This is a temporary location, but they do a great job documenting the big flood. The gift shop is pretty cool and the volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Right across the street from Al's Blue Toad.

The actual museum and library was devastated by the great flood of the Cedar River several years ago. They are in the process of picking up the building and moving it to the top of a hill so it doesn't happen again. In the meantime the museum and library has been temporarily located to the center of the Czech Village.
The museum has some artifacts and it has a museum store when you enter. You can also sign up for tours of the Czech village from here. I got an excellent walking tour from the director of the museum and it was interesting to learn the ties of Cedar Rapids to the Czech people and there was a lot of interesting information about the village.Listed in: America The Beautiful

Review from Jeff P.
The museum was interesting and well put together with interactive touchscreen tvs. ...however, since the 2008 flood ruined the original location, they are still in the process of rebuilding the new location. So, this temporary location informs of the flood, just as much as Czech heritage.
