cajun seasoning. I kind of wish I'd ordered the buttermilk dressing sauce when the waitress offered.. oh well next time. We ordered a side of coleslaw as our healthy veggie - it was creamy and peppery - nice. Pints were also on special for $4 - total plus! [looks like they have a $9 po'boy special on Mondays and Tuesdays as well]
Service was fast - they weren't too busy but the waitress was still very attentive. We didn't finish all our wings so we doggie-bagged them - they are great cold! If I lived closer I would definitely come back more often. To all you wing-lovers out there, GO!! -

One of my MUST VISIT places when I stop in Edmonton. If you like Cajun style food, you'll love Dadeo's. It's a regular hangout for Edmonton hipsters, but don't let that scare you away. Monday and Tuesday nights, their famously infamous Po' Boy Sandwiches are sold at a discount, so you'll definitely need reservations to even walk into the restaurant that night. I could go on and on about Dadeo's, but instead, I'll give you the highlights:
*Sweet potato fries - They're legendary
*Po' Boys - Yup! Again, legendary. I'm lovin' the Philly Cheese steak Po' Boy.
*SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!!!! Their bread pudding is divine, but the end all, be all dessert is the bananas foster. They prepare it for you in front of your table and then flambe! Butter, dark rum, brown sugar, bananas and vanilla ice cream. Prepare to go into a diabetic coma... but it's totally worth it!!!! -

Best place I ate in Edmonton. The Oyster po' boy was delicious and not too heavy at all. The bun was perfect as well and the oysters perfectly breaded, yum! The sweet potato fries were to die for, seriously.
Pair it all with a nice spicy chili lager and you have heaven in your mouth.
The tiny biscuits and pepper jelly are a total teaser before your meal.
They are so quick here and totally lovable (cute server menz!) -

Dadeo's does a few things well, such as the po'boys, the apple/avocado salad, and the biscuits. Oh yes, and the Bloody Mary oyster shots. These items and the ambiance keep people coming back. Unfortunately, in the decade or so that I have been eating there no one has figured out how to cook rice properly. I have never had a jambalaya in which the rice hasn't been undercooked. The ribs have obviously been boiled before they are baked. Although the servers are never rude, they often seem stressed. Order the right dishes, and come on a quiet day, and it can be a great experience, but it not nearly consistent enough in it's food or service to be rated as highly as most of the reviews on this site.

Was I really the only Edmontonian that, up until last night, had not been to Dadeo? Even though I walked by it countless times? Even though when others spoke of it I would nod knowingly, not wanting to be left out of the conversation? I finally dropped by and found out quickly that reservations are an absolute necessity. The decor is absolutely retro, but it's not in-your-face-vomitrocious-cliche retro. Our server was good but almost didn't take my order (there were three of us and he apparently assumed that all three of us were sharing). The crab cakes were very yummy - crispy outside, tender inside. The blackened catfish salad was just spicy enough and not at all abrasive. The key lime pie (which I ate just to show up one of my table companions...big mistake...it's deceptively rich) was very luscious too, but next time I wouldn't have dessert after such a filling meal.

The one reason everyone needs to come to Dadeo's is for one reason. Best Sweet Potato Fries In Edmonton.
But aside from their fantastic sweet potato fries, Dadeo's is also a great New Orleans style restaurant. They have a lot of Cajun dishes including po boys, jambalaya, crab cakes - and other yummy foods. I've never been to New Orleans, so I can't compare this to what's there but I really like the food here. Last time I got the crab cake po boy and of course sweet potato fries. It was delicious. For the price you pay you get a lot of food. They have a variety of drinks including Alley Kat on tap - but I opted for a classic cherry Coke. One thing to note is that minors are not allowed. The decor is very cool, very much a 50's style diner.
I've seen some complaints about service, but it's always been fine when I've. Our waiter highly recommended the special which was a chicken and apple quesadilla that my friend got, and she said it was delicious. There are other reviewers that have said this place is closed - but I believe they are referring to another restaurant called Dadeo's which was in Vancouver. Dadeo's here in Edmonton is quite popular, so it's best to make a reservation. -

Dadao. Whodoggie! We were lucky to get a seat at dinner time on a Monday. SOOO glad we did though. The little cornbread taster with hot sauce jelly was a nice starter. I ordered the gumbo for maybe all of $8 thinking it was an app size. I was wrong. It was huge and I finished it all, to the detriment of the southern fried chicken that came, which I honestly found a little bit dry. If I visit Edmonton again I'd CERTAINLY return to this bussling spot and try this infamous poboy that I read about now . I loved the Brunswick juke box stuff all over, and the old diner feel, and the cajun/jazz/blues/rock they played. Yay!

Review from Lea A.
The decor and ambiance is great, and so is the rockabilly service. It's a FUN place to eat and often busy. It's usually best for small groups or couples; there's really only ONE table that would accommodate a larger group in the entire restaurant.
My recommendations: their southern fried chicken, deep fried oysters, and blackened catfish (The latter two can both be fillings in a po boy). A place like this is not for those who prefer mild tasting food: expect salt and spice, and plenty of it. I'd also order their sweet potato fries with mayo.
I wish I can give this a higher review, but the hot dog bun they place their lovely Po Boy filling is just a disaster. I understand that it's a "po boy" hence a cheap sandwich, and usually on special, but will it kill them to use a higher quality bun? Bake their own or buy from a local bakery? Please and thanks?
EDIT: after a friend asked what bread is used in "the south" a quick Google found the Wikipedia article mentioning French bread! http://en.wikipedia.or... Now, upon further reflection, I know a few *cheap* bánh mì (Vietnamese sub) places that use nice, crusty loaves, so why not Dadeos? -

I don't know how I haven't been to this restaurant before! Dadeos has a great atmosphere and food that transports you to a different place... My complaint is that I wish it was bigger! Waited forever to get in but it was totally worth it. Had a Po'Boy that was to die for and the sweet potato fries were delish! Definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.

I really want to like this place, it has so much potential but in the end it always disappoints.
Decor is great, the AlleyKat spicy beer on tap is sublime, no kids allowed makes it my kind of heaven....
BUT food is bland and for those who think they are the best poboy sandwiches, please compare them to something from Louisiana rather than the subway on the corner. -

I am completely biased here, I will admit that. I love mussels and they are terrific at Dadeo. I haven't had any other dish when I have been here. I really enjoy mussels. Friends and family, when I take them here usually berate me for not have taken them before. I like mussels.

Honestly, I havent eaten here in years, but I still crave the simple (and perfect) biscuits and jalapeno jelly you get while waiting for your food to arrive. I would come here for the catfish fingers, the po-boys and the atmosphere. Very similar to the Templeton in Vancouver, but cajun and always spotted with rockabilly babes. So I can dig on all of those things.
The food was never a let down and the service always keen. Consistency rules, doesnt it? I have absolutely zero reason to return to Edmonton any time soon, but I know I will be visiting this spot (along side a few other old haunts in the neighbourhood).
Hope all is well, Dadeo! -

The really great thing about this place is the fact it is fully licensed. You'll never have a meal interrupted by a crying child here.
Drinks are a little expensive here.
Ive never been to nola so I can't compare but the red beans and rice are fantastic - make sure you get the andoulli sausage. -

Since I work in the area I come here on occasion on my lunch breaks. I love how the place is licenced so you never have to worry about misbehaved kids, etc. After you sit down you are served with a complimentary biscuit and jalapeno jam (which I find tasty).
I always get the sweet potato fries. Either plain with a dipping sauce (the sauce is awesome) or as a poutine. I love these fries. If you can't handle spicy then these are probably not a good choice (I'm sure they could go light on the seasoning if you asked).
I always go around lunch time. The day staff have always been friendly to me and I normally have no problems getting refills on pop. -

The best restaurant in E-Town.
Biscuits and homemade green pepper jelly greet you when you first sit down, before you order the four-tune of (insanely large) fritters to share with the table. Be careful though - go easy on these or you won't even be able to start your dinner.
Next up - dinner. I recommend the po-boys (on special Mondays and Tuesdays!) - the blackened catfish is my personal favourite for the seafood loving crowd, with the pulled pork being incredible as well for those in a land animal mood. The sweet potato fries area must do for your side, and with those it's all about the dipping sauce that comes with those. If you're into the dip, ask for some fritter sauce which are great on the fries too and see which is your favourite.
Of course, after the fritters to start you won't be able to finish it all but that's OK - save half your sandwich and half the fries (don't forget the sauce!) for lunch tomorrow. It's just as good the next day!
And finally - for special occasions - a round of bananas foster for the table is an absolute must-do. Prepared at your table complete with all sorts of fire, this dessert treat is quite the show, not to mention crazy good.
Enjoy folks! Don't forget to call ahead for a reservation! -

I heard a lot of really good things about Dadeo on Whyte and so I wanted to try it.
I will say this to start off, their food is really good - so if you aren't a stickler for good service, this place will suit you well.
I found our waitress to be impatient, short and disinterested in us as customers. Only when we became noticeably irritated did she finally become relatively polite.
I don't know if she was new or just bad at her job but customer service is everything to me. I feel as though if one works hard for their money, they should feel good about where and who they give it to. I probably won't be back. -
Review from Kent V.
I have had mixed feelings about Dadeo after visiting a few times. The catfish po'boy was amazing. The chicken in the blackened chicken po'boy was on the dry side. And the jambalaya was not the best I have ever had, but its passable. Although the tiny buttermilk biscuits served with jalapeño jelly before your main meal was not that substantial, it was different and certainly a nice touch. The atmosphere is buzzing in this place. Always packed on weekends, styled like a '50s diner with its (not working) jukeboxes, retro decor, and jazz music everyone expects from a place serving food from New Orleans. Consider yourself lucky if you get a seat right away on a weekend, I don't think they take reservations and it will be full.

Finally got to check this place out on the weekend and it was fun! It was really busy so I got to do some interesting people watching while I ate my fried clam po'boy and drank my freshly squeezed lemonade, yum.
I got seated right in front of the door and it SUCKED. The door opened every 2 minutes letting cold air blow in and making me grouchy, and when I asked if we could move to an empty table I was told they were reserved...Well that's OK but its just a table, can't you give my crappy table to someone else when they come since I'm here now? Hmm guess not.
The calamari is delicious and so is the green jalapeno jelly, my po'boy was pretty good except it was all deep fried stuff so it gave me a tummy ache after :( The waitress was excellent at refilling drinks and asking about the food, but still had the gall to sneer at her 20% tip on the bill, I'm sorry but I thought the suggested amount was 15%? Some peoples children...
The decor was great, the music was great, I loved the one toilet washroom thing they have going on, and I like the bar scene as well buuut I think it may be a bit before I venture back.
Oh and its 18+ which is awesome! So come on down to Dadeos, Now screaming children free! -

I had no idea what to expect because I had never heard of this place. After some shopping on Whyte Ave we used our iphone to find out where the nearest vegetarian restaurant was and Dadeo showed up. The place was ridiculously busy and we waited around 20 minutes for a spot in the 50s style diner.
The complimentary green jello/pepper spread is disgusting but the homemade biscuits are okay. We ordered the cheddar & jalapeño fritters which were amazing. If I ever eat here again I am just going to eat the fritters (even though they are over-priced). I was ready to give this place a 5 out of 5 rating because of the fritters alone, until our main meals came. I ordered a veggie po'boy with "potato hash". The po'boy was disgusting, the bread was stale and was covered with a little bit of mayo, that's it. Inside it was spewing with bland grilled peppers and zucchini. My boyfriend had the jambalaya dish which he said he loved. For dessert we shared a key lime pie - which was as delicious as the fritters.
I'm giving this place a 3 out of 5 because the appetizer, dessert, and service were great but my main dish was disgusting and the place was somewhat dirty. -
Review from Jason L.

I am a fan, though I'd describe the cuisine as Cajun/Creole inspired and not as authentic Cajun or creole food. It's all simply too bland for to be authentic. There is a difference between food with the peppers and chili cooked in than adding hot sauce to it afterwards. What they do serve though is pretty good.
First, the meal starts with little mini biscuits and jalapeno jelly, a great amusebouche. Then have some fritters, delicious deep fried balls of dough flavoured with corn, artichoke and crab with killer dipping sauce. Have the Four Tune and try the variety. The Gumbo is a good appetiser course as well. The Jambalaya or the Chicken and Ribs are good choices, but any one of the dozen or so Po' Boys are a great choice at a great price, light mayo on really good bread. I find the potato hash good, but a little heavy. Have the great sweet potato fries instead.
A couple of years ago, I ordered the Red Beans and Rice. This is a Lousianna/Gulf staple. Red Beans slow cooked with salt pork and spices thickened with filé to the consistency of chili spooned over white rice. What I got was a pile of beans on rice. I sent it back; it was inedibly dry. I mentioned that this was not Red Beans and Rice and the waiter told me it was an old Louisiana recipe. Considering that I've had Red Beans and Rice made by an old Creole grandmother down in the Gulf, that pretty much sealed the deal about being Cajun/Creole inspired, not authentic. Take with a grain of salt what a waiter tells you is authentic. I've gone back to the Po' Boys and couldn't be happier. -
Review from Paula K.
I realize I may make myself unpopular with this review, but I need to speak my mind. I know that Dadeo is one of Whyte Avenue's most popular restaurants. I know that people go there in flocks to enjoy southern Louisiana Cajun cuisine. And I know many, many people enjoy it.
I don't. I find the restaurant dark and gloomy, and a bit on the creepy side. Service can tend to be slow. And the food? Well, the last time I went there I ordered a vegetarian jambalaya and it did not sit well with me -- to put it mildly.
The best part of the meals are the buttermilk biscuits - but it is not enough to get me to ever go there again. However, like I said before, it is a popular place and a lot of people enjoy it - so check it out if oysters and Cajun food are your thing. -
Review from Lauren N.
My friend introduced me to this place, and I loved it! It's a 50's style Cajun/New Orleans diner, with lots of chrome and vinyl furnishings. The service is great, very friendly ppl ... our waiter started talking to us about music, for some reason. But he was still cool.
They start you off with these awesome buttermilk biscuits that are so light and fluffy, they melt in your mouth. And the green jelly they serve it with may look a bit toxic, but trust me -- it's soooo good ... you'd be crazy not to try it. The green jelly is actually a sweet jalapeno jam; not spicy, but sweet and tangy with a subtle kick to the taste buds. Oh yeah, gimme s'more!
I had the catfish, and it was oh-so-good too. I'd tell you what my friend had, but I can't remember ... I think I was too busy stuffing my face with catfish. The fish was tender and juicy, and just spicy enough with black pepper that I could enjoy both taste and texture.
Our bill was also pretty decent, coming to about $16 to $18 for each of us. A fair price for a well-cooked catfish, I would think. I can't wait to go back and have some of that jalapeno jelly!
I should also note: they don't allow kids here, adults only.Listed in: A Walk Thru Whyte, Best Eats

Dadeo has a unique atmosphere unlike most restaurants in Edmonton, and being on Whyte ave it fits in with the eclectic area.
The first thing about the place that made me love it was the cherry coke (they have vanilla too) and that they always serve a biscuit and green pepper jelly, which is sweet but great! I enjoy all the menu has to offer with some of my favorites being the pulled pork poboy and sweet potato fries! I must note that I don't like spicy food very much, and even though their food is a bit spicy I still go because I love it so much.
I definately recommend this place to anyone looking for something different!
The only negative there is would be the seating, it is a small location and if you are sat by the door it isn't always the best. -

A trip back home meant a certain visit to one of my favourite Edmonton eateries: the southern-style soul food of Dadeo.
Apart from being arguably the coolest restaurant in the city - its '50s diner theme features genuine jukeboxes, booths, and barstools - it also has the best (OK, probably the only) Po' Boys in the city.
For that reason, it's also one of the unlikeliest places to find dishes such as blackened catfish, fresh-shucked oysters, and, yes, gumbo. Yet it's all here, and it's all delicious.
This place also introduced me to yam fries - years ago, before they were fashionable outside of New Orleans, or at any rate before the Cactus Clubs of the world got hold of them - and for that reason it holds a dear, dear place in my heart.
Throw in consistently good service and consistently great tunes (again, think Southern, deep fried), and you've got a destination restaurant - provided that your final destination brings you somewhere near northern Alberta. -

- You should make reservations. Popular place.
- No crawldads.
- Street parking can be tough. Public garage near by.

Review from Erin D.
I was in Edmonton for the weekend, and the last two times I have visited I have gone to Dadeo's so needless to say I was looking forward to it. I am sad to say this was my last visit as tonight I received some of the worst service I have ever experienced while dining.
When we arrived we had to approach the surly looking man at the counter to enquire if he could accommodate our party of three, he looked as though I was asking him if we could have a free meal and then some haggard looking woman hunched over the counter barked something at him and he told us to come back at quarter four. We returned and were seated at 3:45 PM as promised and then sat and waited for almost 10 minutes until the scrawny, badly tattooed, do*che bag of a waiter asked us what we wanted (literally). He took our order and our drinks and appetizers were out within 10 minutes. It was pretty delicious so we tried to ignore the server's bad attitude and anticipate our next meal. We waited until 4:50 PM, and still no meal. In that time, we witnessed our server and the owner of the place do shots of Tequila at the next table. When our meal did arrive, only two out of three of the entrees appeared. The tequila drinking server realized it after several minutes, muttered an insincere apology/excuse and my meal was served at 5:00 PM. The food was mediocre, my catfish and fries tasted as if it had taken only ten minutes to make as the fries were undercooked and the catfish soggy.
We headed to the counter as soon as we were done, the server didn't bother to let anyone there know that we needed a bill so we had to point out where we were sitting and then were given the bill. Nothing had been removed from it and then the server appeared out of nowhere and hovered around in an almost threatening manner I think to have a potential confrontation over the tip he most certainly didn't deserve. They should have at least removed the catfish from my bill, or at the very least apologized again.
So if you like white people's interpretation of southern cuisine and you like to be treated like garbage, Dadeo's your destination! -

Dadeo's servers intimidate us: they are no frills and not very friendly. We wish they would all get fired or go for Service in the Food Industry Training and everyone could just start over.
Dadeo's needs to work on their side dishes. They're bland and rarely satisfying.
What keeps us coming back is the Po Boys and the Lemonade.
We want to enjoy Dadeo's more. We really do.
Summary: "It's kind of like to dinner at your grandmother's when you know that she actually hates you." -

Dadeo's is a great place for Cajun-style cuisine. Their Po-Boys are generously filled and always leave me stuffed. I always substitute their potatoes for sweet potato fries and trust me, it's worth the extra dollar. This comes with a chipolte-mayonnaise mixture and I always find myself overloading on the dip on my fries.
I like the old style diner feel of the restaurant. They have a miniature jukebox on some of the tables, which adds a nice touch. There has sometimes been a wait, but it has never been too long, and it is worth the wait.
Prices are reasonable at this location too. Their Po'Boys are around $11, and you can get them for half price on Monday and Tuesdays. They are also open quite late (11pm on most days) which makes it very convenient for a late snack. Food service is also very quick here, although sometimes it feels as if they're trying to rush you out to serve other customers. -

I must say I've had a very different experience with Dadeo than most local Vancouverites I hear from. Maybe it's because their greasy southern Cajun food doesn't mesh with the Vancouver palate or maybe it's their admittedly garish interiors but people haven't caught on. I'm still an old Edmonton boy at heart though and being able to get a cheap Po'boy and beer in a city with almost no other options for Cajun food is something I love.
Their menu's focus is southern comfort food and a little fusion. You get biscuits with jalapeno jelly to start and then have a menu of Jambalaya, sandwiches and all sorts of shellfish to sort through. I've honestly never had anything except the Po'Boys with sweet potato fries because I've never wanted anything else. I love the squid, the crayfish and the catfish. They have options for the oyster as well which some purists will appreciate.
Yes, it's greasy and I'm sure not the most authentic. They come down on the side of accessible above purism but I do enjoy it very much. And, as I've said before, I'll consider less of Dadeo if you can name me one place in Vancouver that can produce a Po'Boy as good. Heck, even their sweet potato fries are in the running for best in the city in my book.
If you want a cheap night out and to try a kind of food not so easily come by in Vancouver, head to Dadeo...just keep open minded about the decor. -
Review from Michael L.
I happened to be staying at the hotel down the street, so I made my way over for a quick Po'boy and the sweet potato fries everyone keeps harping about.
The place itself is cool, and same goes with the staff, who I would classify as "hip, friendly, but won't put up with your shit". I like that.
The blackened catfish Po'boy would have been really good if it weren't for the bones that kept lodging itself in my gums. I understand it's fish, but after every other bite yielded small bones that perforated my mouth - I gave up halfway through. The fries though were so damn good I sat one up on the seat across from me and pretended it was my date for the evening. The fry and I then had a romantic stroll back to the hotel where I gave it a back rub and foot massage right before reading its final death rites as I shipped it off to gastrointestinal hell.
Yes - the fries rock. -

The biscuits and the green jelly should be outlawed they're so addictive!
This place is a unique treasure, there's is nothing else like it in Edmonton. Whyte is such a hassle to go down sometimes with the traffic and the crowds but it always seems to be worth the trouble if this is the destination.
Wait times can be a bit much, and it is a bit crowded, but it does have a friendly ambiance - on one of my visits when I was curious about the the chili beer, the server gave me and my friend a free sample to taste - found out it wasn't for me, but I certainly appreciate the gesture! -

Dadeo is a gift from the food gods. I love this place, and I regret not knowing about this place earlier. This place has a really cool atmosphere, that does not cross over into pretentiousness at all.
I've been here twice. Once about 3 or 4 years ago and once recently. Their food was super yummy back then, but it's even better now. They did not have the biscuit and jelly before, but this small appertizer has some big taste. The jelly looks a little alien-like, and I was apprehensive to try it, because spicy jelly is weird to me. I ended up really liking it though.
The sweet potato fries are really good, and I think what makes them so amazing are the spices. I really like the vegetable po'boy. It's a large bun packed with grilled veggies and the tastiest sauce. It can get kind of messy, but it's so worth it. If you can't stand spicey, you might not like this place. But if you're like me, and you like that burn in your mouth, then you're going to love it.
The desserts seriously make me drool. The key-lime pie and coconut pie are superb. They are so fresh, like they just came out of the oven.
The prices are really reasonable for the quality and the amount of food you get. This place gets super packed on almost evening of the week though. If you don't have a reservation, you might be turned away. -

Nothing beats a good Cajun eatery.
Dadeo's is an old school style diner (I think the name gives it a way) that has great food. It usually has a little bit of a wait but it's no big deal because it is quite worth it.
I would recommend going on either a Monday or Tuesday for half priced Po'boys and upgrade to the sweet potato fries, if you're a fan, because they have great ones here (I'm not much of a fan but the people I have gone with claim they are). The dip is a chipotle mayo and the jalapeno jelly for the biscuits is so good!
Like I said before, you may have to wait for a table because it is a small restaurant, with tons of booths, so you may want to call ahead to make reservations. Ultimately it is an awesome place to start off a night on the town. -

This funky place on whyte is the best place to get sweet potato fries. To be honest.. I could eat these everyday.. well.. If I didn't care about the size of my butt that is.
The atmosphere is 50's diner meets funky and trendy. It is not a great place for groups, as almost all the seats in this place are booths and it could get pretty tight.
The Po'boys (a sort of Cajun style sandwich) are to die for. I had one that had burger patties in it and it was super filling. I almost didn't have room for my sweet potato fries!!
Prices are pretty decent, service is a-ok.
Tip: For that local flavor, try Edmonton's locally brewed Ally Kat beer. They have it on tap here!
